WCW Week of September 18, 2000 - Fall Brawl Fallout

Nitro
We're live from the Dom Cardillo Arena in Kitchener, Ontario for the post-Fall Brawl Nitro. We see some still from the elimination tag match at the PPV that ended with Orndorff's stinger, so now we're going to have the match restarted from where it left off the night before. We also hear that Orndorff was able to leave the hospital on his home and is back at home in Atlanta.

Elimination Tag Team Match continued: Rey Mysterio Jr. (WCW World Tag Team Champion) & Tygress vs Mark Jindrak, Sean O'Haire, Chuck Palumbo, "Above Average" Mike Sanders & Shawn Stasiak
Jindrak goes right after Rey, sends him into the corner, Rey sent across the ring and gets a boot up, before sliding through the legs and kicks the gut. Bronco Buster in the corner by Rey, then Mark sent into the corner, goes up and over, gets Rey up for a torture rack neckbreaker. Sean makes the tag. Rey sent off the ropes, double leapfrog, Rey through the legs, flips over Jindrak's back onto Sean's shoulders only to be driven down with a sitout powerbomb. Sean goes up top for the Seanton Bomb as Jindrak holds Rey down, but he pulls Jindrak forwad and Sean hits him instead. Rey with a springboard victory roll on Sean, while Tygress makes the pin on Jindrak, and somehow both pins are counted and they're both eliminated.
Palumbo goes after Rey now in the corner. Palumbo sent across the ring, Rey off the ropes with a bulldog. Tygress off rhe ropes, Rey wheelbarrows her for a leg drop onto Palumbo. Tygress gets in position as Rey goes up to do his diving headbutt, but Stasiak crotches him on the top rope. Palumbo catapults Tygress into Rey who drops to the mat. Rey sent off the ropes, ducks a cltotheslined, back dropped by Stasiak to the apron, tries for a headscissor but he's caught, draped over the top rope as Palumbo leapfrogs Stasiak dropping onto Rey's back. Rey ent off the ropes, springboards over Palumbo, caught by Stasiak but he eats a right. Rey sent off the ropes and caught with a belly to belly overhead. Kwee-Wee comes out with a chair and nails Stasiak in the back, Rey hit with a double underhook facebuster, Palumbo covers him while Tygress covers Stasiak and once again we have to eliminations somehow. Palumbo argues with and gets shoved by the ref, allowing Tygress to roll him up for another elimination.
Now down to her and Sanders. Tygress with some chops, then sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, goes for maybe a facebuster only to be gorilla pressed. She slips behind Sanders and locks on a sleeper hold only to be snapmared to the mat. Rey gets him with a springboard dropkick from behind and she connects with the facebuster/Stuff Buster, covers for the win in 5:12. Yeah I don't know how smart it is to have your main heel faction lose to a non-wrestler like that, even if she did get help from Rey and Kwee-Wee.

Animals come out to celebrate. Nash is backstage and thinks the Thrillers need a coach. Camera pans outside of Goldberg's locker room elsewhere.

Commercial

Cut to Nash in the Thriller's locker room. Jindrak said something off camera and Nash warns him to watch what he says or he'll be SOL Camera pans over as Nash has drawn a diagram for them, tells this game plan to use their powermoves as he starts connecting the dots on his board to spell "YOU SUCK". Then he leaves. Thrillers speculate to which of them sucks.

Over to commentary who sends us to stills of the World Title match, and Steiner/Goldberg at the PPV, while commentary put over the matches.

Speaking of Goldberg, his music hits, but it turns out that it was Russo inside Goldberg's locker room as he makes his way out with Goldberg's entrance. Oh joy, A photo of Russo posing over Goldberg shirtless from the PPV is on the NitroVision and Russo says the proof is in the pudding, King Kong is alive and well and he's in Kitchener. As far as Goldberg's concerned, he pulls out a piece of paper, a registered letter he received that he wants to everyone. It's a fake letter "written" by Goldberg, who says that after getting his ass handed to him at the PPV by Steiner, he came to the conclusion that he's no longer worthy of working for WCW or working for an icon like Russo. It says that time and time again Russo's given him the chance to make a name for himself and time and time again he failed Russo and the fans. It says that Goldberg's a total disgrace and not worthy, a loser, so he finds no other choice but to officially resign from WCW. As far as the kids go, it says Goldberg's no hero, never was, never will be, and if the kids really want someone to look up to for guidance, leadership, love, they should look up to Russo, because he will never be half the man that Russo is. PS: Russo is his God. Regretfully "signed" by Goldberg.
Finally we get to something good as he brings out Steiner. He reminds us how he's always said there's only one genetic freak in WCW, only one with the largest arms in the world, and if we didn't know before the PPV, now we know. He told Goldberg he was going to neat his bald, punk ass up and he did, that size does matter. He apologizes to Goldberg's fans because he didn't want to demoralize him and make him resign, just beat him up. We actually get a brief "Goldberg sucks" chant out of that. He says that now that he's proved he's the man, all that's left is to become World Champion, and guarantees to be the next champion next week at the Nassau Coliseum. He doesn't care about Sting or Booker, because he'll beat both their asses.
Russo apparently has other plans, but he's interrupted by Jarrett before he can say much else. Of course Jarrett takes offense and says he deserves the title shot after what happened on Thunder last week. Steiner says Jarrett deserves his foot up his ass. Russo gets between them as they're about to go at it and reminds us he's the boss and makes the decisions, which then brings out Nash, and of course he thinks he should get the title shot, because the ex-champion gets the first shot and he claims he was cheated and robbed in the cage the night before. Russo says they all deserve a shot, so he makes a tag match, with the winner of the fall getting the title shot next week. He tells Steiner and Jarrett to kiss and make up because they'll be partners, and Russo will be Nash's partner because the Coliseum is in New York and it's been his lifelong dream to be WCW Champion. Nash looks on in disbelief, Russo leaves, Steiner tells Russo he doesn't belong in the ring and that his johnson is bigger than Russo's arm, which I think caught Russo by surprise because he turns his head back suddenly as he says that.

