Week of August 14, 2000

Live from the Providence Civic Centre in Rhode Island for this episode of Raw, 13 days away from Summerslam. We're welcomed to the show by JR before we go into a video package, recapping what happened in the main event of last week's Smackdown. Triple H walked out on his partner Angle leaving Rock and Taker to beat him. HHH came to Steph's aid after nearly being laid out by Taker only to eat a chokeslam and a People's Elbow in the aftermath.

Angle makes his way out following that. As a representative of all fifty states its his pleasure to be in Rhode Island. He says that although America sees them as an insignificant, nothing state, he doesn't. He says though that what Trips did to him was nothing but insignificant, calling it gutless, cowardly and just plain wrong.  It reminds him of someone he had the displeasure of meeting during his Olympic days, that being Tanya Harding. He says that while Trips might be a world-class athlete, like Tanya, he doesn't possess an iota of integrity, saying what he did was the equivalent of what she did.
Like Nancy Kerrigan, he asked himself "Why me?" and wonders what he doesn't like. He hasn't liked Kurt since he debuted, he tried to sabotage his undefeated streak, and when Trips was WWF Champion, he didn't give him a single title shot. He's figured out that it comes down to pure, unbridled jealousy. He says that in nine months he's accomplished things that took Trips years, he's won titles, tournaments, and the accolades go on. In Trips' first nine months, he was doing Hog Pen Matches. He says Trips is a bitter, jealous man and it pains him to see his friend Steph, as gentle a soul, of a person that you could see, is saddled with a loser like Trips.
Trips makes his way out tearing his shirt off and Shane runs in immediately to keep them separated. Shane says they're killing Steph, while Kurt has the biggest smirk on his face. Shane points out she was almost chokeslammed because of their bickering, and got Rock Bottomed anyways. Shane has no idea if she'll even show up. He says Trips was wrong for leaving Kurt by himself, but it was also wrong of Kurt to call Trips a loser. Shane insists Kurt would never do anything to ruin their marriage, and that Steph would never marry a loser. He says they need to refocus on Rock and the WWF Title at Summerslam.
Commissioner Foley's here now. He admits he's touched by Shane and compares it to Michael and Hope Steadman's marital issues, putting them aside to help Elliot because of Nancy's ovarian cancer... I have no idea what he's on about. He agrees with Shane that Kurt and Trips should join forces to take on Rock, so he's going to grant their wish as Commissioner. He makes Kurt and Trips vs the Dudleyz and the Rock. Shane points out that's not fair, so to keep them together he makes Shane their partner. To ensure he doesn't have to listen to another boring whine fest, he stipulates that if Kurt or Trips walk out they automatically lose their #1 contender slot for Summerslam.

Benoit arrives. He tries to get in the locker room only to be attacked by Jericho coming out, eventually broken up by officials.

Commercial

Replay of Jericho's attack.

Shane is catching up with Benoit in the hallway trying to calm him down. Shane tells him to focus on Undertaker tonight.

Kaientai enters the APA office. They apologize about a check and ask them not to beat them up. Funaki says they want to make it up, offering some cash and beer. They want to APA out for a night on the town. APA take them up on the offer and everyone leaves. JR fills in the fact that this is all something that happened on Heat.

Eddie Guerrero & Steve Blackman (WWF Hardcore Champion) (w/ Chyna) vs T&A (w/ Trish Stratus)
Test and Blackman start, Test gets control with a cheap shot, eats an elbow and a side kick followed by a clothesline out of the corner. Blackman pulls out his bag of weapons, pulled to the apron, but hangs Test up by the neck. Eddie tags in with a slingshot senton, then sent off the ropes, kneed by Albert, into a side slam by Test. Albert tags in, Eddie sent to the corner, Albert whipped into him for a splash then into Test for a big boot. Pair of backbreakers followed by a sitout press slam gets two for Albert.
Eddie sent off the ropes, popped up and lands a dropkick, then one to the knees. Blackman and Test back in, side kicks by Blackman, then a dropkick and a spin kick. Eddie with a missile dropkick sends Albert to the floor, then a pump kick to Test. Blackman covers while the ref is distracted by Trish and Chyna, Albert nails Blackman in the back with a kendo stick, Test covers for the win. (2:35)

Kurt is outside waiting as Steph arrives. Trips sees this in his locker room as Kurt grabs her bags. Kurt thanks her for coming to his aid on Smackdown, while emphasizing he's a "true friend." He also kisses her cheek which makes Trips walk out.

