WCW Week 7 - More Title Changes
Nitro
We get a recap package of what happened on Thunder, then we go outside to a hearse and car pulling up outside the arena. Out steps Russo, who has the World Title for some reason, Jarrett, Liz and David. Russo mutters "why did it have to be him" before we go to the opening pyro.
We're live from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There's some kind of dome-like cage hanging from the rafters of the arena, commentary welcome us to the show and we get to our first match.
Weapons Match: The Cat vs Booker T
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: We learn from Tenay that Russo and co. are having a funeral for the career of Ric Flair tonight.
Cat seemed to have brought a kendo stick with him as he swings and misses to start the match, Booker with rights before tossing Cat to the outside. Cat throws a drink in Booker's face and sends a chair into his gut before tossing him back in the ring. Cat has some kind of martial arts sticks now as he attacks the ribs, then some nunchucks to the side of the head before using them to choke Booker. Nunchucks to the ribs, now the sticks again to the chest, then choking Booker with one. Booker sent off the ropes and clotheslined with a stick, then some dancing by Cat. Booker fights back with some rights, then Cat with a low blow, then a stick to the back of the head. Cat grabs his kendo stick into the gut of Booker, then over the back, into the gut again and again. Booker with rights, then the stick again to the ribs, back and jaw, then swings and misses and Booker connects with the Book End. Booker reverses a whip off the ropes into a Harlem Side Kick. Cat sent off the ropes into a spinebuster. Booker with the kendo stick now repeatedly across the back of Cat.
Now Stasiak has rushed the ring with mounted rights and Cat grabs a chair from ringside. Booker though gets Stasiak with the scissors kick as the chair is slid into the ring, Booker grabs it and cracks it across his back. Cat connects with a cartwheel kick that sends the chair back into Booker's face for the win in 4:49. Well that match sucked.
Cat with the kendo stick over the ribs of Booker and MIA rush the ring now, taking out Stasiak and Cat handily with corner splashes until they escape. Now Bischoff and Kimberly make their way out as Cat and Stasiak join them on the stage. Eric has a mic and tells everyone to settle down, because he didn't come out to hear them, he came out to address Booker and his band of misfits. He says the business meeting he and Russo had last week went very well, and are a phone call away from changing the face of New Blood and WCW forever. Back to Booker though, he says he wants to start tonight with a clean slate, because it was never about him and MIA, they just made a mistake, and with all the compassion Eric has in his heart, he wants to give them the chance to make things right, and rejoin the New Blood and put everything behind them.
So he and MIA huddle together, then Rection gets on the mic and they all tell Eric to kiss their asses. Eric says they just signed their death warrant, and that's it.
Cut outside to Sting, Page, Luger and Hogan. Page says Nash is late again and Sting quips that that's his gimmick as they head into the arena into commercial.
Back from break, Eric, Booker and MIA are backstage and Eric isn't happy that they tried to embarrass him on his own show. He says he can't fire MIA because he has plans for them, but Booker is now unemployed. Eric threatens to sue if he touches him as they start yelling and he walks away.
Now we cut to Russo who's backstage with Liz who are sitting by the casket, and there's a giant nose where Ric's head should be. Russo asks Jeff why, pretending to be sad. Jeff says it's because Ric was too damn old, and Russo agrees. In comes Douglas to join the "mourning," then Crowbar, Daffney and Awesome. Crowbar's mad at her because she won't give him his belt and calls her a bitch, Russo tells them to go settle it in the ring.
Back outside to a car arriving, and out steps Terry Taylor and apparently 12 year old Reid Flair and they head into the arena.
We go to commentary where Madden pretends to be sad and wonder who else could get fired tonight. Scott tells us that Funk is rumored to "finally" be retiring tonight. We go to footage of Funk holding a press conference earlier in the day in a tux, where he claims to be making the biggest announcement he's ever made tonight.
Now back to the arena and out comes Daffney, and we see what happened last week with the title situation, when Daffney won the title pinning Tammy. Daffney takes the mic and says this is getting ridiculous, that Crowbar's acting like a big baby. She says he tore off all the hair on her Barbie dolls, peed in her suitcase, and that it's obvious she's the champion, since she's the one who pinned the skank Tammy, then calls him out to settle this like mature adults.
So out comes Crowbar with the title and a lead pipe and she immediately tries to take the belt but the ref pries it away from them, so I guess we're gonna have a match.
WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Daffney vs Crowbar
They thumb wrestle, then rock paper scissors, then lock up. Crowbar with an Indian burn, then Daffney with a DDT. Ms. Hancock is out and Daffney is lifted to the top rope. Crowbar goes up for a Frankensteiner but Crowbar decides not to, so Daffney gives him a wedgie, then a Franken-Screamer, cover and a kick out. Crowbar with a snapmare, then out to the apron for a slingshot splash onto Daffney now being remorseful for it. Candido runs down now and Tammy, they send Crowbar off the ropes, he ducks a double clothesline, goes for one of his own and nails Candido but Tammy ducks, then Daffney tackles her. Crowbar sent off the ropes, then a belly to back overhead by Crowbar. Tammy comes in with a chair and goes to hit Daffney but Crowbar takes it, but Candido knocks it back into his face with a missile dropkick from the top, followed by a sitout tombstone onto the chair. He and Tammy leave, Daffney tries to revive Crowbar but in the process covers him and wins/retains the title in 3:03.
Crowbar's out cold but she quickly realizes she's champion and celebrates.
Then we cut to something called the Kid Cam, I assume for Kidman, and we see Torrie massaging Horace somewhere in the back.
Then we get a Macho Man Slim Jim commercial. Then we catch up with Booker leaving the arena and MIA by his side, asking what he's gonna do. Booker says he has a plan, and tells them to stay tuned next week before walking away. We see Norman and Ralphus doing a car wash right behind them much to the protests of the driver.
Then we go to Kidman who walks into Bischoff's office, who's upset with Eric about Horace still with Torrie. Eric points out he's not his babysitter, then Cat gets in his face and Kidman pushes him. Eric tells him Horace is around the corner and Kidman goes off looking for him, Eric in tow. Kidman tells Bischoff to get him a referee as Torrie comes out of the locker room, even though her and Horace were clearly in a hallway. Eric calls over a ref, sucker punches him and takes his shirt off and tosses it to Torrie, as Kidman throws Horace out of the locker room for this match I guess.