Commercial

Steiner, Midajah and Jarrett walk into Nash's locker room wondering what the hell is going on and tell Nash to go talk to Russo. Nash says he's off tonight. Jarrett asks since when. Nash says starting now. Jarrett and Steiner leave. OK I laughed a little.

We get stills of the Scaffold Match was Douglas and Torrie make their way out to the ring. He tells the Canadian jackass fans that they should have never doubted him, he said Medusa and Kidman would fly and he delivered, and while he's satisfied, Torrie needs so much
more, and calls out any couple in the back that have the guts to take the Pittsburgh Plunge.

The Franchise & Torrie Wilson vs Kwee-Wee & Paisley
For some reason Torrie is not on the apron, but on the floor at ringside, and Paisley is on the apron. Did Torrie forget how a tag match works? Also we learn Madusa has internal injuries and Kidman reaggravated his larynx injury he suffered at New Blood Rising, plus a compressed vertebrae. KW with rights in the corner, then mounted ones. Douglas sent across the ring chest first and a clothesline from KW, then a cover for two. KW sent off the ropes, catches Douglas with a facebuster off the knee. Torrie's timing is off as she's supposed to hit KW from behind when he's coming off the ropes and she completely misses, but he sorta saves the spot by grabbing hold of her anyways. Douglas tries to intervene and gets a low blow, then KW kisses Torrie. Paisley pulls her off the apron and kicks her in the ribs. Sunset flip from KW for two. Belly to belly into a Franchiser by Douglas, who covers, but Paisley is yelling that she wants Torrie, Paisley tags in and Douglas teases tagging out, but instead Franchises Paisley, then folds her up, makes the ref do a 5 count for the win in 2:08.

Russo is doing pushups in the locker room and claims to have done 3,000 of them. Nash walks in. Russo has a plan.

Commercial

Russo has drawn a diagram, he's bigger than the other three and has drawn what I guess are supposed to be muscles on his arms, but they just look like lumps. Nash points out something wrong with the drawing, and Russo rectifies by drawing Nash's "third leg" and Nash is satisfied. His big plan is for Nash to do all the work, "get the heat" is his exact words, then he gets the "hot tag" and covers Jarrett to win, claims he could take them anyway. Nash starts making out a "game plan" and it's just him writing "bite me" on Russo's diagram. Damn it they made me laugh twice tonight.

Pamela is backstage with Booker and Sting ahead of their title match. Booker says he's got a lot of respect for Sting which is why he's getting the first shot at the gold, but he needs that same respect from Sting. Sting takes a bit of shot at all of Booker's one-liners, and tells him to save the intensity for the match. Booker decks him right in the face, then Sting gets his shots in. Referees rush in to break them up.

Cat is reading some paper when Disqo walks in with a plastic duck. Yes, THAT plastic duck, the same one Steiner attacks with a pipe in that one gif. Apparently it's the Disqo Duck, his new visual aid. He informs Cat of Booker and Sting's fight and says he's terrible at his job, doesn't know what he's doing, and on the square thinks he sucks. So Cat makes a match between the two of them, and says Disqo can be commissioner for a day if he wins, but if he loses, Disqo's own suggestion here, Cat can strip Rey and Juvie of the tag titles.

Commercial

Sting is taking apart his locker room with a bat. Booker is stewing in his own locker room and throws a chair across the room

Cat makes his way out. Disqo is trying to reassure the Animals that everything will be fine, and I guess they have a run-in planned. Cat sees this all go down and threatens to suspend the Animals if any of them get near the ring.

The Cat vs Disqo
Disqo gets to be commissioner for a day if he wins. Rey and Juvie are stripped of the tag titles if Cat wins. If any Animal interferes, they'll be suspended three months without pay.
Right away Disqo nails Cat in the back with the duck. Boots in the corner, then Disco sent across the ring, Cat off the ropes, kick to the chest and hooks the legs to win in 15 seconds. Why?

Animals run out and chase off Disqo and the duck through the crowd. Ms. Jones comes out with Cat's cape and he does some dancing.

Steiner and Jarrett are in the locker room. Nash walks in and says he's out of the match, and instead he's going to take the Thrillers out on the town tonight.

Commercial

Disqo escapes the arena just barely.

We get a complete replay of the Tenay, David and mailman video from the PPV.

MI Smooth, who apparently knows who the father is, as long as the price is right. David runs out to the ring like he's on fire with a crowbar in his hand and Smooth manages to hold him back. Smooth has a video tape and says Kidman caught the culprit in Smooth's limo, but David needs to pay up first. David pulls out enough cash and they make the trade. David nails him with the crowbar and runs off with the tape.

Russo is looking at a book, then tosses it aside when he hears Steiner and pretends he's reading Flex Magazine. Steiner rips out some pages and throws them at Russo and everyone's yelling over each other. Russo brings up Kronic in all this. He suggests they watch the World Title match and then Jarrett and Steiner leave.

David goes to a production guy and demands he play the tape, but he refuses, so David hits him with the crowbar and leaves.

