Week of December 12, 2000 - Starrcade Go-Home
Nitro
For some reason, we start with a chef making souffle somewhere backstage. He says he needs some ingredient, and when he turns around, Jarrett hits him with a guitar. He says that's an ingredient he forgot, then calls him a bayou pumping slapnut and tells him to choke on that.
Recap of how last week's Nitro ended.
Live from the Centurytel Center in Bossier City, LA for the final Nitro before Starrcade. This show is already infinitely better, as Madden has been replaced with Stevie Ray on commentary.
Cut to Sanders who promises to Luger he'll make some kind of match tonight.
Out comes Flair. He starts with some cheap pops, but he has business to get to, that being Steiner and Sid. He's promised that they're both here tonight, but they're going to play by the rules: 1) They won't come into contact with each other until Starrcade. 2) If they don't, they will be suspended, and Steiner will lose the title. He continues to call Steiner their flagship, and reminds us Arn is the reason he still has a job, and teases Sting, Booker T and Arn being there for revenge. He also announces Steiner vs Sgt. A-Wall for the World Title for... reasons.
Out comes Sanders and points out Steiner doesn't care who he beats up. He's also here to make his own match, then calls the fans cheese-sucking, bayou backwoods people and says they can't afford a ticket to the show. He makes Perfect Event vs Jindrak & O'Haire vs Insiders for tonight. Flair one ups Sanders and puts him in a match with Sid for tonight, and if he doesn't he loses his job as commissioner. If the Thrillers interfere, they're history.
Commercial
OK they actually give some context to the Steiner/A-Wall match. We see footage of Steiner randomly attacking Lash earlier in the day and A-Wall making the save until security pull them apart. A-Wall still has no business challenging for the World Title but it's something at least.
Okerlund is backstage with Sid. He says Steiner's made the ultimate mistake and pushed him too far and will pay.
Jindrak & O'Haire remove the TV from Goldberg's locker room for some reason.
Sarge arrives and chokes wisecracking Disqo, gets in his face and yells a bunch of stuff before goin to find Sanders.
Out comes Lance and Major Guns. They're scheduled to have a mixed tag with Cat and Ms. Jones, but Storm has an idea to make it more interesting. Since Cat is always running his mouth and saying he's the greatest, if Cat loses tonight, he has to sing the Canadian anthem on Thunder. He calls for everyone to rise for said anthem in the meantime, but Cat of course interrupts. He calls Storm a power ranger, calls Guns a chicken head, and insists he's the greatest and that America's the greatest country in the world. He calls Storm Sgt. Carter and proposes a counter stip, that if Storm loses he has to sing the American anthem on Thunder instead. Storm has no problem with that because he doesn't lose.
Lance Storm & Major Guns vs The Cat & Ms. Jones
Cat has to sing the Canadian anthem on Thunder is he and Ms. Jones lose. Storm has to sing the American anthem on Thunder if he an Major Guns lose.
The ladies start this match for some reason. Lance distracts Ms. Jones, allowing Guns to hit an admittedly good looking dropkick to the back, sending Jones face first into the corner. Hair pulling by Guns. Jones sent off the ropes ducks a clothesline, connects with a roundhouse and a cover, Storm makes the save. Storm is tagged in and in comes Cat. Cat sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, ducks another, sunset flip by Storm is blocked and he's decked with a right, followed by an elbow. Storm sent to the corner chest first, Cat hits the Feliner already and makes the cover, but Guns puts Storm's foot on the rope.
Jones and Guns get into at ringside. Elix comes in and misses a right to Cat. Duggan somewhere off-screen tries to toss the 2x4 to Storm but overshoots and Cat catches it. Shot to the ribs and a kick to the chest gets Cat the win. (3:08)
Cat attacks Elix a bit as he slides in.
Goldberg arrives.
Commercial
Jimmy Hart is still doing the DJ crap.
Lash is on the phone in the MIA locker room, seemingly with Chavo, before Rection walks in. Sgt. A-Wall is there too. Rection doesn't care that much and wants to talk strategy, with A-Wall's World Title match, plus Lash has Franchise later. He says they want to take them out, and tells them to win by any means necessary.
Thrillers are talking in Sanders office. He's not sweating his match with Sid. He makes an old joke about Nash and Page. He's now adding an Kronik as an "insurance policy" to the three-way tag match tonight, so it's a four-way now. Reno isn't happy after what they did to him last week.