Horace Hogan vs Billy Kidman
Special Guest Referee: Torrie Wilson
Horace goes face first into an equipment case, then Kidman's whipped into a ladder before being carried near gorilla or whatever it's called. They fight out to the arena and Kidman gets whipped into the guard rail, then rights by Horace, only to charge into the ring post, then Kidman with a bulldog. Eric joins commentary, then Horace reverses a whip off the ropes and Kidman gets a dropkick. Eric tells us the Kidman/Hogan match at the PPV will have a very special referee. Kidman mocks Hogan, then runs into an elbow, slips out of a back suplex but walks into a boot by Horace. Horace with a chokeslam.
Horace pulls out a table now and slides it in, then Kidman pulled into a clothesline. Horace sets up the table and calls for the end, and out comes Hulk. Horace goes to powerbomb Kidman through the table but Kidman gets him with a facebuster instead. Kidman lays Horace on top of the table and goes up top, but Hogan crotches him. Hulk now with right hands, then throws Kidman onto Horace through the table. He tells Torrie to count and pulls Kidman on top of Horace, Hulk puts his foot on Kidman's back and Torrie counts the three in 4:07.
Torrie runs off to the back and Hulk is immediately on the mic turning his attention to Bischoff. He says the two of them were tight for a long time, and Hulk used to think he was a pretty cool guy. He says he heard Bischoff running his mouth about a special surprise at the PPV, and says Bischoff can go out and get any referee he wants, Bischoff is nothing but a little pissant, and he's gonna kick Kidman's ass at the PPV, and set himself up for a World Title shot, and there's nothing Bischoff can do about it, calling him a piece of shit. Hulk's music and he leaves.
Then we cut back to the "funeral" and Russo insists they bury Ric with his watch, but Jeff says it's a family heirloom and it should stay in the family. Russo gives it to David, but David tosses it in the casket and walks off.
Now we cut I think outside... some room to Terry Taylor and Reid, Terry asks if he's alright with everything, Reid says yes, and they walk off into commercial.
Back outside to Norman and Ralphus trying to get takers for their car wash, and a car with terrible transmission or suspension drags its way into the parking lot. Out step the Filthy Animals, and it looks like they've got a taker. Then we cut right to the MIA's locker watching this on a monitor.
Then to the arena and out comes Funk in his tux and his title around his waist, with mic in hand. Funk says he's here to make a very important announcement, one that's long overdue. He asked someone very important to him to be there with him tonight, his daughter Brandi there in the front row. He says his wife thinks this is long overdue, then we cut to Bischoff sending the New Blood out there. He starts this speech about how he told everyone to watch this show, but then Douglas' music hits and out he comes with a few others, saying he's heard enough of Funk's old man ass and to get on with the announcement, that they have a live show to take care of. Finally Funk announces that he's going to be a grandpa.
Douglas doesn't care and yells at Funk to shut up as the crowd cheers for Funk, and Douglas says he's waiting for Funk to announce retirement. Funk says grandpa shouldn't be in the wrestling ring, instead in rocking chairs with the grandchildren, and that's where he's gonna be, because he's retiring.... June 1. He says he told this to Brad Siegel, and Brad cried, and he is retiring June 1.... 2001, because Brad extended his contract one more year, so we have to look at his wrinkled old ass another 365 days, and he'll be damned if they're gonna get his belt.
Douglas takes his guys down there to retire him now, so Funk tries to fight them off but the numbers game gets to him, then Douglas piledrives him onto a chair. Brandi jumps the guard rail and gets in the ring begging Douglas to stop but she just gets shoved down. Candido with a DDT onto the chair, then another piledriver onto the chair. Douglas pins him, Candido counts and Douglas takes the title as Brandi tends to her dad. Paramedics are out with a stretcher.
Now back outside to the car wash and MIA are out there. Stash switches out the buckets for some reason... Up next, Wall on his way to the arena with a table, and Awesome's driving an ambulance out into commercial.
We get a brief clip from Kanyon's interview from Thunder, then to the arena for our next match.
Tables vs Ambulance Match: "Career Killer" Mike Awesome vs The Wall
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: Awesome has come out mocking Kanyon, with one of those medical halos and wheeling himself out in a wheelchair. Not sure what happened to the ambulance. He's got a mic and starts asking if anyone's seen his nurses because he needs a sponge bath. Awesome gets out of his wheelchair and gets in the ring, and he says his name is "Ironsides" Chris Kanyon, and his career was ended by Awesome all because he tried to help his good buddy DDP. Wall comes out before it goes on much longer and his table seems to have disappeared, Awesome attacks and the match starts.
Wall sent off the ropes into a clothesline after some right hands. Wall reverses a whip off the ropes and hits a big boot, then a running slam. Awesome whipped into the corner, Wall with some corner punches until Aweosme goes for an Awesome Bomb, but Wall slips out, only to be backdropped over the top rope through a table, and it's over in 1:24. For the record, Tony was the one who told us what kind of match this was but never explained the rules, and commentary weren't even sure the match was over until the ref called for the bell.
Wall is back to his feet immediately and back in the ring, knocking Awesome out of the ring. They fight up the aisle and Douglas' music hits. Douglas with a lead pipe to the back, then the head. They drag Wall to the back after another pipe to the head. They drag Wall out to a waiting ambulance, but out pops Page who hits Awesome in the face with a chair, then a second time and throws Awesome into the ambulance, then it drives off.
Meanwhile, Wall whips Douglas into a column then starts to choke him.
Now talk about lack of continuity, because we see Russo and co. bringing the casket out to the ring, and there's Mike Awesome in street clothes right with them. Russo gets mad at Liz for laughing, trying to take this "seriously" that they're burying a man's career, so he gets Palumbo to take her away into commercial.
Back from break we catch up with Norman and Ralphus, and Ralphus dumps that bucket that MIA switched out and turns out it was white paint, and they try to wash it off.
So now we get the funeral of Ric Flair's career, The casket had been brought out during the break, and out come Russo and David to funeral music, World Title over Russo's shoulder and Jarrett in tow.
Russo opens the funeral with your standard "dearly beloved" and such, celebrating the death of the career of Ric Flair. Then he rolls footage from Thunder when Ric collapsed on the ramp after getting beat down, Russo calling it the most pathetic thing you've ever seen. He tells the fans that that footage is on their head, he tried to do the right thing, that he told Ric he was too damn old to compete. He says in front of the entire world, a man had a brain aneurysm, but Tony's quick to point out that's unconfirmed. He says the real shame of this is that David couldn't retire his dad at the Bash. Fans start chanting "Russo sucks" and he says that he may suck, but he's got the World Title, and now its time he gives it back to its proper owner, Jeff Jarrett. So Ric is officially stripped of the title, and Jeff is the new champion.
