WCW Week of October 23, 2000 - Halloween Havoc Go-Home
Nitro
Alex Wright (w/ Disqo) vs Mark Jindrak (w/ Sean O'Haire) (WCW World Tag Team Champions) vs Billy Kidman (w/ Rey Mysterio Jr. & Tygress)
Video recap of WCW's two weeks down under.
Live from the Alltel Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas for this edition of Nitro, welcomed by Schiavone who's joined by Stevie and Madden before we get to the first match.
Perfect Event vs Harris Brothers
Kevin Nash on commentary.
Pre-Match: Palumbo and Stasiak are arguing already until Nash gets them to shake hands and refocus.
Don and Stasiak start the match. Stasiak takes control sending Don off the ropes and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Rights and boots in the corner, Don sent across the ring, gets a boot up and delivers some clotheslines. Stasiak retreats and tags in Palumbo. Don takes control in the corner and Palumbo sent to the corner for a clothesline, then across the ring, Palumbo catches him with an elbow and hits a standing side kick. Ron knocked off the apron with a springboard dropkick.
Palumbo is ready to tag out but Stasiak is busy taunting the fans, so Don attacks from behind, Palumbo sent off the ropes into a back elbow. Ron tags in. Palumbo face first in the corner, sent across the ring, catches Ron with a headscissor, then Don comes in but caught with a dropkick. Palumbo argues with Stasiak again and he's had enough, so he drops from the apron. Running clothesline from one Harris, then the H-Bomb for the win in 2:48.
Stasiak re-enters the ring and Nash joins the too. Stasiak gets in Nash's face and immediately gets shoved into the corner and Nash nearly decks him until Palumbo pulls him off. Stasiak mouths off and Nash is in disbelief. Nash gets back on the headset and says Stasiak's gonna learn tough love tonight before leaving.

Pamela is backstage with Sanders ahead of his match at the PPV. He thinks she's ogling him, then says Cat's good at running his mouth and dancing, but he's good at kicking ass, and guarantees that Cat doesn't have a chance in hell at the PPV, and he'll be the new commissioner. Tonight though he's put together a three-round kickboxing match with some of WCW's toughest talent, then hits on Pam some more before leaving.
Okerlund is in the ring as he brings out Booker T for an interview. He says the last few months as champion have been bittersweet, a rollercoaster from hell, but no matter what's been thrown at him he just keeps going. Some might think he's crazy for what he does, but he does it every week for the fans. He talks about being on the road every week defending the title, away from his family, in a hotel, living out of a suitcase, and at some point he questioned why he goes through this. The reception he got from the fans was like a lightbulb above his head.
Okerlund moves onto his title defense against Steiner. Booker says he's got a lot of respect for him, but he sucks as a man. He knows Steiner's worked long and hard in WCW and he's got his title shot now, but he's gotta kill Booker to take the title off him. His daddy said a long time ago, "To bring some, get some, want some, you better be big enough, bad enough to take some." He says Steiner will get his chance, they'll go in locked and loaded, and he'll have the fans watching his back.
Cue the man himself along with Midajah. He's been listening to Booker talk all his "jive" and didn't understand a word he said. He implies Booker's mother is on welfare and that she's a prostitute, then says he needs Booker's ebonics handbook to understand him. He says the only reason Booker is champion right now is because he's never wrestled Steiner, but at the PPV he guarantees he'll beat his ass and knock his ass out.
Booker doesn't want to wait and he meets Steiner in the aisle to fight it out. Then Jarrett attacks from behind. Then Sting's music hits and out he comes to even it up. The rest of the locker room comes out and Awesome goes right after Steiner for some reason, everyone trying to pull them apart.
Commercial
Replay of the chaos before the break.
Pamela is backstage with Steiner and Midajah. She says Awesome wants a warmup match tonight, then Steiner calls Booker chicken and Awesome's a dead man. He says he's gonna beat Awesome's ass so hard he'll wish he was in the 70s, and wants him to write down exactly what he's thinking, because when Steiner goes back he wants to know what it's like for a lamb to go to slaughter. Then he starts making lamb noises and calls Awesome to slaughter. I... I don't even know what to say to that, and I don't think he did either, he was so fired up he kept stumbling over his words.
Out comes Sanders in headgear and gloves. He has a mic and says Cat talks about being the greatest week after week, and all his karate titles, but he doesn't come where Sanders does, he's from Badstreet, USA, the further down the road you go the worse it gets, and he lives in the last house on the right. He says Cat will find out what it means to be SOL at the PPV. He's put together an exhibition with three of the best in WCW.