Hype video for the WWF Title match at Summerslam.

Commercial

Replay of what just happened.

Steph is walking backstage and bumps into Trips who gets jealous once again. Steph thinks she should leave and he agrees.

RTC come out. Replay of Victoria being put through a table last week and threatening to sue while in hospital. Steven says that they aren't the only ones warning the fans, ones that care about their children like they do, groups that know what's best for the children even if they don't. He says if WWF and Hollywood don't clean up their act, the RTC sure will. He says laws will be passed and will curtail the sexuality and violence that run rampant, but until then, they will do their part to win the good fight. This is why they've challenged the Hardys and Lita, three people who they worry the youth will emulate.

Right to Censor (w/ Steven Richards) vs The Hardy Boyz & Lita
Fight breaks out between all four to start. Goodfather and Jeff start, Jeff whipped off the ropes, tripped by Steven, who eats a dropkick through the ropes. Jeff lures Goodfather around and in, Matt tags in, Goodfather sent off the roeps into a double clothesline and a double team for one. Matt sent off the ropes right into a clothesline and in comes Bull, right into a drop toe hold. Jeff back in, off the ropes, misses a clothesline, picked up for a back suplex only to be dropped to the floor. Goodfather drops Jeff face first off the apron. Back in the ring, Bull with rights and lefts in the corner before stomping Jeff down, then Goodfather tags back in.
Jeff sent off the ropes into double big boots. Jeff gets stomped down trying to mount a comeback. Back suplex by Goodfather gets two. Bull back in, Jeff sent off the ropes into a gorilla press. Jeff sent to the corner for a clothesline, then across to avoid a second. Goodfather back in and Matt gets the hot tag, sent off the ropes and hits a clothesline. Goodfather face first into the mat, then into the corner for Poetry in Motion. Bull elevated to the floor, and Jeff dives out onto him. Matt sent off the ropes, counters a double back drop into a double DDT.
Lita tags in, goes up top, hits a moonsault on a standing Goodfather. Lita back up top hits a crossbody on Bull on the floor, only to eat a superkick from Steven behind the ref's back. Goodfather with a shoulder breaker back in the ring gets the win. (5:01) Decent match. Confused to why this was a handicap match but whatever I guess.

E&C run in and nearly get Lita with a conchairto only to be saved by Matt last second. He gets stomped down for his troubles, then eats an Unprettier onto a chair.

We catch back up with APA  and Kaientai, they're drinking at The Friendly Tap, the bar owned by Tim White. Taka wants sake, but Bradshaw insists on beers.

Steph is leaving. Shane tries to talk her out of it but she's having none of it.

Commercial

Recap of the tag match.

Speaking of, Edge and Christian come out with chairs in hand. Edge says that due to the unfair treatment from the Hardys, Dudleys, and Foley, they're here to stage a sit-down strike. Edge plays some footage to prove his point: Hardys and Dudleys laying them out on Smackdown, and Foley does nothing much like the people of Providence. He sat back, ate cotton candy and scratched himself while they were handed a bucket full of "heinosity." Christian says they took matters into their own hands on poor Matt, and they're not moving until they're served with a big bowl of justice soup, and when Foley assures them that they've received unfair treatment, and will end. He says if not, there will be extreme "rammi-percussions."
Foley comes out wearing a Dudleys shirt. He's taken back because he thought the three had a relationship, and now they're hurting him with hateful words. After watching their heinous acts against Matt, Jeff, the Dudleys, Kane, Malenko, and tried to do to Lita, he says the two of them are lacking in testicular fortitude. He does admit they're right, that while the acts of "heineosity" were going on, he actually was eating cotton candy and scratching himself. He goes a long way of announcing the first-ever TLC Match (oh my!) for Summerslam.