Back to commentary, Crowbar comes out with Daffney, both decked out in 70s gear and with his olden wrench. Apparently someone told him to come out, he has no idea why. Out comes Norman Smiley. Daffney's not happy with the clothes Crowbar has her wearing. Norman has come to realize he belongs int he hardcore division, being the only 2x champion, so he's going back to his roots to conquer it. He makes an open challenge to a hardcore match, in hopes of getting a title shot.
Hardcore Match: Screamin' Norman Smiley vs Meng (w/ Paisley)
Pre-Match: Paisley now sporting an afro. There's also a single trash can with assorted weapons in the middle of the ring.
Meng attacks in the corner with rights and stomps, choking Norman with his boot. Meng gets whipped into the trash can, then sent face first off it but he no sells and Norman bails to the floor. Meng with a headbutt as they fight up the aisle, Norman sent into the guard rail, then Meng sent into it. Norman tries a headbutt but hurts himself, before getting whipped into the DJ stage. Another headbutt by Meng. There's a Santa in the crowd and Norman takes his bag of toys. Meng and Norman trade shots, but Meng keeps control. Norman face first off the DJ stage, then a chop by Meng.
Meng takes Norman back to the ring, Norman gripping the toy bag, then trades more shots until he gets another headbutt. Back in the ring, Norman throws various toys at Meng. Santa enters the ring now and throws powder into both their eyes. Second week in a row, referee calls for the bell, in what I guess is a DQ? (3:29)
Santa and Paisley argue, and in his blindness Meng gets Paisley in the deathgrip. Turns out Santa is the returning Terry Funk. Now Kwee-Wee is here to try and help Paisley. Funk nails Norman in the head with a chair. Then he nails Meng repeatedly in the head with it and Meng eventually drops to the mat. Funk gets a mic and says he's the real Santa, then nails Kwee-Wee repeatedly with a chair across the back and ribs. He's here to give all the perverts a present, 11 hoes at one time. And he proceeds to say "ho" 11 times. He turns his attention to Crowbar and challenges him for the title for Starrcade. Crowbar joins him in the ring, accepts the challenge and gets killed with a chair to the head.
Promo video for Starrcade.
Commercial
Sarge storms into Sanders' office and demands a match with Luger tonight. Sanders can't give him Luger tonight, but makes it for Thunder, as long as he does Sanders a favor.
Harris Twins find some sub sandwiches in a random hallway and the Filthy Animals are watching from their locker room. Rey for some reason is sleeping in a suitcase. Apparently they did something to the sandwiches but we don't find out what.
Okerlund is backstage with Steiner and Midajah. Steiner says he's never cared about what Flair says, and says that Sid actually begged Flair to keep Steiner away from him, because Sid knew he was going to go through hell. He promises to knock Sid's ass out if he sees him. As for A-Wall, he thinks it's just a ploy for Flair to wear him down for the PPV, but as Flair sets them up, he knocks them down.
Commercial
Pamela is backstage with MIA. A-Wall says Steiner jumped one of their boys, so when he's done beating Steiner pillar to post he's going to take the belt. Rection says he's already apologized to Franchise, but if he wants to turn this into a war for the US Title he's not backing down. Tonight, he'll meet the Ragin Cajun on the front lines. I also only just realized they're not calling him Cpl. Cajun anymore. Lash says he's doing things his way, on his own and by any means necessary. Rection cuts him off and says that's something he remembers Chavo said (even though he literally said it himself earlier) and tells them not to be stupid. He says they do it the right way, their way,
Sanders is supposed to wrestle Sid now, but he comes out in his street clothes and a piece of paper in hand. He had a medical evaluation and the doctor says he can't wrestle. Out comes Sid, who has his old theme back, and also in street clothes. Mike has the music cut and says Sid is sensible, and repeats he's not medically cleared. He suggests they do it anther time, shake hands and part ways. Sid shakes his hand, just to drop him with a clothesline.
Sid Vicious vs "Above Average" Mike Sanders
Another clothesline from Sid, then Sanders sent off the ropes into a big boot. Spinebuster by Sid, followed by a chokeslam. Powerbomb gets Sid the win. (1:01) Man Sid is still over as hell.
Sid gets a mic and says something completely incoherent, though whatever he says cracks Stevie up.