Jarrett takes the mic and belt and says that finally the man with all the stroke has once again proven that he is the Chosen One. Russo takes the mic again and pulls out Flair's watch, and says he'll do the right thing and bury it with Ric's career. So he goes to put it in there and all of a sudden Nash pops up and grabs him by the throat, throwing Russo to the floor. He gets in the ring, big boot for David, Jeff sent off the ropes into a big boot. Nash grabs the belt, crotch chops Russo and leaves with the gold into commercial.
Back from break, Russo, Jarrett and David are backstage with... some interviewer, even Russo doesn't know her name as he takes the mic and screams into it, and tells Nash he has 45 min to give it back, and if not, it'll be Nash and Jarrett, No Holds Barred and they'll take it from him, and they storm off.
So now Steiner makes his way out with a couple of cheerleaders and there's a chair set up in the middle of the ring. He gets a mic and says it's always great to come back to the neighborhood, because Michigan is where he started taking his freaks to ecstasy. He mumbles some kind of gibberish before saying he's proven many a time between the sheets that he is the Superman. He says all his freaks know that when the dark side of the moon rises, the flip-side of the Big Bad Booty Daddy comes out, and it's about love, taste and touch, and they know there's nothing finer than doing the 69'er with Scott Steiner.
He says it's no secret he was born with a wild hair up his ass, and his friends have always told him that he's out of control and lacks discipline, and one day might end up in jail. He says he's been to the cell and been through hell, but he's always survived, so from now on where he goes the cell goes, and hell goes with him. He points up to the dome-like cage I mentioned, he calls it The Asylum, and says its real easy to get in, but to get out you have to say "I quit". He says there's two people he wants to see face the Genetic Freak, his brother and Tank, so he calls them out.
Well on cue, out comes Rick without Tank and the Asylum is being lowered to the ring for this match.
Asylum Match: Scott Steiner (WCW U.S. Heavyweight Champion) vs Rick Steiner
The cage hasn't even been fully lowered yet but the bell is rung as Scott attacks, Scott sent off the ropes into a clothesline. Rick with mounted rights, then a belly to belly slam. Rights and stomps, more rights and the cage is down. Rick tries to send Scott face first into the cage but blocks, then sends Rick into it, then his spinning belly to belly slam. Rick into the cage twice, then a belly to belly overhead. Steiner locks in the Recliner, then Goldberg's music hits and Tank does the Goldberg entrance with a pair of bolt cutters in hand. Steiner releases the hold as Tank comes out, and his nameplate says "Tankberg". Tank starts cutting through the wall of the cage but no use. Rick face first into the cage, Tank goes to ringside and attacks the ref who has the controls for the cage and starts to raise it.
Tank and Rick double team Scott now and now Nash comes out with title in hand. Nash with the title to the face of Tank and Rick sends them out of the ring. So I guess this is a no contest in 3:15.
Rick and Tank head to the back and Nash's music hits as he stares them down. Jarrett is watching this backstage and it goes to commercial.
Back from break, the nameless interviewer is waiting on Nash and up he walks and she asks why he helped Steiner. Nash also has no idea who she is, she introduces herself as Pamela Paulshock, the new WCW interviewer. She asks him to answer the question, and turns his attention to Russo, he says he's an easy man to find and if they want the belt, and makes the challenge set earlier to put the title on the line officially. Nash checks out her ass before leaving.
We see Terry Taylor in the back talking to Reid, then out to the arena for another match.
Chuck Palumbo (w/ R&B Security & Elizabeth) vs Diamond Dallas Page
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: We get a replay from Thunder of Luger beating the crap out of Palumbo at the gym. Palumbo comes out to his own music for once though he's in Luger's attire.
Right hands by Page, then some quick back and forth, until Page hits a belly to belly slam for a cover and two. Page with some rights and a clothesline, then Chuck reverses a whip off the ropes, but Page catches him for a sitout powerbomb and a two count. Low blow by Palumbo then a side kick, then he calls for Liz, who climbs the apron and slaps him in the face, Page with the roll up but Palumbo kicks out, then they take each other out with clotheslines.
Kimberly comes out with a bat and whacks Liz right in the back with it, then Page with a Uranagi, cover but the ref has gone to check on Liz. Awesome is seen coming through the crowd with the halo in hand and whacks Page with it in the face. Palumbo gets him up with the Rack and the ref calls for the bell in 2:58.
Luger's out to check on Liz as Awesome and Palumbo beat down Page. Luger comes in but Kimberly holds onto his leg, and Luger's hit in the face with the Lex Flexer. Doctor checks on Lex as Palumbo and Awesome leave with Liz and security, Luger's loaded onto a stretcher.
Up next, Reid and Terry are on their way out.
Back from break, we see what happened with Liz and Luger before the break, then we see Lex with a towel over his face as they're loading him into the ambulance, and what's supposed to be blood stained on his shirt. Page is screaming to get him in the ambulance. Then we cut to Kimberly telling Liz she brought this all on herself.
Back to the arena, Ric's music but out comes Terry with mic in hand and Reid by his side. Terry holds the mic for Reid and he says he has something important to say, asking his brother David to come out. Out he comes along with Daffney. Reid apologizes and says that he, Ashley and their mom miss him and need him, especially Ric. David gets on the mic and tells Reid he doesn't know what it's like when Ric isn't home. Terry tries to calm him down but David just tells him to shut up, then Daffney smashes a mini-statue over the back of Terry's head. David starts pushing Reid but Reid gets him with a double leg take down and a side headlock, but David elbows him in the gut and shoves him down, then actually puts Reid in a brief figure 4, but officials are quick to rush the ring and break it up. David and Daffney leave as they check on Terry into commercial.
We get replays of what just happened, and Tony tells us Reid is alright, as we get to our next match.
Vampiro vs Hulk Hogan
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: Vamp comes out with a blow torch and a can of gasoline. Then we get a replay of Thunder, where Sting was in the ring and the ropes barely caught fire... except the ropes are actually ablaze in this footage, so I guess they got a second take?
