WWF Week of July 31, 2000

We're reminded of the issues between Steph and HHH that happened on Smackdown, with Trish and Trips being found in a... precarious position together, HHH ditching his tag match with her as a result.

Cut to the arena where a limo arrives and out steps HHH by himself.

We're in the Georgia Dome for this edition of Raw, welcomed as always by JR and the King before the first match.

Hardcore Match: Road Dogg & X-Pac vs Steve Blackman (WWF Hardcore Champion) & Al Snow
Pre-Match: As DX is doing their entrance, we see footage from earlier in the day, Blackman is in the locker room and insists he doesn't need a partner to beat DX, and further complains that Foley's put him with Al given their history. Al isn't listening because he's listening to music and Blackman just leaves him there. Al and Blackman attack from behind with a cookie sheet and a street sign to start the match.
Immediate double pin by Snow and Blackman gets a simultaneous two count. Al with the cookie sheet to both their headsd and Blackman is going under the ring already, tossing in a chain and a trash can. Double suplex attempt is stopped by X-Pac who throws powder in their faces. Road Dogg nails Snow in the head with the street sign, then Pac takes him to the corner for a series of kicks. Road Dogg with another sign shot to the head. Snow sent off the ropes with a chain clothesline, then Blackman returns with some trash lids, nailing DX in the head with them, a spinning shot to the back of Dogg's head. X-Pac sent off the ropes, popped up but connects with a dropkick.
Al nails them both with a trash lid only for Dogg to kick it up into his face, then another shot to the head. Al connects with a suplex on the floor, then a front suplex onto the barricade. X-Pac comes off the top with a right to Al on the floor. Al takes X-Pac back to the ring for some rights, then Dogg comes in  with nunchucks, Blackman takes them only to eat a spin kick from X-Pac, who drops Al with a lid shot on the floor. X-Pac slides in a bag of martial arts weapons while Blackman low blows Dogg, then nails both with a trash can. Dogg whipped into the corner as Al comes in with a bowling ball.
Al nails X-Pac right on the top of the head with the nunchucks, then low blows Roadie in the corner with the bowling ball. Blackman sets up a chair in the middle for Al to launch off of, but gets a can thrown in his face by X-Pac. X-Pac takes a kendo stick out of the bag, misses Blackman who takes out some sticks of his own, and X-Pac loses the stick. We get a sword fight of sorts, each getting a shot in until Blackman starts battering him with the sticks. Stick assisted back suplex by Blackman, cover and Roadie saves it.
Al tries to nail Roadie in the head with a lid, but Roadie ducks and he nails Blackman instead. X-Pac hits Blackman with the X-Factor onto the chair. Al is too busy attacking Roadie to break up the pin and DX win the match.  (6:14) Fun chaotic opener.

Steph arrives in a limo.