Insiders are on their way to the ring.
Commercial
Sid grabs a security guy and wants the keys to all the cars. He gets thrown into a garage door and says it's not over.
Maria and Reno are at the far end of a hallway, she's trying to calm him down. Kronik come out of a nearby room. Reno attacks them with a kendo stick but he's easily outnumbered. Vito comes out of nowhere to save them but the Thrillers come out to split them up. Kronik aren't happy. Sounds like Vito will be Reno's partner for the PPV.
The Insiders vs The Perfect Event (WCW World Tag Team Champions) vs Mark Jindrak & Sean O'Haire
Pre-Match: Apparently Kronik said "fuck this" after that last segment, so this is back to being a three-way.
We've got Nash, O'Haire and Palumbo starting this out, so one from each team legal at once. Nash fends them off pretty easily and clonks their heads together. Corner clotheslines to both until Palumbo connects with a side kick. More double teaming on Nash, connecting with a double suplex. Palumbo covers for two. Nash sent off the ropes and hits a double clothesline.
Page gets the tag. In comes Stasiak and Jindrak and both eats lefts and rights. Stasiak gets a back elbow, discus lariat to Jindrak for two. Low blow by Stasiak, DDT by Jindrak. More double teaming taking Page to the corner, whiplashed multiple times, then Stasiak whipped into him with a clothesline, and Jindrak with the same, then Stasiak a third time. Stasiak fights out a nelson and gets Stasiak in a sleeper, then Jindrak gets Page in a sleeper at the same time. Stasiak with a jawbreaker on both of them to escape.
O'Haire and Palumbo back in, Nash gets the hot tag, cleaning house easily. Palumbo sent off the ropes into a big boot. Nash with the jackknife on Palumbo, but Jindrak with a springboard clothesline takes Nash down. Seanton Bomb. No one tries to pin him for some reason. Page gets Jindrak with the Diamond Cutter, then he's supposed to eat a belt shot but he leaves the ring, then realizes what his spot is and comes back in to take one from Stasiak. Palumbo's pulled on top of Nash, Perfect Event get the win. (4:25) I didn't mind this until the finish became a complete mess.
Commercial
During the break, Thrillers attacked Nash's knee, wrapping it around the ring post. Nash is just playing dead during the whole beatdown.
Sid is seen stepping out of a car.
Nash is limping backstage with Page by his side.
Career-Threatening Streak Match: "Sarge" Dewayne Bruce vs Goldberg (29-0)
Pre-Match: So commentary remind us of Goldberg's TV being taken out, so he's clueless to who his opponent is tonight.
Goldberg doesn't want any part of this match, you can't see any of what they're saying and Goldberg tries to leave. Luger comes out with a mic, to remind Goldberg that he still has his streak to keep going or he's forced to retire. Goldberg is still ready to leave until Sarge delivers some clubs to the back. Sarge with some forearms to the back and Goldberg won't fight back. Goldberg is finally getting pisses off but he just keep taking the abuse. Sarge sent off the ropes and killed with a spear. Goldberg tries to leave but Sarge grabs his ankle. Jackhammer for the win. (2:52) (30-0) A neat idea for a match, but this crowd didn't care even in the slightest about it, or Sarge for that matter.
Goldberg carries Sarge to the back.
Commercial
Crowbar, Daffney, Kwee-Wee and Meng are all sitting in a hallway backstage and Jamie Noble bumps into them. He wants some advice since this team with Evan isn't working out, all Evan cares about is his hair and hanging out with Wesley Snipes. He's interrupted by Evan who tells them what Sid is up to in the parking lot, so they all follow him.
The Franchise vs Cpl. Cajun
Pre-Match: Douglas has a mic like always, he says it makes him sick to his stomach to be there without Torrie by his side. He's going to speed up the dissolution of MIA by taking out Cajun, who gets his ass franchised.
Cajun catches a boot right away before sweeping the leg, mounting with vicious rights. Douglas sent off the ropes into a back drop, then a dropkick and a scoop slam for two from Cajun. Snap suplex and a floatover for two from Cajun. Cajun takes Douglas to the corner for chops, only to be sent off the ropes, floats up to headscissor Douglas to the floor. Suicide dive by Cajun sends Douglas into the guard rail, then face first off the announce table.