Vamp right on the attack as Hogan slides in, then a roundhouse kick to the chest. Rights in the corner, corner punches to the back of the head by Vamp, then a chop sends him out of the ring. Double sledge off the apron to the back, then Hulk sent into the guard rail. Chair to the back of Hulk, then a side kick. Hulk rakes the eyes, then a chair across Vamp's back, then a second time, then Vamp whipped into the guard rail. Hulk with right hands onto the announce table sends Vamp tumbling over it. Vamp face first into it and it tips over before going back in the ring.
Hulk takes off his weight belt and whips Vamp across the back twice before choking him with it, followed by rapid rights. Scoop slam by Hulk and a few elbow drops. Hulk biting Vamp into the corner followed by more rights, Vamp whipped across the ring followed by a clothesline by Hogan. Vamp sent off the ropes and turned inside out with a clothesline, then Hulk with a low blow. Vamp sent off the ropes into a big boot, Hulk with the leg drop, but mounts for more right hands instead of going for the cover. Kidman comes out and nails Hulk in the back of the head with the blowtorch, Vamp covers and wins in 4:45.
Sting comes out as Vamp goes for the gas can and Kidman bails, Sting nails the Scorpion Deathdrop. Sting's music hits as Hogan talks some trash into the camera, Sting drops the gas can onto Vamp and Hulk whips him with the belt, then Sting into commercial.
Back outside we catch up with Norman and Ralphus, and up walks the Animals and they're obviously pissed and start beating down Ralphus, then MIA make the save. Major Guns is called over but she really doesn't wanna do mouth to mouth, but they insist but she agrees to do it, and ends up getting tongue for her trouble, so she slaps Ralphus.
We get a replay of what happened before the break, then it's time for the main event. We get a replay of what happened during the funeral when Nash took the belt as Jarrett comes out. Russo comes out with his security and he slides in the ring, nailing the referee so I guess he's going to act as referee for this.
No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere Match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Jeff Jarrett (c) vs Kevin Nash
Special Guest Referee: Vince Russo?
Jarrett with a cheap shot as Nash is distracted by this confusion, rights in the corner by Jarrett, Nash reverses a whip across the ring, catches Jarrett as he tries to go up and over and delivers Snake Eyes, then drops the leg. Sidewalk slam as he sends Jeff off the ropes, cover, Russo counts one then tells Nash to suck it. Nash scares Russo out of the ring as Jarrett slides out, grabs a chair and nails Nash in the face with it. Nash is right back up and clotheslines Jarrett to the outside.
Nash with rights now, Jarrett face first into the apron, then dropped from Nash's shoulder face first on the apron, cover and more crotch chops by Russo. Nash goes after Russo in the ring, corners him then Jarrett nails Nash in the face with the title. Jarrett covers, Russo fast counts but Nash kicks out. Jarrett with more rights now, Nash reverses a whip off the ropes, goes for a jackknife but Russo maces him. Jarrett delivers the Stroke as Steiner's siren plays prematurely, then his music plays. Steiner rushes down and goes after Jarrett with rights and a clothesline, then Russo maces him and security rush Steiner out of the ring, cuffing him to the middle rope.
Russo tries to pull Jeff on top but Nash grabs Russo by the throat, puts his knee on Jarrett, tells Russo to count and he does, but Jarrett kicks out. Russo rolls out of the ring and Nash takes out his security as he tries to get his hands on Russo. Nash tries to powerbomb Russo, but once again someone botches the bloodbath and it splatters just an inch or two where Nash is standing, then Jarrett smashes a guitar over his head. Jarrett puts his foot on Nash's chest, Russo counts and Jarrett retains in 4:50.
Jarrett climbs into the ring as Steiner hangs there by the wrists, Russo holds up the title, Russo is covered in "blood" as he and Jarrett make their escape up the ramp. Bischoff comes out with a mic and says they're too much, and on June 11, it's the end of Hogan, Flair gone for good, and if Nash thinks this is an ass kicking he hasn't seen anything yet, then Russo tells the fans to bite them. Jarrett's music hits again as Steiner is freed from the cuffs, then the music cuts off again as Bischoff asks Jarrett how it feels to be champion again, and he says he's once again proven that he's the Chosen One, then calls everyone slapass and tells them to choke on it as the show fades out.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Normally I can find something to enjoy on these shows, but aside from the Slim Jim commercial and Reid... well, just Reid, this was a shit show practically top to bottom. I mean even the action was lacklustre at best and everything was rushed. With a run time of 1:30:33, there was a total 29:11 of wrestling.
Thunder
We start with a recap of Nitro, then we go outside to Nash and Steiner pulling up to the arena, then the opening intro to the show.
They come to us from the Wendler Arena in Saginaw, Michigan. Tony, Tenay and Heenan on commentary to welcome us to the show and we get to our first match.
Triple Threat Match for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Chris Candido (w/Tammy Sytch) vs The Artist (w/ Paisley) vs Daffney (c)
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: Candido and Tammy out first and he takes the mic, he says it feels so good to be the first couple of sports entertainment, and he has to be the luckiest guy alive with Tammy on his arm. He starts laughing at some fat guy in the crowd that we don't get to see before Tammy takes the mic, wanting to give the ladies some advice, that if they want their man to want them as much as they want her, they've gotta have it going on, and she calls them beasts and says they're clueless by the looks of it, then calls for her music as she removes her robe to reveal a sexy dress. Artist then comes out and now Paisley's got a mic, to present who we really came to see, the man who will take us straight to ecstasy, The Artist FKA Prince Iaukea. Now we go backstage to Mean Gene who's with Daffney, clad in a black wedding dress, wondering where her fiancee David is. She said she's in a bad situation and wanted a ring, not the wrestling ring, but it's OK because she's going to get married and she gets all giddy. Then she gives Gene the "there's something on your shirt" gag before walking off giggling.
Daffney slips away from the chaos as the ladies and the men go at it, and Ms. Hancock comes out. Artist sent off the ropes into a powerslam, cover and Daffney breaks it up. Candido sent off the ropes into a Samoan drop, cover and Daffney breaks it up. Trading rights until the simultaneously knock each other down, Daffney tries to take advantage covering Artist but he kicks out, then Candido who kicks out. Artist grabs Daffney, sends her off the ropes and gets her with a drop toe hold, then Candido off the ropes with a leg drop, cover but Artist breaks it up. They go at it as Crowbar runs down with a slingshot crossbody onto Artist and they roll out of the ring fighting. Tammy hands Ms. Hancock some money and takes her clipboard Hancock now heading to the back. Candido holds up Daffney and Tammy tries to hit her with the clipboard but nails Candido instead, they fall back and Daffney gets the pin and retains in 2:09.