Trips is stewing and Shane walks in complaining about Foley's announcement just now. Trips doesn't care about it, he only cares about their 6-man tag. He told everyone he'd try this truce but he can't anymore. He blames Kurt for Steph leaving crying and promises to finish this. Shane insists everything will be fine.

Taker is riding his bike backstage.

Commercial

Shane is walking backstage with Benoit and E&C. E&C leave.

The Undertaker vs Chris Benoit (w/ Shane McMahon)
Taker immediately attacks with rights, then takes Benoit to the corner for more rights and elbows. Benoit sent across the ring, gets the boots up, then sends Taker to the corner for boots. Taker reverses things for rights and lefts, then Benoit sent across the ring for a clothesline, followed by a sidewalk slam. Taker off the ropes misses an elbow, then sent off the ropes, misses a big boot and dropkicks the knee. Benoit with boots to the head and face, followed by an enziguri. Benoit up top hits the flying headbutt but only gets two.
Benoit sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, caught by the throat, avoids a chokeslam and comes off the ropes into a big boot. Benoit sent off the ropes into a back drop, then a clothesline. Taker calls for the Last Ride, only to be nailed with a chair by Shane for the DQ. (3:56) Good for how short it was.

Chair to the head of Taker by Shane, and Benoit puts on the Crossface while Shane gets his kicks in. Kane makes his return for the save, scaring off Benoit and Shane, only to chokeslam Taker twice, the second one sending him through the ring, before driving out on Taker's bike.

Commercial

More political bullshit.

Replay of what just happened.

Taker is recovering backstage and swears to kick Kane's ass.

Shane talks with Kurt and makes the same accusations Trips has been making. Kurt leaves to be alone.

Back to APA and Kaientai. Kaientai are making too much noise and some patrons want to kick their ass, but APA stick up for them. Bradshaw suggest Take buy them some drinks.

Ring crew is repairing the ring and we get more replays of Kane's attack.

Commercial

During the commercial, King was called to the back by Foley so that he isn't around for the next match. JR also mentions that King vs Tazz was made for Summerslam on Heat.

Tazz vs Crash
Pre-Match: Tazz spends time mocking JR's bell's palsey.
Crash bounces Tazz's face off the announce table before taking it to the ring, running right into a clothesline. Tazz sent off the ropes into a forearm, then Crash off the top with a missile dropkick for two. Crash sent to the corner, tries to float over but caught with an Alabama Slam before getting choked. Crash sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, misses one and walks into the Tazzmission for the win. (1:11)

Tazz goes back to taunt JR and steal his hat before shoving him on his ass. Lawler runs out for the save before referees break it up.

Angle is venting to himself when Just Joe walks in. He says there's a rumor that someone wants to meet Kurt in the parking lot in a half hour. He insists it's not Trips or Shane, but has no idea who.

Commercial

Road Dogg & X-Pac vs Rikishi
Tornado rules for this one. Kish is corned to start the match with rights, only to shove them away and deliver rights of their own. X-Pac sent off the ropes, tries a sunset flip, Kish blocks and prepares to drop his ass only to be nailed from behind by Road Dogg. Clotheslines in the corner set Kish up for the Bronco Buster, then Road Dogg tries to deck him but nails X-Pac instead. Kish mounts a comeback on X-Pac only to be clubbed by Road Dogg and dropped with a double clothesline.
Double nerve pinch on Kish. Kish fights out with a double noggin knocker and a double clothesline. Samoan drop on Road Dogg and a clothesline to X-Pac, who's whipped into Road Dogg in the corner for a hip attack, then a superkick to X-Pac. Road Dogg drops into position for a stinkface and X-Pac looks on and laughs gleefully. Right drops Road Dogg and X-Pac hits a spinning heel kick, both stacking on top of Kish for the win. (3:42)

DX continue the beatdown afterwards until Too Cool make the save and we get some dancing.