HHH makes his way out with a bouquet of roses in hand.  He knows that we know he's a man who makes few mistakes, almost never in fact, but when he did his pride always stood in the way of accepting and admitting them. He's here tonight in front of everyone to admit that he made a big mistake, and she'd like to direct it to Steph in the back. He knows what she walked in on looked pretty bad but was completely innocent, and there's never been anything between him and Trish, nor will there ever be. He says Steph is his true love, and he didn't take her feelings into consideration. He says Steph never gave him a chance to explain himself, he got angry, he said things he didn't mean. He says it's been the hardest few days of his life and he's here to apologize, and she knows it's hard for him more than anyone. He asks Steph to come out and accept the apology.
Steph makes her way out and seems less than enthused. She says he has no idea how much he's hurt her, asks how he'd feel if he saw her in the same position with some other guy, in front of Kurt Angle for example. She can't get that image out of her head and it makes her stick to her stomach. For the past few week, he's been so obsessed with Jericho that he ignored her and hasn't paid her any attention, but sure has to Trish. He knows how it looks, but insists there was nothing to it, and if there's one thing that's always held up it's trust, he's her husband and would never lie to her. He insists there's never been and never will be anything between him and Trish.
He admits he was a little obsessed with Jericho but reminds her it was in her defense, he called her the worst possible things on Earth, and he defended her, even if it did take all his attention. He says he loves her, she's the most important thing in his life. He says he's had the hell beaten out of him, had wars, nearly bled to death, endured more pain than any of the idiots watching have had in their life, and it's nothing compared to when he thinks of her leaving him, she may as well rip his heart out and stomp it. They finally kiss and make up.
Thank God Foley's here to end this, who by the looks of it has poured water on his head to mock them, pretend he's been bawling his eyes out watching this. He knows he should be embarrassed being out here in front of millions, but he can't stop crying, because what he just saw is the biggest load of horseshit he's ever seen. He firmly believes there's a place in the world for everything, except what we just saw, it was hideous. He doesn't want to sound coldhearted and understands their pain after what happened on Smackdown, and just in case we forgot, he puts a replay on the Titantron.
Even though he finds watching paint dry more interesting than the two of them, when HHH lets his marital problems get in the way of business, it's his business, referring to HHH walking out on his match, and depriving the world of seeing Jericho kick his ass. So he's going to fine HHH $5000 for it, which is nothing to him, but its a warning, and if he ever does it again, he's going to fire him. The upside is he's going to give HHH a chance to redeem himself, so he books a first-ever husband-wife tag match. He knows they're up for it because Steph is the Women's Champion and HHH is a former WWF Champion. He says we'll see if love conquers all, as they face Lita and, with Jericho away tonight, The Rock. Christ this did not need to take 20+ minutes just to make a main event.

Cut to footage from earlier in the day. The Godfather's hos are protesting outside the arena for what Steven Richards is up to, with their #SaveTheHos campaign.

Commercial

WWF Tag Team Championships: Edge & Christian (c) vs Hardy Boyz (w/ Lita)
Pre-Match: Christian gets himself a cheap pop, and though they could make tasteless jokes about John Rocker, they aren't going to do it, because it's the home of the Braves, winners of countless league pennants and the best team of the past 10 years. Despite all that he says the Braves are known for one thing above else. Being the Yankee's personal bitches, so for the benefit of those with flash photography, they present to us: The Bitchlanta Braves.
JR also gives us a few injury updates. Taker is out of the hospital nursing his knee, and Jericho's out indefinitely with internal injuries after Benoit's attack on Smackdown.
Christian and Jeff start the match, Christian takes control with a cheap shot until a quick exchange ensues, Jeff getting thrown out to the floor off a waistlock. Christian misses a baseball slide and Jeff dropkicks him through the ropes, followed by a crossbody. Back in the ring, Matt tags in, Christian sent off the ropes into back elbows, then an elbow and a senton for two.
Edge tags in, Matt sent to the corner, gets the boot up, to the middle rope only to be cut off. Edge gets shoved to the mat and Matt delivers a leg drop for two. Matt tries the Twist of Fate early, ducks a clothesline from Christian but gets decked by Edge and knocked to the floor. Christian drops him with a clothesline and delivers some boots before Edge tosses him back in for more boots. Christian back in, Matt sent off the ropes into a double flapjack for two.
Christian goads Jeff allowing some double teaming in the corner, then Matt sent off the ropes, ducks a double clothesline, but heads collide and Matt is sent to the floor. Christian sent into the apron then Matt handsprings off the apron for a DDT on the floor. Matt back in the ring, avoids a powerbomb and hits a Russian leg sweep. Jeff back in, off the ropes with a forearm and a dropkick, then a leg drop to the groin of Christian. Edge sent to the corner for Poetry in Motion, Jeff covers and Christian saves it.
Christian tossed out of the ring, Lita with a hurricanrana off the apron behind the ref's back. Matt with a Twist of Fate and Jeff off the top with a Swanton, makes the cover, and Christian pulls the ref out before decking him with a right. Matt is back dropped to the floor by Christian. Jeff takes him down to the mat and mounts with rights, Edge comes in the ring with a pair of chair, nailing Jeff in the back with one. Finally the ref calls for the DQ. (4:35)

Christian just barely misses a chair shot on Lita, then they nail a concerto on Jeff before leaving.

Shane, Benoit, Show and Angle are watching on backstage very pleased with what just happened. Shane says they had focus and intensity, much like they do. In comes Foley and he agrees as he makes a few matches for tonight: Show vs Kane, and Benoit & Angle vs Dudleyz.

