Week of February 26, 2001

Nitro
Starting right in the backstage area, there's a car, a mess, and an ambulance by the garage doors of the arena, we're told by Schiavone that Kronik has been laid out on their way into the arena. Awesome, Storm and Totally Buff are talking to Dillinger trying to plead their innocence and he's having none of it. Flair arrives and sends them off, he argues with Dillinger.

Cut elsewhere to... crew behind some doors for some reason?

We're at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans for this edition of Nitro, welcomed briefly by Schiavone, and then it's to the back again, with the Seven meeting up with Steiner. Steiner asks where Page is and he lays out a few crew members for not knowing. Buff eventually has to pull him off. Page appears on the monitor to goad him, and Steiner smashes the monitor on the ground.
Steiner heads out to the arena and says he couldn't find Page in any of the trailer parks in town, and now he can't find him in the arena.. He says finding Page is like finding a needle in a haystack because all he sees is white trash. Page is hiding among the fans to make it clear he's not afraid, and is just playing games with Steiner's little mind. He says he talked to one of the "dead men" Steiner's been bragging about today and didn't sound dead, and will be here tonight. He wants Steiner as bad as he does.
Steiner doesn't care and will torture Page tonight. Page sees nothing but air between them and he promises to make Steiner's life a living hell, and says Steiner's going to Bangtown, and will feel the bang. Steiner goes into the crowd to try and get his hands on Page.

Later, Dustin will face Jarrett with Flair as the guest referee.

We're told Cat has a major announcement for tonight, while they reveal the brackets for the Cruiserweight Tag Title tournament, much to my confusion. No idea where Johnny Swinger and Jason Lee came from, or why Kwee-Wee and Sanders are teaming up.

Cruiserweight Tag-Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinals: Johnny Swinger & Jason Lee vs Filthy Animals
Pre-Match: Despite the graphic saying Konnan would be in this, it's Kidman teaming with Rey. Probably for the best. Johnny Swinger you may know from current day Impact Wrestling or earlier days WCW, making his return here. Jason spent most of his time in Ohio Valley Wrestling, and some time in NWA. Had a few matches on WWF Jacked in losing efforts against Kai En Tai, Crash and Lo Down, but has been retired since 2015.
Swinger and Lee get the jump on the Animals here, taking early control. Swinger is sent into Rey in the corner, then elevated to the apron and dropkicked by Kidman. Sitout Uranagi by Lee on Kidman  gets two. They'll start as the legal men, Kidman sent off the ropes, tags in Rey, double-underhook by Kidman sets up Rey for a dropkick on Lee. Lee gets the knees up on a springboard moonsault, sends Rey off the ropes, avoids a leapfrog but gets turned inside out by Swinger with a lariat.
Swinger tags in, double front suplex onto the top rope, then Rey sent to the corner chest first, into a cobra clutch leg sweep. Rey sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline into a waistlock, caught with a back eblow, then a sitout swinging neckbreaker, Kidman breaks up the pin. Rey sent to the corner, gets the boots up, runs to the opposite corner to float over but runs into a right, then off the ropes for a double down.
Kidman gets the hot tag and in comes Lee. Kidman with a back suplex, kip up, then elevated to the apron by Swinger. Slingshot headscissor by Kidman sends Swinger to the floor, then Lee sent to the corner, Rey launches off Kidman for a forearm. Kidman with a baseball slide to the groin and a Bronco Buster from Rey. Swinger  sent out to the floor and Rey dives out onto Lee and Swinger. Kidman up top with a shooting star onto both of them.
Back in the ring, Kidman sent off the ropes, tries to get the Kid Krusher on Swinger, but catches Lee with a sitout spinebuster as he tries to intervene. Rey headscissors Swinger back to the floor, then goes up top with the leg top to the groin of Lee. Kid Krusher on Lee gets the win.  (5:12) Good little match here. This would be Lee's only appearance for WCW.

Cat is seen walking backstage, his announcement next. Plus, Dustin vs Jarrett still to come with Flair as special referee.

Commercial

Cat makes his way out. We're reminded of Ms. Jones being laid out by Kanyon last week. Cat says he usually comes out to dance but he's here for one thing only, he hates Kanyon and what he did to Ms. Jones. Kanyon doens't want him but now it's too late, and knows it'll take everything to get to Kanyon. He says nothing will stop him, he'll break all the laws and rules to get to him. He knows that as commissioner, he was here to enforce the laws, to lay down the rules, but he's going to have to step down as commissioner so he can take care of business.
Out comes Flair and thinks Cat finally gets it, and did what Flair would have made him do anyways. He says he'll now have to go by Citizen Cat, he can't beat them, join them, he can only do what Flair tells him to do. He does give Cat his match with Kanyon at Greed. Cat tells him to get out of his face and promises to go through Flair's ass now if he doesn't. Flair says he could snap his fingers and the Seven will kill him, but Cat's got him mad.
Flair takes off his suit jacket ready to go seemingly, but he remembers he doesn't wrestle anymore, he's the boss, only to cheap shot Cat. Cat drops him with some rights, Flair sent off the ropes into a kick, then an uppercut, and a Flair flop. Side kick by Cat sends Ric out of the ring and security are here to try and separate them, Flair wants more. Flair calls him a dead man and puts him in a match with Rick Steiner for later, and says Rick will kill him. OK that segment kinda ruled, but Cat vs Steiner is gonna be so awful.

Konnan is backstage and says Flair and the Seven only managed to unite the locker room for a common front. He's gonna go to the locker room, lead by example, gather some soldiers into battle.

O'Haire and Palumbo come out. Sean gets a mic and calls out Team Canada to turn the ring into a murder scene. Team Canada are seen walking backstage.

Cut to Flair to tell Kanyon to get him with another Flatliner and end it.

Cut to footage from earlier in the day of Page talking to someone off-camera in the back. He reiterates some of what he said earlier, about Steiner's victims so far, and says none of them have been put out of business. He says Steiner's past will come back to haunt him and he's not putting Page down. He says what's eating Steiner most is he's the last man standing, and he won't take his legs out, because he's no mental giant.  He says he's going to break Steiner down mentally, which will break him physically.