Sanders is walking backstage and Terry Taylor tells him Russo wants to see him. Russo wants him to deliver an audio tape to Kronic, but makes it clear that Sanders "has no idea where it came from" wink wink. Sanders leaves and Russo tells him he kisses the best ass in the business.

Also on this week's Thunder, we get an interview Tenay did with Stacy.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Sting vs Booker T (c)
Booker and Sting shove each other in the corner off a lock up until the ref forces a break. Then an exchange of holds and some back and forth, Booker countering an Irish whip to set up the ax kick only to be caught with a clothesline. Scoop slam by Sting, then off the ropes with a splash only for Booker to get the knees up. Sting sent off the ropes, ducks an elbow and runs into a Harlem Side Kick, Booker covers for two. Booker connects with the ax kick on the second try, covers again but only gets two Sting counters a suplex and tries to go for the Deathdrop, then Booker counters but gets caught in an armbar. Booker makes it to the ropes. Stiner Splash as Booker returns to his feet, then a second. Sting applies the Deathlock but Jarrett runs out and attacks for the DQ. Sting wins, Booker retains in 2:41. I mean it was good for how short it was, but what can I say about a match that went less than 3 minutes?

Booker saves Sting from getting hit with the Stroke. Steiner runs out and attacks Booker from behind. T-Bone suplex. Sting with a clothesline to Steiner, then Jarrett with the guitar shot to Sting. Stiner with the Recliner on Booker and Jarrett with a figure 4 on Sting. Referees rush out to break things up eventually.

Sanders finds Bryan Clark backstage and gives him the tape.

Commercial

David is backstage with Jimmy Hart and he's trying to watch the video simply by looking at the tape, which Jimmy points out it doesn't work like that, and also that Smooth has a VCR in his limo. David also hits him with the crowbar as he turns to leave. Then he leaves.

Kronic walk into Cat's office. They tell him to listen to the tape they got from Sanders, then complain how the Harrises aren't around after they got screwed at the PPV. Apparently the tape is a recording of Steiner and Jarrett running their mouths about Kronic, so they want Jarrett and Steiner tonight. Cat gives them the match and has Ms. Jones relay the message to Steiner and Jarrett.

Team Canada come out with a reluctant Guns. Storm reminds us of Canada's title defenses at the PPV, plus their keeping of Guns, and they proved that you can teach an old dog a new trick. He welcomes out former Toronto Argonaut Jim Duggan, whose American theme has changed to the Canadian anthem, and now he's shaved his head, carrying a Canadian flag, no 2x4 and a Canadian jersey. Duggan takes the mic and still does the "ho!" thing. He says it's great to be part of a team that appreciates him for the man he is, he fought for the USA and the fans treated him like a joke, he carried that other flag and the fans treated him like garbage, when he wrestled Goldberg and was carted out in an ambulance, and blood pouring out of his mouth, his wife screaming in his ear, his children crying, all he heard was chants of Goldberg. So no more Mr. Nice Guy, no more Mr. USA, he's in it for himself and himself only. He calls for everyone to join him and his teammates for the playing of their anthem. MIA interrupt before the anthem can even start and I guess we have a match.

Team Canada (w/ Major Guns) vs MIA (Cpl. Cajun, Gen. Rection & Lt. Loco) (w/ Sgt. AWOL)
MIA take control right away. Elix is left along in their, then Rection is sent into the corner, before turning Elix inside out with a clothesline. Loco tags in. Elix sent into the corner, Rection with a running splash, then Loco off his back with a splash, then Cajun does the same. Doomsday Device dropkick from Loco and Cajun to Elix, Loco covers but Lance breaks it up. Lance sent into the corner, up and over, ducks a clothesline and Loco runs into one from Elix. Duggan with the tag. Scoop slam to Loco into the corner, then a second time., then into the opposite corner and to the mat. Knee drop off the ropes by Duggan. Elix makes the tag. Belly to belly to Loco. Elix tries crsossbody AWOL on the outside, and I guess at some point AWOL set up a table because he catches Elix midair and chokeslams through it, and it's somehow not a DQ.
Lance sends Loco off the ropes and floats over with a DDT. Rection in. Clotheslines to Lance, until Lance ducks one, Rection avoids a standing side kick and hits a German suplex. Rectioon wants Duggna. Duggan steps in, which allows Lance to hit the standing side kick. MIA including AWOL triple team Lance in the corner as Duggan grabs a 2x4 from someone and he lays waste to MIA. Duggan covers Rection for the win in 3:30. Despite how overbooked this was the Canadian crowd ate it all up,. It was still a bullshit match though.

Lance gets a chair and wraps it around Rection's knee, and Duggan hits it with the 2x4.

Steiner and Jarrett have found out what Russo did and Steiner's ready to tear him apart, Jarrett manages to hold him back and Russo retreats. Jarrett says they'll take care of Kronic and then Russo's next.

Commercial
Awesome arrives with Gary Coleman and apologizes for what happened at the PPV. Coleman thinks Awesome set him up and promises that Jarrett will get his too, then walks off. Dark Carnival pop out from behind a car and seem to walk toward the bus.

So Kronic come out. Then Nash comes out with the Thrillers. Nash says that while Kronic wants Jarrett and Steiner, Kronic know deep down they're not even in the same league as them. He's got a group of young lions wanting to prove themselves, so he wants two volunteers to face Kronic. The other Thrillers volunteer Johnny and Sanders. Pumphandle powerslam to Sanders by Clark, then the full nelson slam from Adams to Johnny. Reno runs down as does Palumbo. Palumbo takes them both on by himself until he's caught. Reno is sent out of the ring, Palumbo sent off the ropes, catches Clark with rights until he's hit with a clothesline by Adams. High Time takes out Palumbo. Jindrak and O'Haire start to come out but it was a distraction as Jarrett and Steiner attack from behind with pipes. Stroke to Clark and... I mean there was no bell to start this match but Jarrett and Steiner win this. Then they all leave.