Commercial

More footage from the #SaveTheHos protest earlier in the day.

HHH and Trish are talking backstage. He promises snot to let Lita do anything to her. There's a knock on the door md it's Trish, who's here to try and set the record straight, but Steph assures her everything's alright and she leaves happy. Steph calls her a plastic, conniving bitch, she saw a look in Trish's eyes that she had "certain intentions," nor does she like how he was looking at her.

Replay of what just happened at the end of the tag match. Jeff is being checked out by doctors backstage.

Coach is backstage with the tag champs, he says they used to be friends with the Hardys, but have now stooped so low as to take chairs to Jeff. Edge insists it was "totally chairlicious," and says Jeff's head is just a little flatter now. Matt attacks them both, spearing Christian into the interview set but the numbers quickly catch up on him until officials pull them aprt.

Commercial

Replay of Benoit's vicious attack on Smackdown taking out Jericho.

Kurt Angle (2000 King of the Ring) & Chris Benoit (w/ Shane McMahon) vs Dudley Boyz
Pre-Match: Poor Lillian announcing Kurt from Pittsburgh, Philadelphia.
Match starts with all four fighting, the Dudleyz taking control until Angle saves Benoit, double teaming D-Von in the corner. Angle goes to the apron as Benoit's sent off the ropes into a spinning back elbow. Bubba tags in, Benoit sent off the ropes into double shoulders and an elbow. Angle tags in and runs into a powerslam for two. Angle shoved to the corner for some chops before Bubba's sent off the ropes and avoids a back drop, then hits a powerbomb before knocking Benoit off the apron, allowing the Dudleyz to hit the What's Up.
Shane distracts the ref allowing Benoit to take out the Dudleyz, Angle takes back control in the corner with D-Von before delivering a snap suplex for two. Benoit back in with a scoop slam and an elbow. D-Von counters a back suplex midair to fall into a pin for two. D-Von tries to come off the ropes but eats an elbow before getting taken to the corner. More chops before sending him across the ring, gets a boot up and runs into the Crossface. Bubba breaks it up with a dropkick to the head only to be knocked out of the ring by Angle. D-Von connects with an inverted DDT.
Bubba gets the hot tag and in comes Angle. Clothesline by Bubba, then Angle sent off the ropes into a back drop and a DDT. Bubba Bomb on Benoit connects, then gets Angle on his shoulders, D-Von off the top with a clothesline, cover and Benoit breaks it up. Benoit knocked to the floor, Angle sent off the ropes and I think is supposed to counter a back drop midair with a rollup but it gets fucked up and he about lands on his head. I think D-Von and the ref were in the way. Bubba Cutter connects, then Shane comes off the top with an elbow. Kurt's rolled for the cover but Bubba kicks out.
D-Von goes after Benoit on the floor. Angle seems to be fine as he's sent to the corner and the ref gets squashed on a corner splash. Benoit back in with a pair of Germans, avoiding a third with some elbows. Benoit caught with a 3D but the ref is still down, so Bubba calls for the tables. D-Von pulls out a table just as Big Show runs out to mow him down. Chokeslam on Bubba back in the ring, Benoit's pulled on top as the ref stirs for the win. (7:20) They managed to recover after that botch at least. Match was fun.

HHH is still assuring Steph he won't let Lita get to her. Steph wants him to show her some stuff just in case it does happen. He shows her to counter a double-leg takedown with a facelock. Then she asks him to show her the move he was teaching Trish but he doesn't think its a good idea but eventually relents. He makes a comment that she's a lot taller when she goes to counter the hammerlock and of course she takes offense thinking he's comparing to Trish. He smooths it over and gets her to do it again but calls her Trish by accident so she takes her bag and belt and leaves.

Commercial

The Save the Hos campaign is making its way through the crowd.

Replay of what just happened.

HHH has followed her to the limo to try and talk to her and she says to hell with the match, Foley and him before leaving.