Three-Round Kickboxing Match: "Above Average" Mike Sanders (WCW Cruiserweight Champion) vs Jung Dragons (w/ Leia Meow)
Pre-Match: Sanders wets his gloves before things start.
Rounds are a minute each. So it starts out with Jamie-San. Sanders misses a right and Jamie lays in some of his own. Boots in the corner by Jamie, then Sanders rubs his glove in his eyes and delivers some shots to the face, and Jamie's out. in about 40 seconds.
In next is Yang. Yang with a right and some body shots, then more in the corner. Sanders rubs his glove in his face again, then drops him with a left. Sanders wets his gloves again and Yang is out.
Kaz is in now and he delivers knees to the face, knocking the headgear off. Roundhouse by Kaz, then Sanders face first in the corner. Kaz goes face first in the corner, then a kick to the face. Kaz is out. This thing went 2:31.
Leia comes in now and tries a low blow but he's wearing a cup. Then he wets the cup and corners her until Ms. Jones comes out with Cat's cape. Eventually Cat comes in from behind and hits a spin kick. Cat dances and Sanders is out cold. Cat leaves. Replay of the kick.
Commercial
Kronik come out. Adams gets the mic and says this thing with them and Goldberg started as just business, nothing personal, as they were hired and paid a lot of money, because they're the most unstoppable force in WCW, and Goldberg's huge ego wouldn't turn down a match against them. Things have changed though, it's gotten real personal, and says you can take the money, the streak, and Goldberg's career and stick it, because they have more to lose than he does at the PPV. He says if they win, people will say they should have since they're two monsters against one, but if Goldberg wins, it makes him the baddest in WCW and on the face of the planet. That won't happen though in the real world, and when the walls of reality come crashing down on Goldberg he'll understand what Adams is talking about, and why it's all about Kronik. Clark takes the mic. He doesn't know how "these guys" got the money to hire them, before calling out 3 Count.
So 3 Count come out. Shannon takes the mic and says they came back from a sold out concert for the ladies who wanna love. Evan takes the mic and says they're for the love and ladies, but also "for them hos", before handing the mic to Shane. He says there won't be any interruptions tonight because WCW's greatest entertainers, the Kings of Pop, have hired the men who will bring the mighty Goldberg down. They're going to perform every song of until the end of the show.
Clark and Adams get to talking and decide 3 Count don't have enough money to make them sit through their crap, then Adams clotheslines Shane and we have an... I wanna say impromptu but there was a ref already conveniently in the ring so...
Kronik vs 3 Count
Full nelson slam to Evan from Adams, then he's tossed to the floor. Pumphandle powerslam from Clark to Shannon. High Time to Shane for the win in 1:02.
Commercial
Pamela is backstage with Nash, she wants to know what he meant by tough love earlier. Nash says Stasiak has a lot of potential, and unlike WCW he doesn't give up on people easily, and to quote Willem Dafoe from "The Last Temptation of Christ," "Let those who have not sinned cast the first stone." He says Stasiak will get a second chance, and after sitting with Sanders and the other Thrillers he's put something together, a test: either Stasiak gets his head in the game or he leaves without it.
He says he's not in a good mood this week, because two days before his best friend Scott Hall's birthday, the guy received his walking papers from this "great company" of theirs. He says the Outsider gimmick isn't a work and it's on, Outsiders will run again. Then he leaves. OK this promo made even less sense than Steiners.
Out come MIA impersonating Team Canada: Rection as Storm, Wall as Duggan, Loco as Elix and Leroux as... a moose I guess? This doesn' t really work when Team Canada only has three members. Rection wants to be serious for a moment, and Leroux points out his belt is upside down, but Rection says it's not from where he's standing. Rection introduces Canada's greatest athletes: 100 oz. and under ex-champion Whine Time; turncoat traitor "Jigsaw" Jim Jughead; and unlike the Americans, Canada has never lost a war. Leroux says they've never been in a war (eh), and there's never been a need for a war on drugs, and Leroux says that's because they just drink beer and Molson (eh). Canada's also never had a political sex scandal, and Leroux says it's because their politicians are virgins, as Rection points out like himself. Wall tries getting a USA chant going. Rection asks why he's not chanting Canada, and Wall says it's because he can't spell it, before calling him tough guy and shouting "Hooooooooooo!" He also has this giant 2x4 and nearly knocks out his teammates with it. Chavo says they don't want none of him and his Mr. T starter kit, and no one's tougher than Whine Time.