More political bullshit.

Just Joe is here to stir shit up with HHH now. He says someone wants to meet Trips in the parking lot in 10 min, but can't say who. Trips nearly decks him but thinks its Steph playing cute games with him.

Commercial

Angle is pacing in the parking lot.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Chris Jericho vs Val Venis (c) (w/ Trish Stratus)
Quick exchange to start the match, Jericho taking control with a flying forearm, then some chops in the corner after avoiding a clothesline. Jericho sent across the ring, nails an elbow but runs into a sleeper. Venis sent off the ropes into a sleeper of his own but countered into a Blue Thunder Bomb. Jericho taken to the corner for chops before he's whipped hard across the ring, followed by a suplex for two. Camel clutch applied by Venis, breaking it prematurely with a hip drop, then caught with an enziguri as Jericho is sent off the ropes.
Jericho mounting a comeback, then sent off the ropes, nails a kick and gets elevated to the apron. Jericho off the top rope with a back elbow gets two. Val sent to the corner and gets Jericho with a drop toe hold, then a clothesline. Jericho avoids a back drop and nails a bulldog, followed by the lionsault. Benoit runs in before he can make the corer for the DQ. (3:59)

Clothesline by Jericho, who tries for the Walls but Val makes the save before taking his leave. Benoit crotches Jericho on the top rope before proceeding to stomp the crap out of him. Refs try to break it up but he just shoves them away before eventually leaving. Benoit gets pissed again hearing Jericho announced as the winner and traps Jericho in an STF.

Angle and Trips meet in the parking lot accusing each other of wanting a fight. They nearly get run over by a limo.

Commercial

Commercial for Summerslam.

Replay of what happened before the commercial.

Back out to the limo, and Trips and Kurt apparently went in during the break, we have no idea who else is in there.

Back to the Friendly Tap, APA are playing pool with Taka and Funaki is passed out drunk. Taka smacks Bradshaw in the back of the head, then one to the chest of Farooq. They suggest Kaientai leave but as Taka helps Funaki up he throws up on Bradshaw. Taka is lifted and thrown through the light above the pool table and Farooq nails Funaki in the head with a pitcher before throwing him into the jukebox. Bradshaw smashes a glass over Taka's head before dumping the pinball machine on him. Bradshaw orders some sake.

Al Snow's at WWF New York, interviewing some fans asking who their favorite wrestler is. He's hoping someone will say his name I assume and finally finds a guy, though sounds like Al paid him to say it.

Replay of Kane's attack on Taker earlier in the night.

Trips and Angle leave the limo, as does a returning Vince. He says he doesn't care who becomes champion, but makes it clear they'll never traumatize Stephanie again, talks about how she called him crying. He says neither of them will want to be in the WWF if it happens again. He tells them to look out for Shane in their match tonight before leaving.

Dudleyz are walking backstage. Rock is walking elsewhere backstage.

Commercial

Kurt Angle, Triple H & Shane McMahon vs Dudley Boyz & The Rock (WWF Champion)
Trips and D-Von start the match, trading blows until Trips is sent to the corner into a spinning back elbow. Bubba tags in, Trips sent off the ropes into a back drop and a clothesline for two. Neckbreaker by Trips after ducking a clothesline and in tags Shane with a flying clothesline. Bubba counters an Irish whip into a Bubba Bomb, then in tags Rock, then Shane immediately dives to his corner for a double tag. Trips and Angle argue over who got the tag. Rock tells them both to bring it, but Trips leaves Angle to fend for himself. Angle sent to the corner and rebounds into a clothesline. Angle caught with a Russian leg sweep for two.
D-Von tags in with rights, then one for Trips drops him from the apron, only to low bridge D-Von as Angle sends him off the ropes. D-Von sent into the steps, then back in the ring for a suplex for two. Trips tags in, D-Von taken and stomped into the corner, then sent off the ropes into a clothesline. Shane back in, with some lefts, then misses one and eats a flying forearm for a double down.