Right to Censor are here now to "save the hos" chants. Goodfather pleads with them, says they're trying to do what's best for the people, and if they give Steven a chance, they might make sense of it, like he did. Steven takes the mic and wants to talk about rights. He says they have the right to bare arms, free speech, and religious freedom. He says their country fought for those rights, just as they'll fight the good fight for what they believe in, and that's the right to censorship.
The hos hop the barricade and Steven calls on security to take them out. I think a fan hops in the ring as security is dealing with that. Steven says their filth is why RTC is here, and if WWE won't clean up it's act, then they will. He says scantily clad women, gratuitous violence, vulgarity and other lewd behavior will be prohibited in their eyes, and they'll do everything in their power to stop it, because it's for our own good. If anyone has a problem with it, they're welcome to enter the ring.
APA come out. Bradshaw calls them self-righteous hypocrites to bring up more rights Steven forgot, like the right to drink a lot of beer, to consort with wild, half-naked women, and to kick their censoring asses.

APA vs Right to Censor (w/ Steven Richards)
Bradshaw sent off the ropes by Goodfather only for both to tumble to the floor. Bull sent to the corner only to leap off the middle rope with a back elbow on Farooq, while Bradshaw sends Goodfather into the steps. Bradshaw comes back in, APA send Bull off the ropes into a double spinebuster. Farooq off the middle rope misses a shoulder block and Goodfather tags in. Farooq sent off the ropes into a double suplex. Bradshaw with a Clothesline from Hell on Goodfather, then Bull sent off the ropes into a big boot. Farooq booted by Bull in the corner, who goes up top, while Goodfather and Steven attack Bradshaw on the floor. Bull off the top caught midair with a powerslam from Farooq for the win. (1:28)

Goodfather attacks immediately. Bull with a DDT on Bradshaw.

Cole's at the Republican National Convention and there's a video package directed at the presidential candidates.

Rikishi vs Tazz
Pre-Match: We're reminded Tazz cost Rikishi the IC Title and the rematch at Fully Loaded, leading to this match. Rikishi has his ribs taped after that splash off the cage.
Rikishi meets Tazz in the aisle with rights, then sends him into and over the steps. Tazz face first off the steps before taking it to the ring. Tazz sent to the corner for a clothesline, setting Tazz up for a Stinkface, but he counters with a low blow out of the ref's view. Tazz with a clothesline then hammers on the ribs with rights and knees, then chokes him against the ropes. Rikishi starts fighting back until he gets a thumb to the eye, then Tazz tries a sunset flip only to be sat on. Belly to belly by Rikishi sends Tazz back to the corner for another splash, setting up once more for the Stinkface, successful on the second try. Rikishi is arguing with the ref for some reason allowing Tazz to expose the turnbuckle, sending Rikishi face first into it. Northern lights suplex connects but it's only two. Tazz gets the Tazzmission applied but Rikishi counters with a Samoan drop for the win. (3:34)

Too Cool come out to get in on the celebration.

HHH meets with Foley to try and get out of his tag match and sweet talking Foley, but it doesn't work. HHH tries to get a handicap match instead, but Foley gives him Trish as a partner instead.

More of Cole at the RNC. Skip.

Eddie Guerrero & Chyna vs Perry Saturn (WWF European Champion) & Val Venis (WWF Intercontinental Champion) (w/ Terri)
Pre-Match: Chyna had challenged for the IC Title on Heat but was screwed by Saturn, who gets sent packing anyways. Val's ribs are also taped from Rikishi's splash.
Eddie and Val will start the match. Exchange of rights until Eddie gets in some rib shots, then counters a back drop with a hurricanrana. Saturn runs in to knock down Eddie to give Val control, who hits a Blue Thunder Bomb for two. Eddie sent to the corner, hits an elbow, then off the middle rope with a tornado DDT. Chyna and Saturn tag in, Chyna with forearms and some clotheslines. Saturn sent off the ropes into a flapjack, then off the ropes again into a powerslam. Forearms to Val, then Saturn sends her into Val for a clothesline.
Saturn tags in with a shot to the ribs, then a backbreaker. Eddie tries to save providing a ref distraction, a double backbreaker on Chyna gets two. Chyna sent off the ropes, avoids a backdrop, tries to come off the ropes but she's caught by Val. Saturn knocks him off the ropes by accident allowing Chyna to hit a sleeper slam. Eddie back in with clotheslines and rights, then a dropkick knocks Val back off the apron. Northern Lights on Saturn and Val breaks the pin.Val with rights on Chyna only to be clotheslined to the floor, then Eddie tilt-a-whirls Saturn into a hurricanrana for the win. (3:33)

More from the RNC with Cole and now Linda McMahon, more skip.