Russo is walking backstage and knocks on someone's door.

Commercial

Awesome is talking to Pamela backstage and 3 Count tell him something's happened to his bus. Dark Carnival have vandalized it.

Sting is stewing in his locker room and in walks Russo. Russo begs him to be his partner and uses what happened to him earlier and the World Title as a bargaining chip. He also questions Sting's heart which sets him off and I guess he agrees to be Russo's partner later.

Awesome makes his way out. We learn from Schiavone that they're crowning a Ms. WCW next week in a swimsuit contest, and the judges will be Howard Stern's Wack Pack. Awesome says he's normally a happy guy, but after what Vamp and ICP did to his bus he can't be happy. He's sick and tired of everyone messing with the "Awesome Lovemobile," so he calls out Vamp for a Hardcore Match, and tells him to leave his sissy looking clowns in the back.

Hardcore Match: "That 70s Guy" Mike Awesome vs Vampiro
Pre-Match: Vamp brings out a kendo stick with him.
Awesome right on the attack, then a headbutt by Vamp and he's on the attack. Clubs to the back, then stick shots to the back. Shot to the rib, then Aewesome sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits a shoulder block. Vamp caught with a belly to belly overhead off a leapfrog attempt, then Vamp clotheslined out to the floor. Awesome dives over the ropes onto Vamp.
Also I don't know when it got there but there's suddenly a wheelbarrow full of weapons at ringside, and Awesome proceeds to throw them all into the ring. Trash lid to the head of Vamp, then kendo stick to the back. Vamp is sent over the guard rail and they fight through the crowd. Vamp climbs up onto a railing and takes Awesome out with a crossbody to the concrete. Vamp with a standing side kick to the chest. Back to ringside, Awesome sent into the guard rail. Awesome with a crutch to the back of Vamp, then another. Cooke sheet to the head of Vamp. Awesome pulls out a table and sets it up parallel to the apron. Shovel handle to the back of Vamp. Back in the ring, Awesome goes up top but he's cut off by Vamp. He goes for a superplex but Awesome fights him off and delivers a flying clothesline.
Awesome goes for the Awesome Bomb over the ropes through the table but Vamp slips out, then nails him with a trash can to the head. Awesome sent off the ropes, drops Vamp with a knee, then low blows him after catching a kick. Awesome successfully puts him through the table with the Awesome Bomb for the win in 5:21. I can't believe I actually enjoyed a WCW Hardcore Match, but this wasn't half bad.

Booker walks into Russo's locker room pissed off.

Commercial

We go to David in the limo after he's watched the video and he proceeds to smash the tape on the ground with the crowbar, screaming Stacy's name. Then he runs off.

So I guess Booker either took out Russo or he negotiated with him, because he comes out with Sting for our main event.

Scott Steiner (w/ Midajah) & Jeff Jarrett vs Sting & Booker T (WCW World Heavyweight Champion)
Winner of the fall gets a World Title shot on next week's Nitro.
Pre-Match: Not sure how this works if Booker wins the fall, but it's better than having Russo in this match, so that's a plus.
Sting with a clothesline to Steiner. Jarrett and Booker back and forth in the ring and Jarrett caught with a dropkick. Steiner and Sting fight by commentary, Steiner scoop slammed onto the table, which the camera misses a spinaroonie in the process. Booker clotheslines Jarrett out to the floor. Sting and Steiner return to the ring. Sting off the top with a splash and a cover and Jarrett breaks it up. Harlem Side Kicks to Jarrett, then o pair to Stiner. Stinger Splash to Jarrett, then Steiner. Sting gets Jarrett in the Deathlock, and Booker goes for the Book End on Steiner but Midjah nails him with the pipe. Sting releases the hold. Sting goes after Midajah but Steiner stops him. Ms. Jones comes out to trip up Midajah and Sting gets Steiner with a low blow. Ms. Jones scoop slams Midajah to the floor then drags her to the back.
Jarrett sends Booker face first in the corner, then across the ring, up and over into a roll up for two, then a clothesline by Jarrett. Steier tags in. Booker sent off the ropes into a clothesline then an elbow, covers for two and Steiner loses it on the ref. Spinning belly to belly by Steiner. Booker is tossed out to the floor. Jarrettsends him into the guard rail. Sting decks Jarrett. Booker is tossed dback in the ring, and Steiner delivers a backbreaker, then covers for two. Jarrett tags in. Booker sent off the ropes, ducks an elbow but caught with a sleeper. Booker drops to a knee to his side. Booker seemingly passes out, the ref raises his arm twice, and Booker comes back to life on the third time. Booker back to his feet, fights his way out and delivers a stalling suplex. Steiner gets the tag. T-bone suplex and a cover for two. Booker sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, misses a spin kick and take each other out with a clothesline.
Sting gets the hot tag. Clotheslines to Jarrett and Stiener, then dropkicks to both. Booker with the ax kick to Steiner. Jarrett and Sting fight on the outside and toward the back. Booker with mounted rights in the corner. Kronic come out and attack Jarrett. Steiner with a low blow. Steiner off the ropes with a low blow. Steiner applies the Recliner and out comes Russo with a bat, his shirt torn. Russo grabs hold of the ref and Steiner releases the hold. Steiner decks Russo. Booker nails Steiner right in the face with the bat. Booker puts Russo on top and somehow Russo wins this match in 9:10. This match broke my brain. Between the clusterfuck at the start, then the sudden following of rules in the middle, then a hot tag that didn't matter because it just became Steiner/Booker, and now for reasons unknown, Booker puts Russo on top of Steiner, after seemingly beating the crap out of him backstage, and now Russo is #1 contender winning a match he may or may not be apart of anymore.. What the absolute fuck?