Leroux breaks character and brings up my earlier point of Team Canada only having three people, and he can't be Guns because he doesn't have boobs, and instead he's stuck being the big, dumb, Canadian moose. Wall thought he was the only big, dumb, Canadian moose (tough guy, hooooooooooooo!) Rection takes off the Storm wig and says Canada started a war that MIA is gonna finish, and he will take everything the Great North geeks have to offer and take the US Title, Major Guns, and they all just took their dignity. What in the actual fuck was this promo? I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh a little, but I'm thinking, half the shit they said about Canada aren't even insults. It's like they're trying way too hard to be DX or something.
Commercial
Pamela is backstage with Awesome. Awesome says Steiner is easy to tick off, you just have to look at him the wrong way and brags about beating on him earlier. He says he's not a sheep and he's not coming to any slaughter and he's kicking Steiner's butt tonight. It's just a warm-up for Monday and his title shot.
Thrillers and Nash head out to the ring. Nash has a mic. He says that four years and four months ago he and Hall walked into WCW, and he tells Stasiak that they exemplified what a team was, both shoot and work, their success is etched in the record books, possibly the greatest tag team of all time. His fellow teammates are the elite, the future of the business, but for some reason Stasiak wants no part of it, so tonight since he wants to be alone he stands alone. Thrillers and Nash go to ringside.
Career-Threatening Streak Match: Shawn Stasiak vs Goldberg (11-0)
Stasiak wastes no time as he sends Goldberg off the ropes, he ducks a clothesline, Stasiak hits a back elbow but it barely fazed Goldberg. Stasiak is murdered with a spear and a jackhammer for the win in 42 seconds. (12-0)
Nash and the Thrillers head to the back as Goldberg grabs a mic. He says in six, long days, it'll be his pleasure driving both of Kronik's asses into the mat because that's "what he do". He says it always took two of them to take down one of him, but at the PPV they're both next.
Commercial
We learn from Schiavone that Boogie Knights, Jindrak/O'Haire and Filthy Animals will have a three-way dance for the tag titles at the PPV as Boogie Knights come out, and Disqo gets a mic. He promised a big announcement on WCW Live, and they're not going to insult the fans' intelligence, and there's some big question that needs to be asked. Everyone wants to know who let the dogs out and where they at, and they're starting the investigation in Little Rock. This fan shot encapsulates this whole segment...
Kidman ducks a double clothesline and gets Jindrak with a dropkick, then Wright gets him with a spinning heel kick. Double teaming as Wright holds up Jindrak, then Kidman as they get their shots in. Jindrak sent off the ropes, Jindrak avoids a back body drop, and ducks a clothesline from Wright who nails Kidman instead. Now Wright and Jindrak double team Kidman, Kidman sent off the ropes, popped up and dropkicks Wright, then caught with a tilt-a-whirl side slam from Jindrak. Wright with a bridging German to Jindrak but Kidman breaks it up.
Wright face first in the corner, then Kidman sits him up top. Jindrak gets Kidman up on his shoulders, then a neckbreaker before Wright nails Jindrak with a missile dropkick from the top, then a cover for two.Wright with a baseball slide misses O'Haire on the outside, then Kidman nails him with one of his own. Rey and Disqo jump in before the champs hip toss Kidman over the ropes into the ring, Jindrak covers but Wright breaks it up. Uppercut from Wright and Jindrak clotheslined out tot he floor. Wright caught with the Kid Krusher for the win in 2:26.
Fight breaks out in the ring between all six with Rey and Kidman standing tall.

Pamela is backstage with Crowbar. He has a staff that he's polishing (get it?) and says Awesome has changed his life, they're wearing out the shocks on the bus every other week, then tries to get Pamela on the bus. Jimmy Hart randomly runs up to tell Crowbar he has a match right now so they leave.
We get a hype package for the PPV before Crowbar makes his way out to the ring for his match. Now we have Vampiro making his return from... I don't know what. ICP and Muta are nowhere to be seen but he has nunchucks in his hand, and he's wearing MMA gloves for... reasons.
Vampiro vs Crowbar
Crowbar meets him in the aisle bt gets hit in the ribs with the nunchucks, then the back repeatedly. Vamp tosses them to Penzer and he and Crowbar slug it out, Crowbar face first off the apron. Crowbar tries a kick but it's caught and he's low blowed, before getting whipped into the guard rail. Crowbar gets his shots in and Vamp is sent into the guard rail, before getting in the ring.