Cut to WWF New York briefly to see Malenko enjoying some drinks with a couple ladies.

HHH is getting ready and gets a knock on the door, not from Steph to his chagrin. Trish comes in before their match just to immediately be kicked out.

Show and Shane are walking backstage.

Commercial

We're supposed to get a match between Big Show and Kane, but Show attacks Kane during his entrance but Kane fights back immediately with rights, sending Show into the steps. Shane jumps Kane only to be shoved down and tossed into the ring. Kane goes to chokeslam Shane but now Angle and Benoit are out here, only to be knocked right down. Chokeslam on Benoit, then Show attacks. They exchange rights until Angle joins in and the numbers catch up to him. Shane joins back in too and here are the Dudleyz with chairs to even it up. Officials run out to try and restore order.

HHH and Trish are walking backstage, HHH trying to stay as far away from her as possible. Rock and Lita are also walking backstage.

Commercial

Triple H & Trish Stratus vs The Rock (WWF Champion) & Lita
Rock and Trips start the match, Rock corners him with rights until Trips comes back with some of his own. Rock sent off the ropes and hits a neckbreaker. More rights knocks Trips to the floor and I guess he tags Trish in as he rolls out? And I guess it's intergender rules, but Lita tags in anyways with a takedown, mounting with rights, then slams Trish's head off the mat. Lita with a snap suplex, then off the ropes with a clothesline. Lita tries to come off the ropes but Trips gets her by the hair, until Rock knocks her down. It distracts the ref though allowing Trips to nail Lita with a clothesline.
Trish with a running bulldog out of the corner then Trips tags in. Rock is knocked off the apron and Trips tries a Pedigree, but Rock makes the immediate save. Lita tries to save out but Trips pulls her away to tag in Trish. Lita sent off the ropes but she connects with a flying clothesline. Rock gets the hot tag and in comes Trips. Clotheslines by Rock, then a DDT gets two.
Trips ducks a clothesline to hit a neckbreaker, then takes Rock to the corner for stomps until the ref has to pull him off. Rock comes back with rights, sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline but runs into a high knee for two. Rock back to the corner for rights, starts to fight back with some of his own, sends Trips off the ropes but he connects with a facebuster. Trips off the ropes runs into a spinebuster to set up for the People's Elbow but Trish rakes the eyes and slaps him. Rock counters the Pedigree to catapult him into Trish in the corner.
Rock knocks Trips out to the floor and hits Trish with a spinebuster, then tags in Lita. Trips pulls Rock out to send him off the steps, Lita off the top hits the moonsault for the win. (6:07) Good main event.

Rock grabs a chair and nails Trips in the back with it, dropping him onto Trish in a rather precarious position.

Recap of the HHH/Steph/Trish drama from Raw.

HHH is waiting in the parking lot presumably for Steph. Trish comes up to apologize for how their match ended on Raw and says she was embarrassed, hopes things work out with him and Steph. He says it's all her fault he hasn't talked to Steph for three days, and she can do him a big favor by getting away from him.

Broadcasting from the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center in Alabama for this edition of Smackdown, welcomed by Cole and Lawler. Foley has set up Rock and Kane vs Show and Benoit for tonight.

Scotty 2 Hotty (w/ Grandmaster Sexay) vs X-Pac (w/ Road Dogg)
Quick exchange to begin the match that ends with a standoff following a hip toss from X-Pac. Another exchange follows until Scotty drops him with a superkick, sending X-Pac to the floor. Scotty misses a baseball slide and gets clotheslined in the back of the head. Back in the ring, suplex and floatover from X-Pac gets two, into a rear chinlock. Scotty fights his way out but gets hit with a back suplex for two.
Scotty face first in the corner, but Scotty uh... Scotts up? Rights by Scotty, then sent off the ropes, avoids a clothesline, hits a forearm for two. X-Pac sent to the corner and Scotty goes shoulder first into the ringpost. X-Pac tries the Bronco Buster but misses, allowing Scotty to come off the ropes with the bulldog, setting up for The Worm, covers but X-Pac gets his foot on the rope. Scotty with mounted rights in the corner, but while the ref is trying to pull him off, X-Pac hits a low blow and the X-Factor for the win. (4:13) Good opener.