Booker says he'll see Russo's ass on Monday before shoving him to the mat, and that's how this show ends.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
I can't believe the only thing I enjoyed on this show was a fucking hardcore match. That and a few backstage segments. This show sucked, and that main event broke my brain. What else is there to say? Not to mention I now have Russo winning the title to look forward to in the next week of shows. Sigh. With a run time of 1:30:22, this show had a total 28:17 of wrestling on this show.

Thunder
We get a recap of the World Title bullshit on Nitro. Then we go live to the Civic Center in Erie, Pennsylvania for this edition of Thunder. And of course, we have to start this show with Russo, who's got football paint under his eyes and comes out with security. He says this is an emotional night, he's five days away from being WCW Champion in his hometown of Long Island, a life long dream. Once he becomes champion the fans will have a champion to look up to, intelligent, handsome, and will well-represent the company into the millennium, unlike "that street thug" Booker T. He wants to make it fair, so he gives Booker the night off, but not himself. He's been training his ass off and shows off his "guns," he was in the Power Plant for almost two hours the day before, and tonight the fans will be treated, because he's having a tune-up match., and give us a taste of what Booker's in store.
While this is going on, Stevie Ray's been going off on commentary and Russo takes notice, and invites Stevie to enter the ring, backing security off. Russo calls him a wuss. Then Russo threatens to fire him on the spot if he enters the ring as he climbs the apron. Russo is tired of looking at his face, putting Booker over, and sick of him period, so before he slaps Stevie upside the head he tells him to get to stepping, and if he has a problem Russo will fire him and end it. Stevie leaves. Steiner arrives at the arena with Jarrett with a pipe and chair in hand.  Stevie goes to leave and Russo makes him go around the rampway because it's too good for him. Russo says Stevie got it easy, but there will be no drama for Booker's mama on Nitro because he will flat punk Booker out.
Now out comes Steiner and Midajah, and Jarrett right behind them. Steiner lays out security with the pipe and Jarrett tosses them out to the floor. Russo is cowering in the corner, then tries to mace Steiner and he's wearing sunglasses so that does no good. Steiner wants an explanation, says without him and Jarrett, Sting, Booker and Goldberg will kick Russo's ass, he needs them, but Russo cost him the World Title on Nitro, he had Booker crying for his mama while in the Recliner.
Russo finally speaks up and says that Booker wasn't officially part of that match, but he was, and if Booker had gone unconscious Steiner wouldn't have gotten the title shot... this despite the fact that the referee counted Booker's shoulders down several times during that match. Russo says he came down to the ring to sacrifice his body for Steiner and was going to lay down for him. Russo feigns being hurt, says he loves them, reminds Jarrett of the numerous title shots he's given him, and to Steiner, and there will be plenty more. They have a problem now though in Sting, so to make it up to them, he announces a Three-Way Dance with Steiner, Jarrett and Sting. He says if they can get rid of Sting they'll have title shots from here to kingdom come. Before Russo leaves, he reminds them he's the boss, he made their asses and he can break them.
Russo runs towards the back but he's cut off by Booker who makes his way out with mic in hand. Booker is real nervous and scared about their match on Nitro, and he will be watching Russo's ass tonight. Russo runs off and Sting appears out of nowhere, and they go at it with Steiner and Jarrett in the aisle, Sting and Booker handily kicking their asses.

Commercial

Borash has taken Stevie's spot on commentary and now he's the Russo shill. Tony implies he's a brown-noser before bringing up Tenay's interview with Stacey that we'll see later, apparently Stacey asked for it to explain her actions. Tenay reminisces to being the flavor of the month in reference to Borash.

Plug for the WCW Magazine.

Jung Dragons (w/ Leia Meow) vs "Above Average" Mike Sanders, Sean O'Haire & Mark Jindrak
Sanders starts this out with Kaz. Kaz with rights, then Sanders counters an Irish whip to deliver a pumphandle suplex. Jindrak enters and calls Yang into the ring, who gets a boot to the midsection. Jindrak locks in a headlock and Yang tries to send him off the ropes, but he's swung around while in the hold instead. Yang fights out and we get some back and forth. Jindrak blocks a hip toss and connects with a clothesline. Sanders joins commentary for some reason as Sean tags in. Yang sent off the ropes, ducks a double clothesline and pokes them both in the eyes, only to get a big boot. Yang sent off the ropes, gets a sunset flip for two.
Yang sent off the ropes, ducks a roundhouse and runs into a clothesline. Jindrak back in. Yang sent off the ropes, ducks ac lothesline and delivers a tilt-a-whirl headscissor. Kaz back in, sent into the corner, they go up and over each other until Jindrak gets him up on his shoulders, Sean up top, Jindrak with a neckbreaker then the Seanton Bomb. Sean covers as Jamie goes up top with a leg drop to the back of the neck. Jindrak back in. Kaz sent off the ropes, goes out to the apron and hits a slingshot DDT.
Jamie with the tag, hammers away, ducks a sidekick from Sean, low blows and hits a double DDT. Jamie sent off the ropes into a sitout spinebuster as Sanders leaves commentary. Sanders tags on, covers for two, then again for two. Jamie sent off the ropes, a pair of over the shoulder couters, a snapmare by Sanders, then a neckbreaker by Jamie. Jamie sent off the ropes, more counters and a Russian leg sweep. Jindrak trips up Jamie and gets dropkicked. Sean catches Jamie off a crossbody and gorilla presses onto the guard rail. Jamie is then double hip tossed from the floor, over the ropes, into the arms of Sanders for a powerslam. Damn that was smooth. Jindrak and Sean join commentary now. Sanders off the ropes into a clothesline.
Double tag in to Kaz and Yang. Sanders sent off the double elbow and delivers a double clothesline. Jamie is tossed out to the floor. Leia kicks Jamie, then slaps Yang, before going up top with a seated senton on Sanders and... somehow she wins this match in 6:30. This match was already a mess, but then you have a double legal tag and someone not in the match win it? Yeah alright, sure.

