WCW Week 5 Recap
Nitro
- Swerve! Everything involving David Arquette was a setup from the very beginning to screw with DDP.
- Funk retains the Hardcore Title over Ralphus and Norman, and the latter two are now fired.
- David is upset with Ric for never being there for him. Flair tries to win back the love of his son David, offering to call Vince McMahon for a job in WWF, but gets a mini-Statue of Liberty smashed over his head instead. David then steals Ric's NWA and WCW Title belts.
- Luger is lured out by Palumbo, R&B Security take Liz back and Luger's knocked out by the Lex Flex.
- Stasiak gets the win over Rection after interference from Hennig. Nash hits Stasiak with a jackknife after the match, then callsout Russo, only to get the Filthy Animals in his place, leads to a brawl with Hogan to set up a Street Fight later on.
- Awesome beats DDP in a Stretcher Match, but not before they force an unconscious DDP to sign the divorce papers with Kimberly.
- Steiner calls out Booker, only to be knocked out by Tank Abbott.
- Kronic beats Harlem Heat 2000, Harris Brothers and The Mamalukes in an elimination match, with the purpose to get the titles that Kronic stole from Douglas and Bagwell back. They get taken out by Steiner though after the match and Kronic still have the titles. Plus, dissension in Harlem Heat 2000 is forming.
- Steiner calls out Tank but instead Swerve! Rick Steiner turns on him and helps Abbott beat him down.
- Liz beats Daffney via DQ after Medusa interferes. Mona fights with Medusa and Liz cracks a chair over her back, then gets kidnapped again even though she would have won her freedom.
- Nash & Hogan vs Filthy Animals & Awesome in a Street fight goes to a no contest after Hogan gets locked in a trunk and Nash hits Juventud with a jackknife. As they try to drive away with Hogan, Goldberg's monster truck cuts them off.
- Jarrett retains the World Title over Sting after Vamp pulls Sting through the ring and leaves him bloody.
- Show ends with Goldberg's monster truck running over Tank and Rick's car.
Thunder
- Candido retains the CW Title over Crowbar after interference from Daffney and Tammy, then Candido nails the sitout tombstone.
- Vignettes are shown, that we're told are supposed to show us Russo brainwashing David, but really it just paints David, Crowbar and Daffney as complete naive idiots.
- Funk retains the Hardcore Title over Harlem Heat 2000 after Heat seemingly break up.
- Super awkward interview with Vamp ends with Sting beating the crap out of him.
- Stasiak beats Cpl. Cajun, the former Lash Leroux, after help from Hennig.
- Rhonda Sing (Bertha Faye) beats Liz via DQ after Luger puts her in the Rack. Palumbo comes out and hits Liz in the back with a bat as her and Luger embrace, then he beats down Luger with the bat.
- David explains himself, then Arn Anderson comes out to defend Flair, and because Russo's an incompetent dumbass, books Arn in a match when he shouldn't be even wrestling.
- Funk retains the Hardcore Title over Palumbo after Luger throws Palumbo in a dumpster outside. R&B Security then mace and cuff Luger so Palumbo can beat him down some more.
- After the match goes from a normal match, to a No DQ Match, to a Falls Count Anywhere Match, to a Texas Deathmatch, to a Handicap Match with the Filthy Animals, to an "I Quit" Match, Kidman beats Horace Hogan after he's dogpiled in the ring via pinfall, and now Horace is fired.
- Nash and Hogan comes out to clear the ring, Hogan chasing them to the back as Nash stays in the ring. Russo promises to make him cool again, and either someone fucked up or Nash said fuck this to a bloodbath.
- Arn vs David ends seemingly in a no contest after the ref is taken out by Crowbar. David smashes a mini-statue over his head, busting him open hard way, puts him in a figure 4, Crowbar drops the leg and counts the pin but the bell is never rung.
- Rick and Tank come out to talk shit about Goldberg, then Rick explains that he did what he did to save Steiner from being fired. Kronic then come out to fight them, and in the chaos, Shane and Buff leave with their titles back in their hands. Plus Goldberg's truck runs over Tank and Rick's car again.
- After Sting delivers the Deathdrop to Awesome on top of the ambulance, the latter wins the Ambulance Match after Vamp pulls Sting into the ambulance and closes the doors behind them.