HHH is still waiting for Steph as a limo arrives. Steph exits and says they don't need to talk about what happened, as she's sure it'll work out and everything will be alright. She asks for some space though and doesn't let him get a word in as she walks off. He tries following but it just pisses her off. They part ways and she bumps into Kurt to offer an ear to talk to if she ever needs it. He also directs her to Trish's locker room.

Commercial

More of the Save the Hos campaign. Also I only just realized their picket signs read "Save the Ho's" which isn't grammatically correct.

Shane, Show and Benoit come out. Shane says the balance of power has shifted in their favor, and that's why he's aligned with some of the greatest talent in the WWF. He names them off and says there's nothing they can't accomplish collectively, and that's why every target they chose laid obliterated in their wake of destruction. He says it doesn't matter how big, tall, small or who you are, if they choose them, they will obliterate and take them out just like that.
The first target on their list is someone Big Show knows well. Show says Taker must rue the day he turned his back on Show and left him high and dry, says he's getting a taste of the nastiest man first hand. He says while he was at home getting his knee put back together, watching TV, he heard about Taker being back and better than ever, dangerous, ferocious, the American Badass. But to contradict that, Show shows us clips of them obliterating Taker two weeks ago. He wants Taker to think while he's sat at home and calls him the American Dumbass.
Benoit takes the mic to talk about their friend Jericho, speaking of dumbasses. He boasts about obliterating Jericho after running his mouth, showing clips of that as well. Shane takes the mic again and moves on their latest target from Monday, specifically Jeff Hardy who ate a Conchairto, and he calls it textbook. Shane finishes talking about Kane and Rock, calling them their targets of destruction.

T&A are with Val Venis in the locker room and in storms Steph. She calls Trish a conniving, manipulative bitch and threatens to take her apart if she gets near her husband again. She mocks her before leaving. Test thanks god that he didn't marry her.

Commercial

HHH is eating in his private locker room and in walks Steph, who assures him they won't have to worry about Trish anymore, but won't elaborate when he asks for details. He insists on talking but she doesn't want to, but they're interrupted by someone, who informs them Foley wants to talk.

Eddie Guerrero & Rikishi (w/ Chyna) vs Val Venis (WWF Intercontinental Champion) & Tazz (w/ Trish Stratus)
Eddie and Val start this one, Val takes control with a gorilla press slam after some rights. Val sent to the corner, duks a clothesline, then sent off the ropes, only to take Val out to the floor. Exchange of rights until Rikishi nails Val, then both send him into a clothesline from Chyna. Back in the ring, Rikishi tags in, Tazz comes in to eat some rights and a headbutt, then he and Val take a double clothesline. Val sent to the corner, then Tazz sent into Val for Kish to slam his ass into. Samoan Drop on Tazz and a superkick on Val, Eddie with the frog splash off the top for the win. (2:04)

Trips and Steph walk into Foley's office, which seems to be in a caged off storage area tonight. Foley fines Steph for walking out on Raw, and threatens to strip her of the Women's Title if she does it again, and she has to set an example as champion. Kurt walks in next and Trips is immediately defensive and splits him and Steph apart. Kurt says they're just friends but Foley says he knows its more than that. He clarifies that they're tag partners, along with Trips tonight against Lita and the Dudleyz in a No DQ Match.

The WWF Whack of the Night is the Conchairto to Jeff on Raw.

Matt is trying to talk Jeff out of going to the ring tonight.