Back in the ring, Cajun off the ropes right into a powerslam. Cajun sent off the ropes into an inverted atomic drop, then avoids a clothesline, only for a double clothesline. Chavo's out and tries to hand Cajun a chair, while Douglas gets his chain out. Cajun takes the chair and nails Douglas in the ribs for the DQ. (2:58)
Douglas nails Cajun in the head with the chain and pummels with it, until Rection rushes out. Chavo's still here and they argue and get in each other's face.
Commercial
Plug for the WCW Trading Card game.
Jarrett brought more sandwiches for the Harrises even though they had some, but they have a match next.
Sid back in the parking lot in another car.
Pamela is backstage with Awesome, who has Bigelow at Starrcade. He says the war between them won't stop, first Bigelow laid out Crowbar, then attacked him, then tried to take him out last week jumping out of an ambulance. It reminded him that the Career Killer is itching to come back out, so he proposes they have an Ambulance Match.
Okerlund is elsewhere with Jarrett and the Twins, who are having stomach issues after eating those sandwiches. They're set to face the Animals tonight in an elimination tag match. Jarrett says they'll knock the Animals down one by one and that's what their fate will be at Starrcade. Okerlund tries to get a comment from one Twin, who says something will happen if he moves and runs off. The other twin runs off two. Jarrett leaves.
Commercial
Elimination Tag Team Match: Filthy Animals (w/ Tygress) vs Jeff Jarrett & Harris Twins(?)
Pre-Match: In one of the many segments cut from last week's Thunder, Jarrett and the Twins laid out the Animals in the parking garage. The Twins come out at first, but Ron runs back, Don sticks around a little longer but also runs back. So for now I guess this is a handicap match.
Konnan starts and is immediately beaten down by Jarrett. Konnan sent off the ropes, then Jarrett sent off into a back kick and a facebuster. Jarrett sent off the ropes into a rolling thunder clothesline. Double spinebuster by Kidman and Rey. Jarrett gets a low blow on Konnan, back drops Kidman to the floor, Stroke to Konnan for an elimination. Penzer and the production truck have no idea what's going on because Jarrett is almost announced as the winner and Jarrett's music briefly plays.
Rey in now, sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline. Jarrett hung up on the ropes by Kidman. Springboard leg drop by Rey for two. Jarrett counters an Irish whip into a stalling suplex. Rey sent chest first into the corner, then off the ropes into a boot. Jarrett tries a powerbomb but Rey fights enough to tag in Kidman. Jarrett gets the powerbomb as Kidman comes off the top with a missile dropkick. Kidman sent off the ropes and delivers a headscissor. DDT by Kidman before going up top with a splash for two.
Rey dropkicks Jarrett down into the corner, baseball slide to the groin by Kidman and a bronco buster by Rey. Rey is back dropped onto the top rope crotch first, and the ref gets taken out as Rey comes down. Jarrett counters a bulldog by Kidman with a back drop and nails Kidman with a guitar. Springboard into a sunset flip by Rey gets the win. (3:54)
Commercial
Hype video for Starrcade.
Sid's big idea is since Flair said he and Steiner can't fight in the arena, they'll fight in the parking lot surrounded by cars as a loophole.
WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Scott Steiner (c) (w/ Midajah) vs Sgt. A-Wall
Pre-Match: Steiner says Flair is a lucky man, and says he should get on his hands and knees and thank Arn for changing his mind. He says if Flair ever thinks of stripping him of the title or firing me, he'll go to Charlotte, to Flair's home, and kick his ass. He knows what Ric is doing, but reminds him what happened to Sting and Booker, and the same will happen. A-Wall comes out with a table.
Steiner gets the jump as A-Wall slides in, taking him to the corner for boots and rights and chops. A-Wall blocks a hip toss and gets Steiner with rights and chops of his own. Steiner sent off the ropes into a big boot, then some more rights. Steiner off the ropes again into a clothesline for two. Steiner sent to the corner, gets a boot up, hits a spinning belly to belly for two.
A-Wall sent off the ropes into a clothesline, then an elbow and some push-ups, before tossing A-Wall out to the floor. A-Wall sent into the guard rail, then a chair gets jabbed into his neck, then the back. Steiner tries to use his pipe but gets the chair to the ribs, then the back. Steiner dropped throat first on the guard rail before tossing him back in the ring. A-Wall slides the table back in but he's booted in the head by Steiner before they both slide in. A-Wall sent to the corner, gets an elbow up and hits a clothesline. Running powerslam by A-Wall gets a near fall.
