WCW Week of July 31, 2000 Recap

Nitro
- Jarrett tries to ensure that Sting has no World Title match, attacks Sting and his wife, Sting makes the save, reveals he was never disfigured after being burned. Sting vs Jarrett is set for later, and his World Title match is still on.
- Vito beats Bagwell after he spends most of the match paranoid of a possible Kanyon attack
- Kanyon tries to lay out Pamela with a Kanyon Cutter, Okerlund makes the save, then gets a Kanyon Cutter instead. Buff then lays out Kanyon.
- Kwee-Wee beats Artist ckean
- Steiner demands a title match with Booker and Cat won't give it to him
- Norman hits on Midajah and gets laid out.
- Lance renames the Hardcore Title the Saskatchewan Hardcore International Title, then wins the Cruiserweight Title off of Loco. Nash interrupts his celebration and tries to stand up to Nash, but he's booted out of the ring.
- Nash cuts another "shoot" promo about Goldberg and Jean-Pierre Lafitte and wants Steiner, which leads to a fight. Cat makes a Straightjacket Match for later.
- Sting beats Jarrett with help from a chair, and Jarrett's taken out on a stretcher.
- Kronic retain the tag titles over Jindrak & O'Haire and Muta & Vamp, after a double pin results in confusion, but Kronic made the pin first.
- Douglas beats Kidman in Viagara on a Pole after distraction from Torrie, then force Kidman to take some. Kidman later takes some Nitro Girls back to his hotel as a result.
- Hancock beats Guns in a Hardcore Match after a scoop slam.
- Steiner presumably beats Nash in what's supposed to be a Straightjacket "Match" even though there's no referee, and it really only ends when one person feels like it. Plus no bells were rung.
- Booker retains the World Title against Sting after he's pulled under the ring and attacked by Demon. Jarrett returns from the hospital and Vamp and Muta come out. Sting is trapped in Demon's coffin and it's set on fire, while Booker's leg is strung up and has a guitar smashed over it by Jarrett to end the show.

Thunder
- Storm renames the Cruiserweight Title the 100kg and Under Championship, retaining over Juvie with a clean win
- AWOL beats David after chokeslamming him through a table
- Douglas stooges Kidman out to the boyfriend of one of the girls he took to his hotel room from Nitro, apparently his name is Reno.
- Skip Over is renamed "Primetime Plater" Elix Skipper, and beats Kidman with help from Reno.
- Douglas bumps into Judy backstage with leads to a confrontation and a match later with Buff.
- O'Haire beats Stasiak after a bit of a mess happens involving Stevie Ray and Palumbo, plus a distraction from Jindrak
- Storm retains the SHIT over Norman Smiley after hitting him with an American flag that Norman brought out. Vito makes the save after Storm refuses to release the Maple Leaf.
- Buff beats Douglas with help from Kidman. Kanyon hits Buff with a Kanyon Cutter into the top edge of a chair and Awesome makes a save before he can hurt Judy, leading to a match later.
- Kanyon hits two photographers and a crew member with Kanyon Cutter, then Judy nails him with a brick-loaded handbag to help Awesome get the win.
- Lance retains the Canadian Heavyweight Title over Cat with help from Muta.
- Booker, Sting and Kronic beat Jarrett, Demon, Muta and Vamp in an elimination tag match. Kronic eliminate Muta with High Time. Kronic eliminate themselves by putting the ref through the announce table. Sting and Booker eliminate Vamp and Demon simultaneously. Jarrett is never eliminated but the match ends anyways.

Our opening video package recaps hypes our World Title situation, plus the 3-way dance and the "shoot" issues behind the scenes. Then we see fans getting pumped about the 3-way before we go out to the arena. We're live from the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia up in the Great White North. Schiavone welcomes us to the show and we get to our first match. Double Ladder Match for 3 Count's Gold Record & Recording Contract: 3 Count (w/ Tank Abbot) vs The Jung Dragons Pre-Match : So presumably, it seems the idea of a double ladder match is that each time will go for something different, and this isn't winner take all...? Tony tells us that 3 Count is more concerned with the gold record, and the Dragons want the contract so 3 Count can't make any more records. WCW Spring Stampede 2000

We get an opening video package which starts with Russo's hatred for Flair, then a recap of Bischoff and Hogan's issues. Then we cut to Eric and Russo in the back, and apparently Hogan's checked himself out of the hospital, much to Eric's confusion. Kidman says they just need to fire up the hummer and finish what they started.  Another video package set to music, highlighting everything that went down in the last week or so, then to the arena for the opening pyro, live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson and Mark Madden are on commentary, so I guess Mark recovered from his attack by Tank. They run down the card for tonight, going over the tournaments and the Millionaires Club's chances. They also tell us that Russo and Eric have made it clear to the referees that they don't want them to jump the gun and throw matches out immediately, so the DQ rule will be a more relaxed. Recap of what happened with Rock and the McMahons on Smackdown. We're live from the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA for the go-home episode of Summerslam. JR is here by himself unsure where King is for the time being. Rock is here to get the show started. He gets in his usual cheap pops. He uses the fact that Louisiana is shaped like a boot to transition into wanting to take his own boot, put some jambalaya on it, some gumbo on it, some Louisiana hot sauce on it, and shove it so far up Trips' ass it comes out of his mouth, then put some more hot sauce on it, turn it sideways and stick it up Angle's ass. He says it's the only way they'll ever be united, because they have different agendas, pointless goals, that being to take away his title and win the heart of Stephanie who he calls different variations of a slut.