Vamp back on the attack with clubs to the back, backed into the corner. Crowbar fights back with chops and backs Vamp in the corner, only to be caught with a spin kick. Vamp goes for a side headlock but he's crotched on the top rope, and Crowbar knocks him to the floor with some chops, followed by a baseball slide. Vamp into the guard rail again, then a short-arm clothesline. Crowbar with a running splash off the apron, the a bulldog onto a chair. Vamp into a guard rail again, then Crowbar with a front suplex onto the steps. Vamp is limping after hitting the steps but gets a boot up, then launches off the steps and slams a chair into Crowbar's face.
Back in the ring, Vamp with chair in hand but he's caught with a back suplex. Slingshot splash from Crowbar from the apron, then goes up top, only to be caught. Vamp joins him up top for a belly to belly overhead. Vamp takes the chair again and nails Crobar in the head, and he's right up again, then another shot to the head. Vamp to the middle rope only to get the chair thrown at him. Vamp throws it at him and he catches it, spin kicks it back into Crowbar's face for a cover and he gets his foot on the rope.
Vamp back to the middle rope but he's cut off. Crowbar joins him up there for a Frankensteiner, then gets the chair and nails Vamp in the face. Chair is laid across the chest and Crowbar hits a rolling leg drop over the ropes, and Vamp rolls out of the ring. Club to the back by Crowbar and some chops as they fight up the aisle, then Vamp with some shots. Now they fight up beside the stage and over toward a DJ booth. Crowbar whipped into a Nitro Girl cage, and now two hooded people bringout a pair of stacked tables. Vamp has the cage door slammed on his head, and his head and neck are wedged. Crowbar tries to suplex him through the tables but the hooded guys grab onto his legs. Vamp with a chokeslam through the tables. The ref just calls for the bell so I guess this is over in 9:50. Vamp wins?Where do I even begin here, first no one seems to have any idea what's going on, commentary spend most of the match wondering why this match is happening and what the rules are, the pacing is all over the place, and we have a nonsensical finish. I mean it was a fun brawl I guess and the chokeslam through the tables looked great. Also, is Vamp an MMA fighter now or something?
Vamp gets a mic as EMTs tend to Crowbar. He says this is all on Mike Awesome, Crowbar's blood is on his hands. He shows us footage from a month ago, when he and Awesome had that good hardcore match on Nitro, when Crowbar was powerbombed over the ropes through a table. He says he's had time to think about it, and his sick brain plotted every day, and this is personal, what he does best. He says at the PPV he wants Awesome to think if it was worth trying to be the big shot, and his ass is his. Crowbar is stretchered out.
Commercial
Replay of Crowbar going through the tables.
Konnan and Tygress take forever to come out, Konnan with a mic in hand. We see what happened last week when Douglas sent Rey to the hospital. Konnan hypes up the crowd and calls Douglas and Torrie out, and out they come. Franchise though has his arm in a cast and ,sling, this happened on Thunder apparently. Douglas says the matchmakers had them set to tear the house down, but he's injured, something that would put most men out of the sport. Torrie calls him dignified and respected as fans boo him, and Douglas says she's been heavily medicated and a nervous wreck with him being injured all week. Konnan says she's only like that because Douglas hasn't been serving her right, then offers to give her a facial.
Douglas calls him Carlos for some reason and says he has the guts to fight any given night, but he doesn't have the tools tonight. He calls Douglas a big bitch and grabs Douglas by the neck, then says he asked around and it seems Douglas' injury is legit, so he'll see him at the PPV. Or not because...
Konnan (w/ Tygress) vs The Franchise (w/ Torrie Wilson)
Douglas tears off the sling and tries to attack, only to be sent off the ropes into a drop toe hold, sending Douglas into his own cast. Konnan stomps away and gets some shots in the corner. Douglas taken down into an octopus stretch ads Douglas screams for Torrie. Konnan lets go and Douglas is sent off the ropes into a rolling thunder lariat, Douglas rolling out of the ring.
More shots by Konnan and Douglas' arm is slammed off the steps, before they return to the ring. Konnan twists the arm over the top rope and Douglas gets his chain from Torrie. Douglas decks Konnan with the ref's back turned and hits the Franchiser for the win in 2:10.
Tygress and Torrie are fighting on the floor too until Douglas come to the save. In come Torrie and Rey as Douglas and Torrie leave.