Angle attacks from behind but caught with a belly to belly, covers and Trips saves it. Bubba with a scoop slam on Trips, but accidentally nails the ref mid-scoop. Bubba sees an opportunity and calls for a table, setting it up in the aisle. Rock stomps down Angle. Shane attacks from behind but Rock tosses him out to the Dudleys. Bubba goees for a powerbomb but the tag champs run out with chairs, a conchairto connects on Bubba. Rock takes out the champs until Shane attacks from behind and they return to the ring. Rock tries the Rock Bottom but Trips saves it and Angle joins in. Angle Slam connects, then a Pedigree. Then Shane's music hits and... the match just kind of ends? No contest I guess. (7:10) Fun match to end the show.

Beatdown continues until the show fades out.

Smackdown
Broadcasting from the Worcester Centrum in Massachusetts, and we start with Shane, Trips, Angle and Steph coming out to the ring. Shane relates McMahon with the words power, success, ruthlessness, awesomeness and family. He says he's blessed because he has many families: his actual one in Stephanie, his extended family in Trips, and his professional family in Angle. He talks about Monday and how they had to tread rough water, but unlike most families, his family solved their problems and are a better family because of it. He plays the footage from Raw where they laid out Rock to end the show. He's sorry that Steph wasn't there to witness it, and says the picture of the three standing tall will be on the McMahon Christmas card.
Steph is also sorry and says that looking at the image of the three standing tall it fills her with pride. He says the only thing that could make her, Shane, Vince and their adoring fans happier, and that's to see Trips and Angle shake hands. There's obvious reluctance from Trips. Angle apologizes for bringing up the Hog Pen Match, or for saying he didn't accomplish much in his early career, calls him a tremendous athlete, and would be happy to shake his hand. Trips apologizes for calling Angle a jerk, an Olympic twerp, the comments he made saying Angle looked like a girl standing on the Olympic medal platform crying like a broad, the comments he made that Angle's never come close to winning the WWF Title, says it's not Angle's fault he's not as good as him. Eventually he agrees to shake hands to make Steph happy.
The happy moment is interrupted by Commissioner Foley. He admits he was emotional listening to all that, especially when they talked about Christmas. He says he leaves his decorations out year-round and plugs a children's Christmas book he has coming out soon. Since they were kind enough to share their Christmas card, he wants to share the "Foley Christmas card," the card being the footage from Raw of Steph and Angle in the parking lot on her arrival. He says that Rock doesn't have a ton of Christmas cheer to go around, and told Foley he vows to lay the Smackdown on their candy asses. Foley won't put him in a handicap match, or make him defend the title this close to Summerslam, but rather than make the decision of who faces Rock himself, he leaves it to them.

Terri is backstage and Kat walks in calling her a tramp. Kat says that even though her and Perry got lucky last week against her and Al, but Kat's found someone else and promises to rub Terri's face in it when they win. Terri tells her to go on ahead and says the match will be over quicker than Kat's career. Terri spits in her face, they grab each other's hair, Terri shoves her down and leaves.

Commercial

Shane and co. are arguing backstage. Kurt says he deserves to face Rock tonight because he won gold medals. Trips says he deserves it because he's a former champion. Shane and Steph leave the room to discuss things.

Terri Runnels & Perry Saturn (WWF European Champion) vs The Kat & Rikishi
Terri and Kat start with the catfight spot. Terri with a scoop slam before being sent into the corner. Kat nearly botches a monkey flip, then hits an awful clothesline for two. Kish tags in and Terri quickly tags in Saturn. Kish takes control with rights, then Perry sent to the corner, flies up top, caught by Kish but hits a Northern Lights suplex, only to run into a Samoan drop. Kat tags in but gets caught by the throat. Kish has the ref distracted so Kat nails a low blow, then Terri's back in for another catfight spot. Saturn drops Kat with a clothesline, Kish takes him to the floor, Terri covers for the win. (2:03)

Saturn is whipped into the steps, then into the ring and corner, then a hip attack. Kish calls for the Stinkface but Terri for reasons unknown smacks his ass. Saturn tries to save but he gets dropped in the corner again. Terri jumps on Kish's back but gets squashed in the corner. Her and Saturn are set up for a Stinkface, Saturn tries to make the save but he's hit with the Rikishi Driver, leaving Terri to suffer the Stinkface.

