WWF Week of June 5, 2000 Recap

RAW
- McMahons nearly implode to start the show arguing about the #1 contender situation, then Vince announces a three-way between Kane, Rock and Taker to name the sole contender. The implosion later turns out to be a ruse.
- T&A and Val Venis beat Too Cool and Rikishi after a belt shot on Sexay by Val
- Crash tries to sneak up on Brisco to get the Hardcore Title but gets a door closed in his face. He also later tries to sneak attack Brisco but gets Patterson instead.
- Benoit qualifies for King of the Ring with a win over Road Dogg after interference by the Dudleyz
- Brisco successfully defends the Hardcore Title in an impromptu defense against Crash with help from Patterson
- Rock beats Taker and Kane after interference from HHH, earning a shot at the title later in the night.
- Eddie and Chyna get the clean win over Godfather and Malenko after Eddie counters a tilt-a-whirl into a small package
- Hardcore Holly qualifies for King of the Ring with a clean victory over Farooq
- Team ECK beats Jericho and The Dudleyz after an Angle Slam on Bubba. Angle then gets put through a table with a 3D.
- Hardyz get a clean win over Boss Man and Buchanan. Boss Man then turns on Buchanan after the match with a nightstick shot.
- Stephanie announces a Battle Royal for Smackdown to name a #1 contender for her Women's Title.
- HHH successfully defends the WWF Title against Rock, after Rock inadvertently nails Taker in the back with a chair and gets chokeslammed for it.

Smackdown
- Jericho qualifies for King of the Ring with a win over Test after Trish's interference backfires. 
- Faction gloats and celebrate about what they did on Raw, which brings out the former #1 contenders. It leads to a brawl, and Taker ends up nailing Rock in the head with a chair as he swings for X-Pac. Rock goes looking around for Taker but just ends up fighting with Kane.
- Too Cool successfully defend the Tag Titles against Godfather and Malenko after a Hip Hop Drop on Dean.
- Faction make a 6-man tag, between DX and Trips against Rock, Taker and Kane for later.
- Benoit successfully defends the IC Title over Jeff Hardy, then seemingly offers a show of respect only to clock Jeff with the title belt from behind.
- Dudleyz get a quick, clean win over Team ECK in a handicap match.
- Lita wins a battle royal to become number one contender, but then gets blindsided by Tori, and loses an immediate title match to Stephanie.
- Eddie Guerrero qualifies for King of the Ring with a clean win over Matt Hardy
- Rikishi gets a DQ win over Val Venis after Trish throws powder into his eyes. Kish gets busted open after Val slams the steps into his face. Then Val gets thrown off the stage and Kish dives off with a huge splash.
- Rock, Taker and Kane get a clean win over DX and HHH. Another brawl ensues and Rock ends up nailing Kane and Taker with a chair to end the show.

Side Note: Bubba Ray and Perry Saturn both qualify for King of the Ring, beating Boss Man and D-Von respectively on that Sunday's episode of Heat.