Commercial
Commentary send their condolences to the family of Yokozuna who passed away earlier that day. And now Steiner comes out with Midajah and a fucking tiger. And then they just take the tiger to the back. Steiner takes the mic and says he's no preacher or prophet, he has no crystal ball and can't see into the future, but at the PPV he can bet Steiner's gonna beat his bald ass up.
Scott Steiner (w/ Midajah) vs "That 70s Guy" Mike Awesome
Booker T on commentary.
Pre-Match: Booker also makes his way out. Steiner tries to attack in the aisle but it allows Awesome to attack him from behind.
Awsome with rights, then Steiner sent into the guard rail, then they take it to the ring. Slingshot splash from Awesome and a cover for two. Mounted rights by Awesome and a leg drop, then a cover for two. Scoop slam by Awesome, then he goes up top for a frog splash, another cover for two. Awesome sent off the ropes, tripped up by Midajah, then an atomic drop by Steiner. Midajah then comes in with a roundhouse to knock Awesome out of the ring because... reasons.
Awesome sent into the guard rail, then a chair to the back before returning to the ring. Awesome sent off the ropes into a clothesline and an elbow, cover and a kick out, and Steiner nearly kills the ref telling him to count fair. T-bone suplex by Steiner and some push-ups, then spits out at Booker before booting Awesome in the head. Boots in the corner from Steiner and some rights, some chops. Mounted rights from Steiner, then a spinning belly to belly, Awesome rolling out of the ring. Steiner sent into the guard rail, then a clothesline from Awesome. Back in the ring, Awesome up top only to be cut off. He fights off Steiner before delivering a flying clothesline, cover and a near fall.
Awesome avoids a clothesline and hits a German suplex, then hits a corner splash. Awesome tries for the Awesome Bomb but Midajah grabs hold of his leg, then Steiner grabs his pipe and nails Awesome with it. Awesome set on the top rope and Steiner picks him up for a Samoan drop from the middle rope, cover but Awesome kicks out. Recliner gets him the win though in 5:42. Alright, I actually liked this match. Awesome didn't look too weak, and he didn't lose clean, and this makes sense given they're both challenging for the World Title. Booker and Stevie were also great on commentary together.
There's about 11 seconds left in the show when the bell rings, and the last thing we see is Steiner leaving the ring heading toward Booker.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Well... I mean what can I say? Steiner was easily the best part of this show, between his promos and the tiger, and Booker was pretty good himself in his promo earlier. Crowbar and Vamp had a decent enough match. None of the other matches got any real time, and the other segments were just kinda shit or meh. As a go-home show this wasn't much, but that's pretty on par for WCW. With a run time of 1:29:44, this show had a total 27:11 of wrestling.
Thunder
Still in Little Rock for this edition of Thunder, the final show before Halloween Havoc. Welcomed by Schiavone before we get to the first match of the night.
WCW Hardcore Championship: Reno (c) vs Kwee-Wee (w/ Paisley)
Pre-Match: We're reminded that Reno won the title back on the October 2nd edition of Nitro, after Sanders screwed AWOL with a nonsense ruling following outside interference. Kwee-Wee comes out with pink trash cans with assorted weapons inside, while Reno has a kendo stick in hand. Also various weapons scattered in the ring. We also learn that the main event will be Booker, Goldberg and Sting vs Jarrett and Kronik.
Reno knocks KW off the apron mid-entrance, then into the apron he goes. KW face first off the apron, then a second time before he's tossed into the ring. KW gets a trash lid and nails Reno in the head, then Reno blocks a springboard sunset and nails KW with the lid this time. Lid laid on his face and a knee drop into the lid, then tries a splash but KW sends the lid into his face on the way down. Kendo stick to the ribs of KW, then the arm, then a lid to the head again before going back to the floor.
Paisley hands KW a broom and he nails Reno in the ribs and back. Now he has the pink lids and sandwiches Reno's head with them. KW goes nuts, then nails him in the back of the head with a pink lid. Back in the ring, KW ducks a stick shot, then hits an alley oop, before a trash can to the ribs. KW pulls out a table and sets it up at ringside, then has a trash can dropped on his head. Lid off the apron to the head of KW, then face first off the apron. Reno sent into and over the guard rail, KW off the rail with a lid to the head, then again and again, Reno starts fighting back and they go deeper into the crowd over to the dancer cages and the DJ.
KW into the dancer cage face first, then the door is slammed into his ankle repeatedly. Paisley tries to help but gets scared off. KW sent repeatedly into the guard rail, then Reno is sent into it. Bat to the ribs and lid to the head of Reno, then Reno is thrown onto the ramp. Reno fights back and tries to Roll the Dice, but Paisley gets him in the back with a pink trash can. Reno goes after her now anda llows KW to nail him in the head with the can, then the back of the head. Can to the head again as they return to the ring.