Tammy checks on Candido as Crowbar and Daffney head to the back celebrating, then Tammy and Candido close behind with him stumbling around.
We cut to the back where Russo is asking Bischoff for help with Nash and Steiner, saying he's supposed to be the brains of the operation. Eric says he stepped in the bucket all by himself and tells him to take care of Steiner and Nash, saying he has his own problems with Horace and Billy. He says Russo's got their security, but Russo says he wouldn't leave them with his worst enemy. He asks Kimberly to keep an eye on Liz for him because he can't deal with her tonight, handing Kimberly his bat because she may need it and he leaves. Kimberly asks how this is supposed to make her a star and Eric just groans with his head in his hand.
We cut to Norman and Ralphus who have a table set up selling various discount bath supplies from earlier in the day and up walks Douglas, so they try to sell them some stuff. He says he hates seeing wrestlers reduced to this, and just happens to be looking for an opponent for the Hardcore Title, so offers them a Handicap Match tonight with the title on the line. Norman points out that they were fired, but Douglas assures them that he and Bischoff are close and can get it done. He says Eric owes him a big one, so they shake on it and he walks off into commercial.
Back from break, we cut to Kimberly in the back applying some makeup, with Liz sat behind her. She says she's sorry to see what happened to Lex on Nitro, but Eric told her that she's going to have her own dressing room in the next couple of weeks, and she's sick of dressing with all these girls. She's gonna have her own name on the door and star, because stars always have their own dressing rooms, and he also said she needs her own assistant and suggests maybe Liz could do that, but she'll have to dress a lot better. She also wants Liz to put lotion on her back but she protests.
Now to the arena for a match.
Handicap Match for the WCW Hardcore Championship: Norman Smiley & Ralphus vs The Franchise (c)
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: Douglas comes out with a mic as we get a replay of what happened on Nitro. He says the fans should be giving him a round of applause right now, pointing out that he said he was going to accomplish some things when he stepped foot in the company, knock some asses around, and Funk found out how damned efficient he is at franchising people's asses, and singlehandedly took out the hardcore legend. He brings up "Dick" Flair now, he says he told us he'd take him out like a hunk of cancer and cut him out of WCW, and true to his word, he's gone. Since he's a giving person, he says he's giving a couple of jabronis a chance at a big payoff, a chance at the Hardcore Champion, the true franchise of WCW. Out they come with a chair and a trash can of weapons. Ralphus comes out in a gorilla suit, and we see Bischoff and Cat in the back wondering what the hell Douglas is doing.
Douglas gets Norman in the head with a trash can as Ralphus tries to enter the ring in the suit, another shot to Norman's head, then a kendo stick shot to the back, and again. Trash can to the head of Norman again, then a reverse snapmare. Ralphus gets the kendo stick but Douglas scares him back, Norman now with a trash can to Douglas' head, and again, but Ralphus refuses to use the trash can lid Norman gives him, so Douglas nails Norman with it. Ralphus leaves the ring, Douglas whipped into the corner into a scoop slam and Ralphus rolls in, covers but Douglas kicks out.
Norman starts the Big Wiggle but Douglas gets a low blow, then a stick to the gut and back of Norman as Ralphus cowers in the corner, scared off by Douglas. Douglas sent off the ropes but gets Norman with a swinging neckbreaker. Douglas toys with Ralphus, then a stalling suplex on Norman. Ralphus shields himself with a trash can lid, teases using it but doesn't, then very lightly does when Douglas' back is turned. Norman is tossed onto the ramp, then an elbow to the head by Douglas before tossing him back in the ring. Ralphus runs off, then comes back, Shane gets the chair and Norman can't even stand. Lid to the head of Norman, Ralphus comes back in, Norman with a low blow and rights and headbutts. Lid to the head of Douglas, then again, Norman covers and Shane kicks out.
Ralphus pulls out a table and slides it into the ring, Norman sets it up and Douglas kicks Ralphus through the ropes. Chain tot he head of Norman, then slams Norman through the table. Ralphus has the chain and starts nailing Douglas, dropping him to the mat, then a chair to Douglas' head, cover and wins the title in 6:42. Christ that went too damn long.
OK so it wasn't Ralphus, it was Funk, winning back the title much to the dismay of Bischoff, calling him a cockroach. He tells Cat to go Jackie Chan his ass, so he leaves. Funk celebrates with Norman.
Now we cut to Russo, David, security and... Russo calls her Mrs. Snodgrass, and just tells her to tell them the truth out there. Then we see Steiner and Nash wearing ski goggles for some reason into commercial.
We get a video package recapping the Flairs/Russo feud, then out comes Russo and co. that we saw before the break, along with Daffney. Russo's got a mic and asks for total silence, because thanks to Nash grabbing his throat he's barely got a voice. He says we're going to have another expose, because it disgusted him how on Nitro they booed David but little punk Reid. He introduces us to Mrs. Snodgrass, Reid's 6th Grade teacher, who's here to tell us the real story of that brat from Charlotte.
He holds the mic for her and she says he's a hellion, a hell raiser, and wants us to know he's terrible in her class. She says she called his home and told his parents, and they boo her and she tells them to be quiet. She says Reid gave her his best friend's telephone number, and he taught the boys to do armpit farts, then something about mirrors to look up all the girls' dresses. I think Russo tries to suggest Reid gets high or at least smoke after school with his friends but she says they suck all the helium out of balloons.
Now David is given the mic and tells the fans to shut up as they boo, then talks to Ric since he's probably watching at home with "Champ" and hopes Reid is crying his eyes out right now. He says that next time he should do what his brother tells him to do, and since he can't retire their dad at the Bash, he challenges Reid to a match instead.
Thank fuck Nash is here with a mic. He says he can't think of who's ass he wants to kick more than Russo's right now, and he's going to go down there in a minute to do just that, but he has someone who wants a piece too, and out comes Steiner. They head to the ring with goggles on and lay out security. Russo gives David right to them and he gets a jackknife. Nash gets another mic as Steiner kicks David out, he says they just came out to make a deal, and tells them to let the lady go. Russo says if they screw him they're dead, and lets Mrs. Snodgrass go.