Jindrak and O'Haire attack Kaz and Yang Sanders tosses Jamie in and they continue the beatdown.

Still to come, the sitdown interview with Stacey.

Commercial

We go to the Animals backstage and Disqo has gotten a match booked between Juvie and Rey, he claims it'll be the highest rated segment on the show. Konnan wants to take his duck and shove it up his ass. Juvie calls him a pendejo.

Oh good, another Lava Lamp Lounge segment. Awesome says things haven't gone as he planned the last few weeks on the Lounge, with his set trashed. Tonight it'll change though, because his guests will take care of the Love Doctor, just like the Love Doctor will take care of them. This is just to hype the bikini contest on Nitro, so he brings out Paisley, Tygress, Major Guns and Torrie Wilson.
Awesome compares himself to Tony Orlando. Guns says she'll be reporting for duty with heavy artillery. Tygress says that while she won't be able to do the Faceful of Stuff, we'll definitely get an eyeful. Awesome will apparently be a judge so they start sucking up to him. Paisley calls Torrie a dumb blonde. Paisley is honestly the best part of this. Now out comes.... I don't know who they are, Nitro Girls maybe? Commentary aren't telling us squat. They finally say they're Chay and Chaquita and they'll be in the contest too, and that Awesome isn't a judge despite what he claims. They trash the set.

Up next, Russo's tune-up match.

Commercial

First though, Gene is backstage with Steiner and Midajah. Gene is convinced Russo's trying to stick it to Steiner, who says Gene is close to the truth but he's still wrong, because not only did Steiner beat Goldberg, he destroyed him, he'd already beaten Booker and had him crying like a little bitch in the Recliner. He says Sting's going to find out that he's the physical phenomenon, the only supernatural in WCW and he's going to beat Sting's ass too. He says frustration's running wild and needs some relief from Midajah, so they leave.

Russo makes his way out for his match. We learn from commentary that Nitro will have a battle royal to crown new tag champions, and we'll be learning who's in the match throughout this show. Pamela is handed a paper for the introduction of Russo's opponent, making his WCW debut, a man who will undoubtedly rise to the top of the industry like none other before him, the current Intercontinental Shoot Fighting Champion, the World Wrestling Title holder, he led his country to Olympic gold on 28 separate occasions in weightlifting and wrestling, from Parts Unknown, at 320lbs...

Vince Russo vs The Masked Heel
Pre-Match: So I'm fairly certain this is Stevie Ray under the mask. He's all in black, a t-shirt that says "The Masked Heel."
Russo does the Flair strut. Lock up and the Heel is pushed into the corner. Chop by Russo, then another. Russo mocks Hogan now with cupping the ear. Heel drops to his knees and Russo delivers rights. Heel sent of the ropes into a big boot. Russo rips off his shirt. Off the ropes with a terrible leg drop. Heel is back to his feet. Russo does jumping jacks then raises the roof. Russo with forearms to the chest. Russo gets in his ear and says something then sticks his tongue out. Russo tries to spear and Russo runs right into a wall. Borash tries to call for security. Oh it is Stevie Ray, he pulls off his mask. Stevie pulls out the slapjack and whips Russo. Stevie gets a mic and says the only reason he didn't crack Russo's skull is because he wants Booker to recognize him next week and wipe the floor with him. Stevie leaves, so this is a no contest in 3:09. Christ watching Russo try to wrestle was sad, he couldn't do anything right, and I mean he isn't trained so it makes sense, but god almighty that was hard to watch.

Still to come, the sitdown interview. With the clips we get, Tenay is only concerned with who the father is and how many guys Stacey has slept with.

Russo confronts Kronic backstage. Because he's their boss, he orders them to destroy Stevie Ray in the ring tonight or he'll fire both their asses.

Animals sans Disqo are having a meeting in a stairwell. They argue about what to do about Disqo then agree to just go to the ring and do what they do best.

Torrie Wilson vs Paisley (w/ The Kwee-Wee)
The Franchise on commentary.
Pre-Match: So we learn Rey & Juvie, Jindrak & O'Haire, and Jung Dragons will be in the battle royal for the tag titles.
Torrie with a double sledge from behind. Boot to the midsection and a hammerlock. Snapmare by Paisley. Torrie trips her up. Douglas leaves commentary and hops the apron. Kwee-Wee pulls him down. Paisley rolls up Torrie for the win in 54 seconds.

Kwee-Wee is crotched into the ring post. Paisley slaps Douglas then gets Franchised. He tries again and Tygress makes the save, jumping on Douglas's back only to be throw off, then Konnan saves her from being Franchised, getting a rolling clothesline, which Tenay somehow calls it a DDT, in the process.

Commercial

Russo finds Sanders in the locker room and asks if he's ready to kiss major ass, and Sanders is. Russo might have a job for him.