Reno gets a paint tray but gets it booted back into his face, then KW piledrives him onto the tray. KW gets the tray but goes into the corner, then the tray to the back. Roll the Dice to retain in 7:52. Went a bit too long but it was OK. I expect AWOL to come out since the table was never used.
Paisley slaps Reno, so she gets hit with Roll the Dice, then KW sent into the corner. Reno tries to suplex him from the apron through the table but as expected AWOL nails him in the back with a kendo stick, before chokeslamming him through the table from the apron.

Okerlund is with Buff backstage. Okerlund asks if he knocked up Stacy, and Buff shows us when David bought that tape off MI Smooth a month ago, saying it all started there, so he challenges Smooth to a match for later. He didn't even answer Okerlund's question. And we still don't know what the fuck a DNA Match is.
Nash's music hits but it takes forever for anyone to even come out. Eventually the Thrillers come out, then even more eventually Nash with a cricket back. Stasiak is mysteriously absent though. Nash has the mic and calls the Thrillers the future of pro wrestling no matter what anyone says, and in the ring there are times for individual greatness, out of it though, whether in the back, at the club, they're a team. One of them doesn't feel like they're part of the team though, so Nash calls out Stasiak.
Out comes Stasiak with a mic, reluctant to enter the ring. Nash if he's asked his lesson, but Stasiak just says he's still in pain after being fed to Goldberg. He questions Nash's coaching ability and says he reminds him of Bobby Knight. Nash warns him to drop the bass from his voice, or he'll be SOL. If Stasiak wants to be a Thriller, Nash says he'll have to prove it, and get into "the position."
Oh Nash is here to give him a spanking with the cricket bat. Stasiak reluctantly bends over. Palumbo grabs a chair and holds it up against Stasiak's ass and Nash hits the chair with the bat into his ass. Nash says next time it'll be for real, and either he gets on the team or gets on his knees. Sigh.

Buff Bagwell vs MI Smooth
Pre-Match: We're shown footage from a few weeks back when David had kidnapped Buff. Smooth is actually in wrestling gear for a change and takes forever to get to the ring, there's a lot of time wasting on this show already.
Smooth with a knee and a club to the back off a lock up, then a double ax to the back. Headbutt from Smooth, then a chop and a scoop slam. Splash from Smooth, then he mocks Buff's strut and posing. Buff with rights now, Smooth sent off the ropes into a back elbow. Buff tries a swinging neckbreaker and Smooth twists the completely wrong way and fucks it up. Scoop slam by Buff and a cover for two.
Buff sent off the ropes, tries a sunset flip, but Smooth drops his weight onto Buff's chest. Buff sent to the corner and hit with a running splash, then Buff sent across the ring, Smooth misses a splash, Buff rolls him up for two. Smooth goes for a suplex, Buff slips out, off the ropes with a crossbody into a cover for two. Buff with rights, off the ropes, misses a clothesline, caught with a powerslam and a cover for two.
Nerve hold by Smooth, which they're calling the Ice Clamp, but Buff fights out pretty easily and hits a double-arm DDT. Buff to the middle rope and hits the Blockbuster for the win, though Smooth kicks out at 3, in 3:36.
David runs out immediately and attacks from behind. Buff sent off the ropes , avoids a scoop slam and Buff hits an inverted DDT. Buff has a mic and says they'll find out if he's the father at the PPV, then leaves.

Cat and Ms. Jones make their way out, he has a mic in hand. Cat brings up their match at the PPV, but then suggest they just do this now, and tells Sanders to find himself a partner. Out comes Sanders, Cat tells him to find a female partner, or put one of the Natural Born Ratings Killers in a dress as a partner. Sanders calls Ms. Jones a Cheeze Whiz sucking, trailer-trash hoochie, and says if she can't lower her standards she should lower her prices. Cat says Sanders' toupee is cheap. Sanders already has a partner and knows what she can do, he's been there, and she better or it'll be her job.
The Cat & Ms. Jones vs "Above Average" Mike Sanders & Leia Meow
Sanders tries to get Leia to start this, then tries to get Cat from behind. Cat with some rapid kicks before tossing Sanders to the floor. Sanders returns to the ring just to tag in Leia. and Cat tags in Ms. Jones. Leia has a riding crop and Sanders comes in, tries to get her to kick Ms. Jones' ass. Leia slaps him, Ms. Jones low blows him, Leia starts riding his back. Ms. Jones takes a cup from Cat and rubs it in Sanders' face. Uppercut from Cat, then Sanders sent off the ropes, he tries a sunset flip, right hand from Cat and an elbow drop. Ms. Jones and Leia pin Sanders for a win I guess in 2:05.