Angle is still trying to convince Trips. Shane returns and points out Foley's trying to stir the pot. He says he and Steph decided he'll face Rock to keep the peace.

Commercial

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Eddie Guerrero (w/ Chyna) vs Val Venis (c) (w/ Trish Stratus)
Eddie corners Val with rights after ducking a clothesline, then Val whipped hard into the corner, Eddie following with a dropkick sending him to the floor. Val whipped into the steps, then counters an Irish whip to drop Eddie on the barricade. Cheap shot to Chyna before returning to the ring, neckbreaker by Val gets two. Clubs to the back of the neck of Eddie, then sends him off the ropes, kick by Eddie and a back elbow. Clothesline by Eddie before being sent off the ropes, popped up and delivers a hurricanrana before mounting with rights. Eddie sent off the ropes but low bridges Val to the floor. Eddie gets hung up on the top rope, and while the ref checks on him, Chyna powerbombs Val to the floor from the apron. Chyna rolls Val back in right in front of the ref and Eddie covers but its a near fall. Trish grabs a pitcher from commentary and smashes it over the back of Chyna's head. Eddie gets rolled up off that distraction for Val to retain.

Shane and Steph are backstage. Steph is now convinced their neither Shane, nor Trips nor Kurt should face Rock tonight, but instead herself. She claims to have a plan of action that involves all four of them. Shane thinks she's out of her mine and walks out.

Commercial

Replay of the finish to the IC Title match.

Chyna finds Foley in his office for tonight, demanding a match with Trish tonight. Foley can't give it to her tonight, or really anytime because Chyna will rip her head off, so makes an intergender tag for Summerslam instead.

The Acolytes & Crash vs Kai En Tai & Big Boss Man
Pre-Match: Boss Man has a mic and is ashamed of APA for picking on Kai En Tai, calls them bullies, says he despises bullies the most. He then calls them Chinese and then bullies them when they try to correct him, then calls them "ornamental."
Farooq and Taka start the match, Taka sent off the ropes, slides through the ropes, tags in Funaki before getting Farooq in a crucifix, followed by a dropkick by Funaki. Clothesline to Taka by Farooq as Funaki comes off the top into a powerslam. Crash tags in with boots to Funaki in the corner, then sent across the ring, gets a boot up, misses a clothesline and hit with a back suplex.
Boss Man tags in, Crash sent off the ropes into a big boot, cover and APA save it. Boss Man sent off the ropes into double shoulder blocks, then a back suplex/neckbreaker combo. Dropkick by Boss Man as Taka tags himself in with rights. Boss Man walks out. Crash sent off the ropes into a drop toe hold, then a chinlock/dropkick combo by Kai En Tai. Michinoku Driver and a cover by Taka is broken up by APA. Taka sent off the ropes into a spinebuster by Farooq, then Bradshaw with a powerbomb to Funaki. Dominator to Taka. Crash comes off the ropes to be press slammed by Bradshaw onto Taka for the win. Fun match.

Steph is rejoined by Trips, Shane and Kurt, and they've decided now it's Trips who takes on Rock. Angle is insulted though and walks out.