Edge (w/ Christian) (WWF Tag Team Champions) vs Matt Hardy
Matt immediately spears Edge before mounting with rights, then they exchange blows. Christian gets knocked off the apron, then Edge back dropped to the floor, and Matt with a crossbody from the top takes them both out. Back in the ring, Matt covers for two. Scoop slam by Matt who goes to the middle rope with a leg drop for two. Matt sent off the ropes, tripped by Christian and pulled to the floor. Matt decks him but Edge delivers a baseball slide, allowing Christian to attack behind the ref's back.
Matt driven into the barricade twice before taking it back to the ring. Edge with shots in the corner drives Matt down. Matt tries to fight back only to be set on the top rope. Matt drops Edge with an elbow and hits a moonsault for two. Rollup by Matt gets two after Christian slides in a chair. Matt sent off the ropes, nailed by Christian, flapjack by Edge gets two. Edge goes up top only to be cut off and Matt hits a superplex.
Jeff runs out with a ladder and hits Christian, then sets it up next to the ring. Jeff climbs it for some reason, Matt goes to hit a Twist of Fate on Edge until he sees Jeff. Jeff gets dizzy, falls off and drops ribs first on the ropes. Referee calls for help while Edge nails Matt in the head with a chair for the DQ. (4:37) What the hell was Jeff's plan here? Like is the story just that his concussion made him do something stupid? I don't get it.

Referees and a doctor finally run out to check on the Hardyz. Lita's here too.

Kevin Kelly's with Rock backstage. Rock makes it clear he hasn't forgotten what him and Benoit have been through, but says Benoit is nothing special. He says anyone can be Benoit, like the jabroni holding the camera, some woman off-screen, even Kevin Kelly, which the crowd seems to like the idea of. Rock proceeds to black out some of Kelly's teeth to prove his point. Rock proceeds to continue his promo as if Kelly was Benoit, tells him to stick his tongue through the gap in his teeth, and lick a wolverine's ass.
Kelly runs off as Rock moves onto Big Show, who came back wanting everyone's attention, including his own, but not by taking out Taker, or aligning with Shane, but instead by giving him cart blanche to mock his hand gesture thing he does for a chokeslam. He tells Shane to bring his Shows, his Benoits, so he and Kane can kick their candy asses all over Smackdown.

Commercial

Replay of Show putting Kane through a table on last week's Smackdown.

The Right to Censor enter the APA's office and proceed to clean the place up, and stamps their symbol on the door and table.

Blackman immediately eats a superkick on the floor to start the match. Saturn eats one just before Terri sprays Blackman with a fire extinguisher. Saturn follows with a clothesline before tossing him in the ring. Saturn pulls out a trash can and a pair of lids, only to have the can kicked back into him. Terri nails Blackman in the head with a lid that he no-sells, Saturn comes off the top with a splash to the floor for two. Fighting up the ramp now, Saturn picks him up for a suplex only to turn it into a powerslam for two. Too Cool try to get some payback but they're easily beaten down by DX until Rikishi comes out for the save. All three slam X-Pac in the corner setting him up for a Stinkface but Road Dogg pulls him out of the ring for the save.

Commercial for Summerslam.

Another political video, another skip.

Angle wants to go over the plan for tonight and lays out a match equation: H(cubed)+ I(cubed) > D(cubed). He explains that H(cubed) is Trips' three Hs, I(cubed) is his own three Is, and they can easily overcome the 3Ds of the Dudleyz. Trips calls him and idiot and Angle offers to go slower, but Trips would rather he go to hell and leave. Angle leaves.

Trips makes the save before anything can happen and Angle joins in. Dudleyz, Trips and Angle fight on the floor as Lita takes Steph to the mat, mounting with rights. Steph thrown across the mat by the hair as Bubba is sent into the steps, Lita with a suplex on Steph.
Lita goes up top buut Trips pulls Steph out of the way of a moonsault, before hitting a Pedigree on Lita. Steph is pulled on top while D-Von pulls Trips out, the ref is still occupied with them. Bubba sets his sights back on Steph, getting her by the hair as D-Von and Trips fight up the ramp. Angle saves her from a powerbomb with a low blow before tossing Bubba out of the ring. Steph crawls back on top to get the pin anyways. (9:36) Fun chaos. If not a bit overbooked.

Angle and Steph embrace and celebrate in the ring as Trips looks on from the stage visibly pissed to end the show.
