WCW Week of July 17, 2000 Recap

Nitro
- Steiner destroys Booker's car
- Cat makes a one-night tournament for the vacated US Title, plus Steiner vs Goldberg with himself as ref
- Jarrett appears through the crowd to smash a guitar over Stevie Ray's head
- Awesome beats Kanyon with help from Buff and Judy to move on in the tournament
- Lance beats Buff after a distraction involving Buff's mother and Smooth to advance in the tournament, even though Buff didn't actually tap out
- Stevie gets a match with Jarrett
- Kanyon delivers a Kanyon Cutter to Judy Bagwell in the parking lot
- Muta gets a clean win over Vampiro to advance, then Vamp and ICP lay out Demon
- Steiner attacks Norman and Ralphus while he waits for Goldberg
- Douglas beats Kidman with help from Torrie despite a botched three count from the ref to advance
- We get a ladder match that's going to happen at the PPV anyways, with Jung Dragons beating 3 Count for their gold record
- Awesome gets a clean win over Muta to advance. Madden is also misted.
- Buff attacks Smooth and Kanyon makes the save
- Lance beats Douglas to advance, and Kidman tries to give Torrie a spanking. Lance gets a chair dropkicked in his face at some point.
- Jarrett beats Stevie with help from Midajah and Rick Steiner
- Lance gets a clean win over Awesome to win the US Title
- Goldberg vs Steiner ends in a no contest after Cat is attacked, Booker interferes and Nash interferes to lay out Goldberg

Thunder
- Mike Sanders wins his debut match against Crowbar after using Jarrett's guitar, who was out on commentary. Then a brawl breaks out between Jarrett, Rick and Harlem Heat.
- Cat makes Lenny Lane vs Wall in a Tables Match for a chance to get his job back
- Lance makes the US Title the Canadian Title and insults a far lady, which brings out Awesome, Kanyon, Kidman and Buff for a brawl.
- Mike Sanders is laid out throughout the night, first from a guitar by Jarrett, then a chair by Daffney, then a Kanyon Cutter
- Lane beats Wall in a Tables Match and gets his job back, and it's later implied Wall took a dive, which gets him fired.
- Filthy Animals steal Kronic's ring gear
- Loco retains the CW Title over David Flair after Hancock and Guns fight and cause a distraction. Guns then challenges Hancock to an ROTC Match at the PPV.
- Tank gets a win over Muta after interference by Jung Dragons is fought off by Cat
- Kronic beat Filthy Animals in a handicap match
- Douglas and Torrie read an interview from some magazine and lay Kidman out with a dumbbell
- Vito retains the Hardcore Title over Artist after a botched table spot
- Kanyon and Lance beat Buff and Awesome after a book shot
- Nash does some weird shoot interview talking about Hall and Goldberg, and then flat out says he's going over at the PPV because he said so.
-  Harlem Heat beat Jarrett and Rick clean, then are attacked post-match.