Nash immediately grabs Russo by the neck and brings him to his knees, and Scott takes the mic. He says he warned Russo's New York ass about showing up and now he has two choices: either give them a 3-Way Dance for the World Title or Nash is going to powerbomb his ass straight to hell, and Russo starts screaming that they've got their match, so Nash lets him go into commercial.
We see what happened during commercial with Russo coming back to Jarrett, Russo can barely speak and Jarrett's basically telling he should have stood up for himself like a man, and shouldn't be handing out title shots.
Then we cut to Bischoff chewing out Douglas. He tries to be calm at first but says Douglas is on very thin ice, then Cat starts to repeat until Bischoff turns his head and looks at him funny. Bischoff tells Douglas to go get Funk, do it tonight, get it over with, bring Bischoff his kidney, liver, an ear, a tooth, he doesn't care, but he has to get it done because Douglas is this close. Douglas leaves to get it done.
Filthy Animals come out now and Konnan's got a mic. He says since MIA think they're some kind of infantry, rocking the camo, he says the Animals are the original soldiers. He says he knows WCW's made bad investments like the Millionaire's Club and MIA, but they're going to leave them laying worse then R&B Security, and calls MIA out.
8-Man Elimination Tag Team Match: Filthy Animals (Rey Mysterio Jr., Konnan, Disco Inferno & Juventud Guerrera vs Misfits in Action (Capt. Rection, Lt. Loco, Major Stash & Cpl. Cajun) (w/ Major Guns)
Big brawl to start the match, Juvie pressed slammed to the outside onto Konnan, now everyone splashes Disco in the corner, then Guns low blows him, Animals retreat to ringside. Now the match properly starts with Loco and Juvie, Juvie sent off the ropes, slips through the legs and clotheslines Loco out onto the ramp, then gets back dropped back in the ring, Loco gets a running start and dives over the ropes with a shoulder block.
Cajun tags in, sends Juvie off the ropes who catches him with a chop, comes off the ropes but gets caught in a... something but lands on his feet. Rey tags in and they start trading shots, Rey sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, goes for a tilt-a-whirl but Cajun turns it into a sidewalk slam. Rights by Cajun and a clothesline, cover and a two count. Rey sent off the ropes, through the legs and tags in Juvie. Sunset flip by Juvie, Cajun tries to stay upright but Rey dropkicks him down but Cajun kicks out. Cajun with rights into the corner, but Juvie reverses a whip across the ring, goes for a monkey flip but Cajun catches him and sets him down on the top rope. He goes for Frankensteiner but Disco comes in and he and Juvie sent Cajun down with a powerbomb and Cajun's out.
Animals 4, MIA 3
Rection in now clearing the ring of the Animals, then tags in Stash, atomic drop on Disco, off the ropes into a big boot, then an elbow, cover and a two count. Disco sent off the ropes into a swinging spinebuster, cover but Rey pulls him off. Juvie tags in with a dropkick, then goes up top but Stash crotches him, then he's supposed to hit a cobra clutch slam but somebody fucks it up and it looks sloppy. Stash goes to cover and Juvie won't turn to his back, then Disco comes in and starts whacking everyone with a kendo stick, Rey goes up top with a chair-assisted leg drop to the back of Stash, covers and Stash is out.
Animals 4, MIA 2
Loco's in with Disco, Loco sent off the ropes into n atomic drop, then a swinging neckbreaker. Loco whipped into the corner but gets Disco with an elbow, then Loco gets the tornado DDT, cover and Disco's out.
Animals 3, MIA 2
Rection goes after Juvie briefly, then to Rey as Juvie goes after Loco. Rection slides Rey under the ropes to the floor, then Loco tries for the tornado DDT on Juvie but he blocks, then tries for a scoop slam but Loco slips behind into an inverted DDT slam. He moves Juvie into position before tagging in Rection, who goes up top an delivers the moonsault, cover, but now Stasiak's out, Rey whacks Loco with a kendo stick and Stasiak attacks Rection in the corner. Rey with a bronco buster on Loco. Now Booker's out in camo and goes after Rey, then Stasiak. Spinebuster on Rey, then we briefly see a fight in the back. For reasons not explained, Rection gets his arm raised as Booker's music hits, so I guess MIA wins this one in about 8:46. You know I was actually enjoying this match, but once again WCW ruins everything with their bullshit.
We cut backstage where Bischoff is sitting with Horace, Kidman and Torrie. Eric says he's tired of this, he doesn't want to be a camp counselor, marriage counselor, babysitter, and wants to put an end to this, trying to convince Kidman he can trust Horace, and Horace needs to trust Kidman in return. He tells Torrie to try and stay out of the middle of this, and tonight they're teaming up, telling them to do what they need to do, so everyone knows where they stand going into the PPV. Horace tells Kidman he's tired of the complaining and by the end of the night, he'll be able to trust him. Kidman says he doesn't trust anything he says, and tells him to keep his eyes and hands to himself before leaving with Torrie.
Back to Kimberly and Liz now, and Kimberly's talking about brocoli now, how the stems shouldn't be eaten, and notices Liz isn't listening. She tells her if she had spent the time listening to the right people, Lex might not be needing plastic surgery. She says she needs a shiatsu massage and suggests maybe Liz do it, but she tips over Kimberly's chair, takes the bat Russo had given her and leaves into commercial.
Russo is somewhere dark talking to Tank and Rick, but we can't hear anything. Then we see Douglas looking around for Funk. Then back to the arena.
Tables Match: The Wall vs Chuck Palumbo
Pre-Match Notes & Thoughts: We see what happened to Lex on Nitro, Tony gives us an update and says Lex has a shattered nose, broken eye socket, and damage in the face. Palumbo comes out doing Lex's tonight. We see what happened last week when Douglas left Wall to fend for himself against Kronic, then put Douglas through a table.
Lock up briefly until Chuck delivers rights and headbutts, then one from Wall, then a clothesline. We're not a minute into this TABLES match and we already have a pin attempt and the ref counts it. Sigh. Wall with a suplex, then press slams Chuck throat first on the top rope. Wall now with a middle rope sleeper, then a big boot. Wall picks up Chuck on his shoulder, aiming to send him through a table at ringside but Chuck slips out, off the ropes but caught by the throat. He goes to chokeslam him from in the ring out through the table but Chuck elbows his way out, then knocks Wall out to the apron. Wall then tries to suplex him out to the floor but... I don't know if it was a counter or if the balance screwed things up, but it looks like they both drop throat first on the top rope. Palumbo grabs the Lex Flexer, nails Wall, and sends him through the table for the win in 2:47.