A-Wall delivers the chokeslam, but doesn't go for the pin, setting the table up instead. A-Wall tries for another chokeslam but Steiner fights out, hitting a t-bone suplex through the table. Recliner gets the win to retain. (5:47) Surprisingly decent match here, even though A-Wall looked like a complete dumbass.
Steiner applies the Recliner again, this time with his pipe and A-Wall is already unconscious. Sid appears on the Nitro vision and calls him out to the parking lot, says Steiner is ducking him. So Steiner makes a quick exit to the parking lot. There's about a minute left in this show. Steiner breaks a few car windows, then a windshield as he misses Sid. Sid gets shots in and throws Steiner onto a hood to the ground. Sid tries a powerbomb off a hood but Steiner blocks it, knocking Sid onto the hood and gets more shots in. And that's how the show ends.
Thunder
On a side note, this show is only a little over an hour long, they cut out more than usual for this episode.
Show starts with Sanders in his office who welcomes us to his show and announces a few things. He's a man of his word, so he gives Sarge his match with Lex. Something else he should have taken care of on Nitro, Chavo, the man who beat him, will face Perfect Event. Chavo has to find himself a partner or he'll be stuck competing in a handicap match.
Flair, is watching this in his own office and admits those matches sound pretty good, but he's going to add his own touch to things. He wants Sanders to make sure Storm sings the American anthem, and since he couldn't keep Steiner and Sid from each other on Nitro, he says fuck it and let them go at it tonight if they want to. Plus, he says the only problem he has with Sanders is he abuses his power sometimes, particularly with the match he made for Chavo, so he makes Sanders vs DDP for tonight.
Still in Louisiana for the go-home Thunder, and in place of Stevie Ray, we have Konnan joining Schiavone and Tenay for commentary. Noble and Karagias are already in the ring for the opening match.
Jamie Noble & Evan Karagias vs 3 Count vs Jung Dragons (w/ Leia Meow)
Wasting no time going at it. Shannon sent off the ropes, ducks a double clothesline, Helms pulls Evan out as Noble sends Shannon off the ropes, only to be countered. 3 Count already hit their spinning neckbreaker/Samoan drop combo, but then the Jung Dragons come out. Pair of inverted atomic drops to 3 Count and spinning heel kicks from the Dragons. Evan with a springboard double clothesline to the Dragons, then sent off the ropes by Yang, ducks a clothesline and hits a neckbreaker.
Yang sent off the ropes, tagged out by Helms who ducks a clothesline and turns into a right. Noble tags in for double teaming in the corner, Helms sent across the ring, ducks a clothesline and Evan and Noble take each other out with clotheslines. Superkick by Helms gets two. Shannon tags in, sent off the ropes, avoids a slam but hit with a back suplex. Commentary also explain that the three-way ladder match at the PPV for the CW Title shot is also every man for themselves, because only one person will get the title shot. Because logic.
Helms tags in and knocks Evan off the apron, forcing Noble to tag in Kaz. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Helms, then a back drop on Shannon. Kaz rolls through on a sunset flip from Noble and kicks him in the side of the head. Kaz avoids a clothesline and connects with a spinning heel kick. Yang pulls out a ladder as Helms hits Kaz with the Vertebreake, then dives out onto Yang after he slides in the ladder. Nobl is hit in the ribs with a ladder into the corner, and Shannon runs up it with a dropkick. Stepup leg dorp by Shannon to Evan.
Shannon lays the ladder across the top rope in the corner only to be crotched by Noble on the buckle. Evan joins him on the ladder to hit a double superplex. Noble goes to cover, but Evan shoves him off to cover for the win. (4:57) Good opener.
Evan and Noble argue.

Steiner beats up Kwee-Wee as part of some ATV contest.
Ric is meeting with Team Canada, specifically Lance to reiterate that he has to sing the anthem tonight. Lance points out that he doesn't know the words and doesn't want to disgrace the country. Duggan volunteers to teach him the words. Ric leaves happy.