Commercial

WWF Hardcore Championship: Chris Benoit (w/ Shane McMahon) vs Steve Blackman (c)
Chris Jericho on commentary.
Benoit starts with cheap shots before sending Steve off the ropes, who misses a spin kick and dropped with a clothesline. Benoit sent chest first into the corner and caught in the back with a dropkick. Blackman tosses in some trash lids, nailing him in the knees and back with one. Blackman misses a backhand shot to the back of the head with a lid but connects with the top of Benoit's head. Benoit sent off the ropes, popped up and nailed in the back of the head with a lid on the way down for two.
Benoit sends Blackman shoulder first into the corner before pulling out a leather strap from under the ring. Strap around the neck and Benoit uses it to whip Blackman back and forth across the ring, before hanging him in a tree of woe. Benoit using the strap to choke Blackman from the outside. Blackman taken to the floor and thrown into the crowd, followed by more rights from Benoit, Benoit tries to hop the barricade only to be kicked back to ringside. Benoit tries to nail  him with a stick of some kind, but Blackman pulls out his escrima sticks, Blackman taking control as Shane grabs a kendo stick.
Benoit fights out of a suplex attempt to deliver some Germans. Benoit misses a stick shot and eats a spin kick. Blackman grabs a kendo stick only to be nailed by the other in the back of the head by Shane. Shane throws Blackman back in the ring for Benoit to apply the STF. Jericho leaves commentary to nail Benoit in the back of the head with a chair, rolling Blackman on top for the win.

Benoit immediately puts him in the crossface after Jericho chases Shane to the back. Referees rush out to pull him off.

Kurt is on his way out of the arena only to be stopped by Steph. Angle says he doesn't belong and makes another Survivor reference. Steph tries to talk him out of it but Kurt says he doesn't want to be where he isn't wanted.

Commercial

The Lugz Boot of the Week is Lita eating a superkick from Steven Richards on Raw.

Edge & Christian (WWF Tag Team Champions) vs D-Von Dudley  & Jeff Hardy (w/ Buh-Buh Ray Dudley, Matt Hardy & Lita)
Pre-Match: Christian realizes Worcester has limited vocabulary, but they're here to give the people a new word: heinosity, which is what Foley did to them. Edge refers to the TLC Match as Totally Lacking Coolness, refusing to acknowledge it as Tables, Ladders and Chairs. We're told Bubba and Matt aren't cleared to wrestle after the attacks on Raw, hence the mish-mash of a tag team tonight.
Jeff and Edge start the match, Edge avoiding a back drop but missing a crossbody. Christian sent to the corner, D-Von helping with some Poetry in Motion. Jeff helping D-Von for the What's Up headbutt from the top. Bubba calls for a table, Christian nails Jeff with a low blow while the ref is trying to restore order. Scoop slam by Edge to Jeff, then off the middle rope caught with a dropkick. Inverted DDT by D-Von, cover and Christian saves it. Spear to D-Von by Edge and covers, then Jeff tries to get him with the Swanton but Edge moves out of the way and D-Von takes it instead for the win.

Jeff tries to explain to D-Von but they start arguing. Lita tries to play peacekeeper, Bubba eyes Lita until Matt comes in and a fight ensues until refs come out to pull everyone apart.

Commercial

Kane is lurking in the garage area.

RTC are out now. Bull says his daughters asked why they can't watch him on TV, and he tells them its for their own good, but wants to tell them he works for a company that promotes filth and violence, and would be ashamed of what his daughters would see. He hopes the people understand that they're doing it for them, his daughters so they can look back and see their dad made the world a better place. Goodfather says they come out with nothing but the people's best interests in mind and can't understand why they don't see it. He asks them to look at their views, listen to their message, they want the people to live the right way.
Steven says they've been criticized for their actions against women, specifically Lita and Victoria, and asks the people not to judge them by the severity of their actions, but the strength of their convictions. They stand there with hope in their hearts and fire in their spirits. They've informed, educated, begged and fought for the people, and are now warning them. He says they don't want filth, gratuitous violence, or scantily clad women, and will stop at nothing and nobody to obtain their dream of a world where houses doors can be left unlocked at night, turn on the TV and see nothing but wholesome, family entertainment, not the world they live in now, where kids are forced to view... well a close up of Rikishi's ass while he's doing squats. You know for once I agree with him. He says its obvious women aren't the only ones who need to change their ways, and that if Rikishi doesn't cover up his vulgar rear end, not only will they censor him, but show everyone what it means to fight the good fight, for their own good.