Out comes Team Canada. Guns is carrying an American flag and Storm has a garbage can. We get a replay of the attack to Rection's knee on Nitro. Lance wants to be serious for a minute. As much as he didn't want to leave Kitchener he thought he owed it to these fans, the opportunity to better themselves, that if the poster boy for the USA in Duggan can see the light than they can as well. They know Canada is the better nation and they just need to accept it, and tells them to not to blame Canada, but to join Canada.
Duggan takes the mic. He says that as the newest member of Team Canada he has no regrets because the people forced him, the Americans turned their backs on him, and that's why he joined a country that's proud of its hero. He says what he did to Rection on Nitro had to be one of the greatest moments of his career, and that's why he chose that idiot to pass the torch, one that fizzled out a long time ago. And though he never vowed to touch the American flag again, one last time he's going to take it and put it where it belongs in the trash.
MIA come out before anything can happen. Cajun's shoulder is taped up and they're all easily laid out until Rection comes in. He tries to take the flag but he's nailed from behind with the 2x4. Storm nails Rection in the leg with the trash can, then nails the others. Storm waves the Canadian flag.

Still to come, the sitdown interview.

Sanders finds a forklift backstage, which is conveniently parked two inches from Booker T's locker room, and he parks it right in front of the doors.

Commercial

Gene is backstage with Jarrett. He calls Gene Jurassic slap ass. Gene tells him to blow it out his ass. Jarrett warns him about being lippy or he'll kick his other foot into the grave. He takes offense to Steiner's claim of deserving a title shot, says he should've gotten one two days ago on Nitro, but the only man he blames for that is Sting. He says it's not over between the two of them and he guarantees it, but after tonight when he and Steiner get done destroying Sting, he's going to realize that it's the Chosen One's time, and tells Gene to choke on that before leaving.

Stevie Ray vs KroniK
Pre-Match: Stevie for whatever reason is still dressed as Masked Heel, aside from the mask for some reason. We also learn that the Harris Brothers, plus Cpl. Cajun and Lt. Loco will represent MIA in the battle royal on Nitro.
Stevie charges Adams and knocks him out of the ring, then rights to Clark until he's sent to the corner for boots. Stevie ducks a right and delivers some more, drops Clark. Clark sent off the ropes into a pump kick, then covers for two. Stevie sent off the ropes, boot and a clothesline from Clark, then cover for two. Adams tags in. Ray sent off the ropes into double elbows, then a leg drop and a cover for two. Ray sent into the corner, Adams caught with an elbow and a clothesline. Ray sent off the ropes, clubbed by Clark and a right from Adams. Clark back in. Ray sent off the ropes into a pair of rights. Ray sent off the ropes, catches Clark, goes for the Slapjack (Pedigree) but he's back dropped. Ray pulls out the slapjack but Adams comes in and delivers the full nelson slam. Clark grabs a chair and sets it up. They go to deliver High Times onto it but decide against it, kicking it to the side before delivering the move for the win in 3:21.

KroniK leave and Booker is seen trying to leave his locker room.

Commercial

Russo berates KroniK backstage for not using the chair. Russo isn't firing them because he has big plans for them, but if they screw him again they're done. Then he shoves past them.

#1 Contender's Match for the WCW 100kg & Under Championship: Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Juventud Guerrera
Konnan & Tygress on commentary.
We get some good lucha stuff to start  this match, then a double pin and a double bridge, way to fast to cover. Juvie counters a version of a rack into a DDT. They shove each other for some reason, then Juvie with some chops. Rey sent into the corner, Juvie misses a splash, elbows Rey and runs into a drop toe hold. Rey tries for a roll up but Juvie blocks it and covers for two. Juie ducks a clothesline and they take each other out with a double clothesline. Rey ducks a clothesline, then sent off the ropes, tries to go up and over, caught on the shoulder, then Juvie blocks a roll up and delivers a springboard spinning dropkick. Juvie with a crossbody to the outside.
Back in the ring, Juvie sent into the corner, gets the boots up but he's caught and slammed down, setting up for the Bronco Buster. Juvie rolls out to he apron, catches Rey with a knee, brings Rey to the corner for mounted rights, followed by a brainbuster, Juvie covers for two. Juvie with a People's Elbow or whatever he calls it. Rey sent off the ropes and catches Juvie with a tilt-a-whirl headscissor, then a head scissor out to the floor. Back in the ring once more, Rey with the springboard senton countered with a sitout powerbomb, Juvie rolls him up but it only gets two.
Juvie out to the apron with a springboard splash and a cover but Rey kicks out. Rey sent off the ropes, through the legs, series of counters an a roll up by Rey with a bridge for two. Rey goes for the springboard moonsault, but he's caught with the Juvie Driver and it only gets two. Rey escapes a powerbomb and delivers one of his own, then goes for a bridging pin only for Juvie to flip him over for the pin in 8:36. OK I wasn't expecting this to get as much time as it did and it was a fun match. And a clean finish to boot.

Konnan and Tygress help them back to their feet and out comes Disqo and the duck. He tries to hug the Animals bt they don't want anything to do with him, and they all deck him before tossing him out of the ring. Thank fuck.

Still to come, the sitdown an interview.

Commercial

Gene is now backstage with Sting. He says he's not in the greatest of moods after Nitro, after Steiner and Jarrett cost him the title, so they're not the only ones a little ticked off. He calls Jarrett the Golden Boy and he agrees that his business with Jarrett isn't over, and makes it clear to the two dimwits that he's not going into this 2 on 1 situation without a game plan. It's showtime, folks!