Chavo Guerrero Jr. (WCW Cruiserweight Champion) vs The Perfect Event (WCW World Tag Team Champions)
Stasiak starts the match for his team. Quick exchange to start, Chavo takes control with a headscissor and a dropkick. Chavo sent off the ropes but gets low bridged by Palumbo from the apron. Chavo tossed back in as Stasiak stomps away, then Palumbo tags in, goes up top with a shoulder block. MIA is seen watching in the locker room and Cajun tries to get up to help Chavo, but Rection shoves him back down. Stasiak with some cheap shots from the apron behind the ref's back, then Chavo avoids a stalling suplex. Standing blockbuster from Chavo and a cover but Stasiak makes the save.
Chavo sent to the corner, Palumbo whipped toward him but misses. Chavo with a dropkick to the back of Stasiak just to eat a side kick from Palumbo. Stasiak back in with rights and boots in the corner. Chavo sent off the ropes, through the legs, ducks a clothesline, rolls up on the shoulders, just to be planted with a sitout powerbomb for two. Chavo with a double leg takedown and mounted rights, then Stasiak rolls to deliver some rights of his own. Chavo sent to the corner and gets a boot up, goes up top with a crossbody, covers, Palumbo tries an elbow but gets Stasiak instead. Chavo rolls up Palumbo for two and Stasiak decks him with a clothesline.
Chavo sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, caught in Palumbo's arms near the corner, Stasiak dropkicks Chavo and he's supposed to go face first into the buckles but Palumbo is too far away. Stasiak covers but pulls Chavo up at two. Cajun tries to convince Rection to help Chavo because that's what being a team is about and Chavo is alone, but Rection has none of it, says he's alone because he chose to be, says he needs to learn a lesson, as does Cajun. Back in the ring, Chavo sent off the ropes into a double flapjack for the win. (5:59) I'm confused to why Chavo is the heel here, and more importantly why Rection is defending against Franchise in a nothing feud when he and Chavo still has issues.
Over to commentary who talk about the issues with Steiner and Sid, the latter of whom is contacted on his phone. He says he's not far from the arena and says not to let Steiner leave the building, he wants Steiner, he's about 15 minutes away

Team Canada comes out. Storm wants to be serious for a minute. He's here to because Canadians are men of their word, but wonders if Cat would do the same in this position. He says Americans have no integrity, so he calls for the anthem. Instead though, out comes Cat and Ms. Jones, with picnic basket and blanket in hand. They're here to have a picnic in the aisle to have a front row seat.
So Storm gets the first two lines completely off with the music playing before giving it the "blah blah blah" treatment. Cat gives him one more chance to sing it right, or Cat will kick his ass. On the second try he skips right to the "rocket's red glare" part, so Cat calls on Duggan to do it instead. Duggan is glad to do it for some reason. Cat throws food at him, and Storm suggests Cat fight Duggan. Cat says the American people want to see it so they have spoken.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan (w/ Team Canada) vs The Cat (w/ Ms. Jones)
Duggan hammers on Cat with rights in the corner, then Cat attacks from behind as Duggan turns his back. Duggan doesn't want to fight him and Storm clotheslines Cat from the apron. Cat attacks again and stomps him down in the corner, choking him a bit. Elix hangs Cat up on the top rope and pulls him to the floor. Duggan shoves Elix and Storm away from Cat, then Cat attacks Storm and Elix, then a shot for Duggan. Storm gets in again but Duggan shoves him away again.
Cat attacks as they return to the ring with rights, then Duggan sends him back to the floor. Duggan grabs the 2x4 and nails Cat in the ribs before sending him into the guard rail. He's about to hit him over the head with it but there's a fan with a "Hacksaw come home we <3 You" sign that makes him hesitate. Duggan nails Storm with the 2x4 before taking it back to the ring. Duggan tries to take off his Canadian jersey which allows Cat to hit a roundhouse for the win. (2:41)
Storm attacks Cat after removing and throwing the jersey at Duggan, then kills Cat with a superkick. Ms. Jones checks on Cat as Team Canada leave, ruining the picnic on the way. Cat helps Duggan back to his feet and gets a loud "ho" from the crowd.

Luger gets on his knees for the test since Sarge is short but he gets a boot to the chest instead, then a kick to the ribs and stomps. Luger dropped with a right and a clothesline. Luger face first in the corner, then more rights and forearms and boots, Luger choked with his boot. referee having to pull him off. Luger face first in the other corner and more clubs from Sarge, dropping Luger back down and out of the ring.