Kane's still lurking.

Commercial

The WWF Rewind is Kane chokeslamming Taker through the ring on Raw.

Road Dogg and X-Pac are getting ready in the back. X-Pac makes fun of him for taking the stinkface.

Kane is yet still lurking and getting impatient waiting on Taker.

Replay of what happened between Tazz and King on Raw, and Tazz comes up behind to choke him out with the Tazzmission until the refs rush out to break it up.

Commercial

Replay of what just happened.

Kane is walking backstage.

Road Dogg & X-Pac vs Too Cool
DX with cheap shots to start, but Too Cool start to mount a comeback, even a moonwalk from Scotty. Road Dogg whipped into X-Pac in the corner, walking into a superkick from Sexay, and Scotty with the bulldog on X-Pac to set up The Worm. Sexay goes up for the Hip Hop Drop but Dogg shoves Scotty into the corner to crotch him. Dogg tries to go for the pumphandle slam on Scotty, but X-Pac also tries for the X-Factor at the same time, so they just toss Scotty out. There's about to be an argument until Kane's pyro and music go off. Big boot to X-Pac and a chokeslam for both. I don't think the ref ever calls for the bell, but this match is over.

Kane gets a mic. To explain why he attacked Taker, he says he accepts what he is and  always has been on the inside, a monster. And that's it. Kane goes to leave but we see Taker arriving at the arena and out he comes now. Referees are already out to try and keep them separated to little effect. Taker has some words and gets in Kane's face, Kane tries to leave only to be pulled back by Taker multiple times. Taker's trying to provoke Kane into a fight, and eventually Kane sucker punches him. Taker fights back  only to be dropped with a big boot, then a boot to the head sending Taker to the floor. More vicious rights by Kane, then Taker face first off the announce table, then a chair to the head, then the back, then another to the head. Taker's busted open.

Commercial

King has rejoined Cole on commentary as we get replays of what just happened.

Trips, Shane and Steph come out for the main event, but then Foley comes to announce that along with this being non-title, it's also a "non-McMahon at ringside" match. But since he can sense Shane and Steph both wanted a title match tonight, so he's going to grant their wishes for Raw: Steph defending the Women's Championship against Lita, and Shane challenging Steve Blackman for the Hardcore Championship.

Triple H vs The Rock (WWF Champion)
McMahons banned from ringside.
An exchange of shots to start the match, Rock taking control with a swinging neckbreaker before knocking Trips to the floor. Trips face first off the announce table repeatedly before taking it back to the ring. Rock misses a clothesline and gets caught with a neckbreaker. Rock rebounds with a clothesline and some rights, only to be caught with a boot. Rock tries the Rock Bottom but Trips avoids it and hits a back suplex. Stomps and rights in the corner from Trips, followed by a suplex and a knee drop for two. More rights from Trips, then some from Rock until he's caught with a facebuster off the knee for two. Rock tries mounting a comeback, coming off the ropes, caught in a sleeper, then counters with a belly to belly for a double down.
Rock again with rights, sends Trips off the ropes into a belly to belly overhead for two. Rock misses a clothesline and runs into a high knee. Trips goes up top only to be thrown and caught with a DDT for two. Rock sent off the ropes, Trips tries to throw him out of the ring but throws him into the ref instead. Rock counters an Irish whip into a spinebuster, setting up for the People's Elbow but Kurt runs out with a chair to interrupt. Rock tries to hit Kurt with the Rock Bottom only for Trips to nail a low blow from behind, then Kurt nails him in the head with the chair. Kurt tosses the ref back in while Trips hits the Pedigree for the win. (7:25) I mean they telegraphed this finish when Foley banned the McMahons, but still a good main event.

Trips and Kurt shake hands and raise their arms high at the top of the stage to end the show.