Wall sits up as Chuck poses, but he escapes and Wall chases after him to the back.
Back to Bischoff with Horace and he says the only way to settle this is to take care of business, then Kimberly walks in, telling Eric she's lost Liz. Eric tells her to go find her into commercial.
Back from break, we see when Horace turned on Hulk, then Kidman attacking Horace on Thunder, then their match this week on Nitro.
Now Bischoff is out with Horace, Kidman and Torrie, and already friction with Kidman and Horace. Eric has a mic and says the people put a smile on his face, and a song in his heart. He plugs the Bash, and says it'll be known as the day the music died, specifically that Hulk Hogan music, the red and yellow pain in his ass. Flair's gone, Hogan's gone, and New Blood will reign supreme. He turns his attention to Kidman and Horace, saying they're all one big happy family, because Horace knows what family's really about, what Hollywood Hogan, his famous uncle, is really about.
Horace takes the mic and says he's been there over 3 years, and has seen his sorry ass uncle ruin dozens of careers, with his greediness, selfishness, and backstabbing crap. He goes to say more but Eric takes the mic and says it's enough. Eric says he's so proud of this family that he's going to issue a challenge to anybody in the back.
Horace Hogan & Billy Kidman (w/ Torrie Wilson & Eric Bischoff) vs Kronic (WCW Tag Team Champions)
Kidman sent off the ropes into double shoulders. Kidman sent off the ropes into a back elbow. Kidman sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits a dropkick, but runs into a tilt-a-whirl slam by Adams. Choking by Adams, then whips Kidman into the corner, goes for a back suplex, but Kidman gets him with his bulldog. Kidman goes for a tag but gets cut off, then Clark tags in. Rights by Clark in the corner, Kidman sent off the ropes, goes for a sunset flip but gets pulled by the neck, then put down with a full nelson slam.
Kidman pressed up over Clark's head, but slips out into a sleeper, only to be thrown to the mat. Kidman up in the corner gets the boots up as Clark charges, to the middle rope, leaps onto Clark's shoulders and hits a nice hurricanrana. Kidman tries to make a tag but Horace says "up yours", and Bischoff confronts him, pie facing Bischoff to the floor. Kidman sent off the ropes into a double press slam. Bischoff grabs a chair but Horace takes it away, threatens to hit Bichoff, then Kronic hit Kidman with High Time. Clark goes after Bischoff, then Adams holds up Kidman for Horace, who then just whacks Adams with the chair over the head, then DDTs Clark onto the chair. Kidman falls on top of Adams and gets the win in 4:10.
Bischoff and co. leave the ring to the back and they're still arguing, but shake hands reluctantly.
Now we cut to Ralphus and Norman, and Douglas walks in looking for Funk, asking how much Funk paid them to pull what they did earlier, and Norman says double what Douglas did. Norman says he's gone and Douglas gets him with a cheap shot, then grabs Ralphus and they leave into commercial.
Back to the arena now and Douglas is shoving Ralphus down the ramp to the ring. Ralphus is begging for mercy on his knees, but Douglas isn't having any of it. Douglas attacks, and suddenly Wall's music hits and out he comes. Douglas with rights, then Wall with some, Wall off the ropes with a big boot, sends him to the outside. Wall gets a chair but Douglas whips him into the guard rail and hits a clothesline. Wall face first off the apron, then the announce table. Norman's out to check on Ralphus, then Douglas launches off the apron, only to be caught by Wall and chokeslammed through the announce table. Wall's music hits and he heads to the back, while Norman helps Ralphus out.
Now to the back, Gene is with Booker and MIA, who's pointing out that Booker was fired on Nitro. Booker says that from here on he doesn't want to be called Booker T, he's to be addressed as... Sigh, GI Bro. God, this is just a week of shit, huh? He says eight years ago Bischoff hired Booker T, and on Nitro he fired Booker T, so as far as he's concerned Booker T is dead, and the Misfits have found GI Bro, and is gonna rock and roll going forward. Then he turns his attention to Stasiak, who he says will be his first casualty of war tonight.
We cut to Russo and Jarrett arguing backstage and all of a sudden Russo's voice is better. I could've sworn Russo said "New York style," whatever that means and we go to commercial.
We see Steiner doing pushups with his ladies, and Nash reading a newspaper in preparation of their title match, then we cut to a couple of security guys, and Kimberly walks up, saying she needs them to go look for Liz and off they go.
Shawn Stasiak vs G.I. Bro
Stasiak attacks as Bro's stepping through the ropes, face first into the corner. Boots in the corner by Stasiak, Bro sent off the ropes into a back elbow. Bro choked over the top rope, reverses a whip off the ropes, then uses his camo pants to choke Stasiak and toss him to the outside, followed by a clothesline off the apron. Stasiak face first off the guard rail then back in the ring. Face first in the corner, then whipped into the corner and Bro with a clothesline. Corner punches now, until Stasiak drops him throat first on the top rope. Now stomping away, Bro face first in the corner, raking the back and more rights before tossing Bro to the outside. Bro face first off the new announce table, then the guard rail before being tossed back in. Stasiak up top with a flying clothesline, cover and a near fall.
Back suplex attempt by Stasiak but Bro turns midair and lands on Stasiak for a cover and a two count. Bro ducks a clothesline, then gets a roll up and a two count, only to walk into a clothesline by Stasiak, cover and a two count, followed by a headlock. Booker fights out, only for Stasiak to drive him back down, then a gutwrench, cover and a near fall. Stasiak goes out and grabs a chair but Bro ducks, off the ropes and a scissors kick. Stasiak sent off the ropes into a Harlem Side Kick, cover but Stasiak kicks out.
Bro goes for a suplex but Stasiak slips out, then goes I think for the Hennig-plex but Booker fights out, Stasiak reverses a whip off the ropes but gets caught with the Book End, cover and the win for Bro in 4:59. Finally a match without the usual bullshit. Setting aside this godawful GI Bro gimmick, I enjoyed this match.
Stasiak is back up and gets Bro with the chair, then stomps and delivers rights, and then Stasiak's music hits and he leaves. Then we get a preview of an interview up next with Sting.