3 Count vs The Harris Brothers
Shannon dives out and takes out one Harris. The other two try to take him down only to be handily taken down. Evan sent off the ropes, gets the Harris with a backslide and Shane gets him with a leg drop. Evan mounts with rights, then a dropkick to the Harris. The other one sends Shane into the guard rail,. while Evan is hit with the spinning side slam back in the ring. Evan is tossed out. Running powerslam to Shane. Rights by one Harris in the corner, then a running lariat by the other. Another lariat to Shane. Sidewalk slam to Shane. H Bomb to Shane. One Harris goes under the ring and gets the chain bat until KroniK come out. Full nelson slam to one of them. Jindrak and O'Haire come out. Ref calls the match off in 3:01.

Everyone starts going at it. Rey and Juvie come out now. Now Jung Dragons. Now MIA.

Up next, the sitdown interview.

Commercial

Tenay recaps what's happened, and Stacey was the one who requested this time to explain herself, so he opens the floor to her. She turns to the camera and speaks to David, she apologizes and says she's been sitting around thinking of all the good times they've had and calls it a mistake, says she loves him and hopes he'll forgive her. Tenay butts in and thinks she's full of it, seeing as she did sleep around on David, and points out we've seen her on TV dressed in the shortest miniskirt he's ever seen, the way she provocatively climbs into the ring and dances, she comes down to the announce table, climb onto it while they're trying to announce a match. He also says that if he weren't a married man and if he didn't have morals he'd have taken a shot probably.
He wants to know who the father is. He asks if it's Ric. He tells her how he asked Ric and he never denied it. He asks how many there've been, if they can be counted on one hand, two hands, the over-under. She's silent until that last one and insists there was just one. He apologizes if he got a bit out of hand, but still wants to know who that one was. She says it's none of his business. He wants to know who she's trying to protect, what kind of individual would impregnate an innocent 20-year-old like her that was headed to the wedding altar with David. She says he's not like that, Tenay keeps pushing to know who.
He brings up the swimsuit competition for some reason and figures she's taken herself out of it, because her baby bump's starting to show. He figures the upside is she'll be the most popular person in her Lamaze class, even if she's there all alone. She says she's the victim here, but Tenay says David and her unborn child are the victims, and all she's feeling is guilt. She leaves crying and he tells her to save the tears for someone who gives a damn. He turns to the camera and sarcastically says she's make a terrific mother. Sigh.

Up next, the 3-way main event. Also a forklift driver finds the forklift he's been looking for all day and moves it from Booker's locker room doors.

Commercial

Oh joy, Russo has joined commentary. He says Borash has done a tremendous job, calls him the Rookie Broadcaster of the Year as far as he's concerned. He brought his bat and helmet with him but hopes he doesn't have to get involved in the ring. He's also going to drop a bombshell during this match because he's tired of being abused around there.

Scott Steiner (w/ Midajah) vs Jeff Jarrett vs Sting
Vince Russo on commentary.
Pre-Match: Steiner's out first and gets the mic. He finds great satisfaction in being the man to make Goldberg quit, being the man to run Goldberg out of wrestling. He beat up Goldberg at Fall Brawl, he got Booker in the Recliner the next night, unconscious, didn't know where he was, and says Booker better recognize that Steiner's the man, not him, there's no mystery, no drama, and while Booker says to save the drama for his mama, the only drama is that Booker doesn't know who she is.
Steiner doesn't even let Sting into the ring as he knocks him off the apron. Steiner sent into the guard rail. Sting enters the ring, Jarrett sent off the ropes into a clothesline, then one for Steiner as he re-enters. Right to Jarrett and Steiner attacks from behind. Steiner sent into the corner and caught with a bulldog. Inverted atomic drop to Jarrett. Mounted rights in the corner to Steiner, then flies and spins around to clothesline Jarrett from the middle rope. Sting tries to whip Jarrett into Steiner but he reverses, then Steiner catches him for his spinning belly to belly.
Backbreaker by Steiner, then some fist drops by Jarrett. Russo announces his title match will be Caged Heat so Ray and Sting don't stick there nose in it, as Sting is sent off the ropes into a clothesline, then an elbow by Steiner, covers for two. Russo also threatens to throw Booker off the top of the cage as Sting is sent off the ropes, ducks a double clothesline, misses one of his own, then caught with one that sends him out to the floor. Now out comes Booker dressed like Sting for... some reason. Jarret sent off the ropes into a Harlem Side Kick, then one for Jarrett. Jarrett sent into the corner for a Stinger Splash, then one for Steiner. Ax kick to Jarrett. Jarrett sent into the corner for a Stiner Splash by Sting. Russo tries to interfere with the bat but he's caught by Sting. Sting put him in the Deathlock and Jarrett bashes the guitar over his head. Ref calls for I guess the DQ in 3:18. I was actually kinda enjoying that match.

Booker comes back in, Booker counters an Irish whip and goes for the Book End, only to be hit with Steiner's pipe from behind. Steiner wails away at both with the pipe. Steiner with a pipe clothesline to Booker, then Russo chokes him with the bat. Steiner with the Recliner on Booker, then Jarrett with the figure 4 on Sting. Russo taunts Booker, slaps him a couple times. The three stand tall to end the show.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Thunder used to be the considerably better show, but now it just feels like Nitro-lite. It did have a good match with Rey and Juvie, and the main event was OK but it was way too short. Then there was the Stacey interview, and the shit with Mike Awesome and the ladies. This show was a mess. With a run time of 1:24:09, this show had a total 28:49 of wrestling.