Sarge gets a handful of hair through the ropes, the ref has to pull him off. Luger conveniently grabs a bat from under the ring and nails Sarge in the head with it while the ref's back is turned. Rack gets Luger the win. (2:31)
Luger refuses to drop Sarge after the bell. Luger has his old music played for some reason. Vito clotheslined off the apron as Adams goes for a slam on Reno. Reno tries to counter with Roll the Dice but Clark hits a shoulder block to stop him. High Time gets the win. (9:15) Match went a little too long but it was pretty good. Kind of annoyed with the Jarrett appearance, Konnan was a nice addition to commentary, plus it could have waited until after the match, an unneeded interruption.
Kronik attack Reno post-match but Vito makes the save with his kendo stick. Clark gets it though and attack him and Reno with it. Reno tries to fight back, eventually security break it up.

Pre-Match: They didn't dub over Page's theme for this match. I forgot how awesome it was.
Page tells him to kiss his ass. They spit on each other then slap each other. Page ducks a clothesline and takes Sanders to the corner for rights and chops and elbows. Page sent to the corner, ducks a clothesline but Page connects on the second try. Another slap before Page clotheslines them both out to the floor. Sanders sent into the guard rail, then Page drinks a fan's beer just to spit it in Sander's face. Sanders face first off the announce table before getting sent into the guard rail again.
As they get back in the ring, Sid calls back in and he has no idea where he is. This despite the fact this is the exact same arena they were at for Nitro. Sanders hits a low blow and Page drops him face first on the turnbuckle in the corner. Sanders with some groin kicks and stomps to the chest. Sanders kned in the ribs and Page picks him up in a gutwrench, delivering something like a Styles Clash. Page delivers the Diamond Cutter, then the Thrillers run out for the DQ. (3:34)
Diamond Cutter on Jindrak, then O'Haire connects with a superkick. Page fights off a sleeper with a jawbreaker and he and Sean trade shots before Sean is driven into the corner. Page with elbows before he shoves Sean down. Palumbo now stomping away, setting Page up for the Seanton Bomb. Sanders is laid across Page as if to pin him but the match is over. Palumbo counts the pin anyways.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Scott Steiner (c) (w/ Midajah) vs Meng (w/ Paisley)
Pre-Match: Steiner gets a mic and says Flair's plans are going to waste, says his hired gun Sid is too afraid to show up, but if Sid has the guts to show up to Starrcade Steiner will kick his ass no questions asked, and take Sid straight to hell.
Meng gets the first shots in as he takes Steiner to the corner, then face first into the next one, pummeling him with rights and lefts and stomps, then chokes Steiner with his boot. Steiner face first in the corner again before Meng is sent off the ropes, double chop to the back of Steiner and a backbreaker for two. Meng off the ropes with an elbow drop and Steiner rolls out to the floor. Steiner takes his time returning to the ring.
Steiner with a knee and some rights, Meng avoids a slam and delivers a clothesline. Steiner sent off the ropes, clubs the back on a back drop attempt and delivers a neckbreaker. Meng sent off the ropes into a clothesline and an elbow, followed by some push-ups. Steiner with clubs to the back and kicks to the ribs, then sets Meng on the top rope. Steiner tries a belly to belly but Meng headbutts him to the mat, then a clothesline from the middle rope. Meng back to the middle rope with a splash for two.
Steiner with a jawbreaker, then misses a clothesline into a side kick. Meng with chops and rights in the corner, Steiner sent across the ring, gets a boot up, then delivers his spinning belly to belly for two. Meng tossed out to the floor. Steiner sent into the guard rail, then Midajah jumps on Meng's back only to be sent overhead to the floor. Steiner jumps him with a clothesline, then Paisley jumps on Midjah until Steiner pulls her off. Back in the ring, Meng sent to the corner, ducks a clothesline, applies the Tongan Deathgrip but Steiner breaks it with a boot to the groin. Steiner delivers the t-bone suplex, then applies the Recliner as Sid finally comes out to retain. (5:32) I thought that was a fun main event. Surprised Meng just casually lost by submission there.
Sid and Steiner start fighting immediately in the aisle, Sid takes control easily, completely battering Steiner. Sid takes it to the ring and Steiner sent off the ropes into a big boot. Sid connects with the chokeslam to close the show.