Back from break, we get an interview Tenay did with Sting sometime before this show. Tenay starts by saying Sting's been involved with many physical rivalries in his time with WCW, but it seems this thing with Vamp is more mental than physical, which makes Sting chuckle a bit. Sting wants to puke on that comment, and Vamp doesn't mean anything to him. He says he's been there 10 years, he learned the tricks, the dirty tricks from guys like Slick Rick. He reminds us of when the NWO formed, with Hall and Nash, and he was the one playing the mind games when WCW was getting ready to crumble. He says he'll one-up Vamp, and Vamp will run out of one-ups.
Tenay brings up how Sting has mentioned numerous times that he sees similarities between himself and Vamp, and we know Vamp is sick and twisted, but asks what Sting sees of himself in Vamp. He says that about 10 years ago he was about as sick and twisted as Vamp is, maybe. He says Vamp has the same fire in his eyes that he himself had 10 years ago, and still does.
Tenay says there are a lot of people that think Vamp is getting the edge in this mental war, and Sting stands up, as Tenay explains just the fact he's going to be involved. Sting didn't think he'd be going in this direction, Tenay says he seems a little uncomfortable but Sting says he's fine and tells him to ask his question. Tenay wants to ask about the Human Torch Match, that people think Vamp is getting under his skin, and Sting sits back down. Sting asks if Tenay is trying to scare him out of doing the match, if Vamp is paying him off now. He says lighting someone is fire is crazy, stupid, but he's never turned down one challenge, Vamp challenges him on national television he's not going to say no. Tenay asks if it's worth risking his career...
Then the lights go out and we can here Vamp say he'll answer for him. We hear grunts and groans from Sting as Tenay asks for security, then suddenly the camera fades back in to whatever set they were on on fire, with Sting trying to put it out with his jacket, Sting leaves in search of Vamp.
We cut to Gene who's with Kimberly and asks how she's going to explain the disappearance to Russo and Bischoff. She says she doesn't know and doesn't care, that this day has been so annoying. She says she's spent the entire time chasing around after that stupid girl Liz, with no time for her Pilates or aromatherapy, no time to prepare for the show, and now she has this interview, and she's shiny. She says this is all Liz's fault and when she gets her hands her... Well she's interrupted by Liz who comes over and elbows her, then starts choking Kimberly with what looks like a scarf and drags her off camera into commercial.
Back from break, out comes DDP and he gets a mic. He has three words for Bischoff: He really sucks. He says for years he's been hearing Eric tell people how he made Page. He calls Eric a monkey and sets it straight that Eric didn't make him, he made himself by busting his ass in spite of Eric. He says that pisses Eric off, so much so that the first thing he does when he's back with his fat, hamburger eating, Cheese Whiz sucking, slimy rat bastard ass, is turn his wife against him, but it wasn't enough for him. He says Eric's gotta go after a guy who's like family to Page, and have Kanyon taken out by that goof Awesome. He says it tells him that Awesome isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
Suddenly we see Liz dragging Kimberly it looks like out to the arena, and Page says he's gonna take Awesome out at the Bash. Now out comes Liz and Kimberly, bringing her right to Page. Suddenly there's a chair set up in the ring and Page sits down, pulls Kimberly over his lap and spanks her, one for turning on him, one for hitting him with a chair, one for hitting him with a guitar, and one for the hell of it, and three more with it. We see Liz being grabbed by someone at the top of the ramp and Page stands up.
Now we cut to... I don't know if it's supposed to be live footage or pre-taped, but Awesome is at Kanyon's bedside, who's asleep right now. Awesome says he looks so peaceful, sedated, vulnerable and could have his way with him right now, but that'd be too easy. He turns to the camera to talk to Page, so I guess it is supposed to be live footage, and promises to take good care of Kanyon, in fact he won't feel a thing. He asks the camera crew to leave because he wants to leave the rest to Page's imagination as Page makes his way to the back, and the camera feed cuts out.
We see Jarrett backstage with guitar in hand, then Nash and Steiner, that match next.
We see footage from during the break where Page is on the phone with the hospital to get security to Kanyon's room now, then to the main event.
We see what happened on Monday when Nash helped out Steiner, and Russo gets a mic as Steiner makes his way out. He calls the ref out to ringside and now Russo will ref this match... or he's supposed to except he runs through the crowd and the actual ref calls for the bell.
Triple Threat Match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Jeff Jarrett (c) vs Kevin Nash vs Scott Steiner (WCW U.S. Heavyweight Champion)
Special Guest Referee: Vince Russo?
Nash runs after him and Jarrett attacks Steiner from behind, now with right hands. Steiner reverses a whip off the ropes and hits a clothesline, then an elbow drop. Steiner with the gorilla press and Nash returns to the ring without Russo. Steiner with rights in the corner. Russo managed to lap the arena because now he comes out through the entrance way with R&B Security. Jarrett back first in the corner in the tree of woe, while Nash pulls back on the neck from ringside. Steiner goes after Russo who tries to hit him with a bat but Steiner blocks it. The ref takes the bat away and Steiner grabs Russo by the throat and threatens to hit him, but then we see Rick and Tank has gotten hold of Steiner's girls, so Steiner chases after them.
Back to the ring, Nash is choking Jarrett in the corner, then drops Russo as he tries a bat shot. Jarrett grabs the bat as Nash goes for the jackknife and hits him over the back with it. More shots to the arm and the side of the head with the bat, more to the ribs and right hands. Rights in the corner by Jarrett, then Nash nails the ref with a clothesline by accident. Jarrett grabs the title, but Nash ducks and nails Jarrett with it. Nash wakes up the ref but Russo pulls him out of the ring, then Russo waffles the ref with the guitar. Jarrett nails Nash in the head with a chair, Russo puts on the ref shirt, cover but Nash kicks out.
We have another referee trying to get to the ring but R&B Security are blocking his path, but Steiner's back out and lays em all out back to back with clotheslines. Then one to Jarrett back into the ring. Russo retreats, Nash hits Jarrett with the jackknife, covers, the new ref counts and we have a new champion in 4:59. So much blatant bullshit in one match.
Jarrett's tossed to the outside as Nash and Steiner celebrate as the show plays out.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Well this show was slightly better than Nitro. At least there were a few things I enjoyed, even though in the end they were muddled by bullshit. Still though, it was bad. That said, with a run time of 1:34:24, there was a total 34:32 of wrestling.