Leia leaves and Cat gives Ms. Jones his cape and she starts dancing before taking her to the back.
Commercial
Okerlund is backstage with Sting and Booker. Sting thinks whoever booked the match tonight has a problem with "Little Jeffrey," because putting him in the ring with Sting before the PPV is not what "Little Jeffrey Slappy" wants. He tells Jarrett to do whatever he can to get away from him tonight, run the other way, hide behind Kronik, call the militia or his mommy, because he sure would.
Booker noticeably got a kick out of Sting's promo and says the two of them go way back, they've had their ups and downs, that's why he's happy to tag with him tonight, but the only man out of the equation is Steiner. He knows Steiner will be watching in the back, and dares him to get involved.

Vampiro vs Big Vito
Pre-Match: Vampiro looks his... well, normal by his standards. We see what happened to Crowbar on Nitro, and his match with Awesome has been made official for the PPV.
Lock up to begin and a shoving contest up against the ropes into the corner, Vito overpowering Vamp until the ref pulls them apart. Vito takes control with some chain wrestling, then a fireman's carry and a cover for two, then a leg sweep and a cover from Vamp for two. Vamp with kicks to the back of the leg, then some shots from Vito until he's backed into the corner, then a roundhouse. Vamp sent off the ropes into a hip toss, then a scoop slam and an uppercut. Vito tries to suplex Vamp over the ropes but he lands on the apron, only to be clotheslined to the floor.
Vamp sent into the guard rail, then some rights from Vito, then Vamp face first off the steps. Back in the ring, gut shot from Vamp and a chop takes down Vito, then misses a running knee in the corner. Double-arm suplex from Vito before going up top and hits the diving headbutt, makes the cover but Vamp kicks out. Vito back up top with the diving elbow, plays to the crowd and goes for the cover for two.
Rear chinlock by Vito. Vamp is starting to pass out but he fights his way out of it, off the ropes into a knee to the gut, then a jackknife cover from Vito for two, back into the rear chinlock. Vamp starts to pass out again and fights his way out once more, off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and a double clothesline takes each other out. Vamp goes up top with a spinning heel kick, makes the cover but Vito kicks out.
Vamp sent off the ropes, gut shot by Vamp, powerslam by Vito and a cover for two. Vito ducks a back hand and hits a sidewalk slam, then off the ropes with a leg drop, cover again for two. Slm by Vito before going to the middle rope, tries a Vader Bomb but Vamp gets the knees up. Vamp misses the spin kick and eats a Mafia Kick, then avoids a scoop slam and hits the Nail in the Coffin for the win in 8:52. Wow, an actual clean finish on these shows. Went a little too long, and the rest hold spots were unnecessary but it was a fine little match.

Team Canada makes their way out, minus Duggan. Storm wants to be serious as always, and says its been a long haul on the road for Team Canada, because if being down under wasn't bad enough they had to come back to the US and the disrespectful crowd in attendance. Not to mention MIA poked fun at them on Nitro, but he's Calgary and doesn't appreciate humor or some goofball imitation. Tonight they take out Loco and Cajun, and at the PPV he and Duggan take out Rection. He calls for the anthem but it's interrupted like always.
Lance Storm (WCW Canadian Heavyweight Champion) & "Primetime" Elix Skipper (w/ Major Guns) vs Lt. Loco & Cpl. Cajun
Fight among all four to start, then Elix and Loco are whipped into each other, Loco with a floatover facebuster. Storm misses him with a clothesline and Cajun hits a tilt-a-whirl side slam. Elix sent off the ropes, drop toe hold and a dropkick to the side of the head by MIA. Loco and Elix are legal to start as Loco hits some chops, then Elix sent off the ropes into a clothesline. Storm knocked off the apron and AWOL and Rection are sitting in the front row for some reason. Cajun tags in, Elix sent off the ropes, popped up and down by Loco, then some shake, rattle and roll from Cajun. Elix sent to the corner for some chops, then Cajun sent across the ring, goes to the apron, sent back in with an enziguri by Storm. That was neat. Elix sends Cajun to the corner and Storm tags in, Cajun sent off the ropes into a dropkick. Elix back in, exchanging shots until Elix hits a belly to belly, covers for two. Rear chinlock by Cajun. Cajun fights out, off ther opes, springboard facebuster by Cajun.
Loco gets the hot tag and in comes Storm, sent off the ropes into a dropkick, then a DDT to Elix and a clothesline to Storm, one to Elix sends him to the floor. Loco whipped to the corner but goes to the middle rope, hits a tornado DDT and covers but Elix breaks it up. Elix dropkicked out by Loco as Duggan makes his way out. Storm sent off the ropes, ducks a double clothesline, Duggan tripes up Cajun and Storm hits Loco with a superkick, covers but Loco kicks out.
AWOL and Rection have hopped the guard rail and fight with Duggan in the aisle. Elix caught by Rection on a crossbody before being driven spine first into the ring post. Backbreaker to Loco by Storm as AWOL sets up a table at ringside, Guns gets on the apron with the Canadian flag, tries to nail Storm but nails Loco instead as he ducks, then Storm tries to roll him up but Loco rolls through with a roll up of his own to get the win in 5:07. Actually a good match until the overbooked crap as usual.
Storm can't believe what happened as Elix gets chokeslammed through the table. Duggan is also in the ring now for some reason as MIA and Team Canada stare each other down. Storm gets on the mic says this all ends at the PPV, Rection never gets the gold and he never sees Guns again.

Okerlund is backstage with Jarrett and Kronik. Okerlund cuts him off as he tries to call him a Jurassic Slap Ass and has had enough, and Jarrett wonders if he's in a bad mood because he and Pam broke up. He says he doesn't take advice from anyone, especially Sting, and he's going to call Sting's EMT to haul his carcass out of there. He leaves. Clark tells Goldberg that after they pin him tonight, his career is over, his win streak is over, and he can kiss his ass goodbye.

Now everyone's fighting on the floor.
Rey takes Disqo back into the ring as they go up top, Disqo shoved to his back, then Jindrak tries to cut him off, Rey gets him with the seated senton. Sean kicks Disqo in the side of the head, then hits a springboard Seanton Bomb for the win 4:52. Alright I liked this match. Particularly that springboard from Sean.
Now everyone fights again until the refs break it up.

Time for the main event. Jarrett is out first and gets a mic and says the PPV may be Sunday, but doesn't think there'll be anything left of his opponents. He calls Kronik out to raise some hell before an edition of Slapnuts Theater. So they come out and say nothing. Then Booker comes out with a mic and says Jarrett talks a good game, but speaking for himself and the fans he tells Jarrett to shut the hell up. He says Jarrett was right that they're gonna raise hell tonight, and he has two guys in the back who can't wait to get the party started.
Career-Threatening Streak Match: Jeff Jarrett & Kronik vs Goldberg (12-0), Sting & Booker T (WCW World Heavyweight Champion)
Booker and Jarrett start the match. Feeling out process to start with Booker taking control with a spin kick. Goldberg tags in and Jarrett immediately retreats, then after a chat Adams tags in. They get in each other's face before Goldberg hits a clothesline, then a butterfly suplex. Clark and Sting tag in. Shots to Clark and Jarrett and Clark misses a running knee. Double hot tag to Goldberg and Sting. They start laying out everyone. Adams off the ropes and caught with a powerslam from Goldberg, then tries for the spear as Clarke is in the corner and rams head first into the ring post. Fucking hell, ow. He has to be concussed. Adams tries to cover and Goldberg still powers out of it, even though Booker comes in to make the save. High Time to Goldberg, now Sting low blows Adams. Steiner is suddenly here now and fights with Booker at ringside. Bulldog by Sting and a Stinger Splash, then he ducks a guitar shot by Jarrett before he gets a Deathdrop for the win in 7:03. An excellent main event, even despite Goldberg spearing the ring post head first. Goldberg goes 13-0.
Goldberg seems to be fine now as he's seen whipping Clark into the guard rail. Steiner nails Sting with the pipe right in the head, then Booker repeatedly. Jarrett with the figure 4 on Sting and the Recliner on Booker. Kronik are beating on Goldberg at ringside and the show fades out.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
OK, well that was a better go-home show than Nitro was. Three matches I can say I enjoyed for the most part, and nothing was particularly shit on this show, they seemed to actually care about this show. So I don't have a lot to say here. With a run time of 1:17:23, there was a total 39:27 of wrestling on this show.
*Side note: There was a Goldberg interview cut out of this show for reasons I haven't figured out, which is why it's a bit shorter than usual.
