Week of September 4, 2000

Recap of the McMahon drama from Smackdown.

Live from the Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY for this edition of Raw. Four matches are announced for tonight:
- Rock and Taker team up to challenge Edge and Christian for the Tag Titles
- Chyna defends the IC Title against Kurt Angle
- Dudleyz vs APA in a Tables Match
- Benoit faces Kane to try and determine a #1 contender once again

Trips and Steph are out to start the show. He admits he's done terrible, heinous things, most of which he's proud of, but never hidden who he is, what he does, took what he had coming, never had a problem and can accept it. He can't accept things like the slut chant that breaks out, or what happened to him on Smackdown. He gets an asshole chant and takes pride in it. He continues on that he should have been doing what he does better than anyone, proving to everyone that he's the Game and that damn good, and instead he was in a hole in the wall police department in North Carolina, questioned for hours on end on whether he hit Steph on purpose. He sat there while she was forced to go to the ring with Angle, just to be pummeled by Chyna, calling it unacceptable. He says he's not leaving until he gets answers, he has no idea who called the cops and filed the report, says he'll sit in the ring until they admit to it and get what's coming to them.
Out comes Commissioner Foley. For once he's on Trips side and intends to get to the bottom of things because it ruined his main event. He narrowed the field to 357 people, but did more thinking, and accuses Steph of being a culpritess. He's seen the gleam in her eye over Angle, and what better way of getting rid of the jealous husband than by getting rid of the jealous husband. Steph is insulted and says she went through trauma on Smackdown and pleads her case.
Foley admits she couldn't have done it, because it would have required a cold, calculated, clever plan which she's incapable of. Foley then accuses Trips. Trips jokes about the head trauma he's given Foley and Foley figures it was to garner sympathy  and Trips calls him the biggest jackass in the world. Trips brings up how Foley forced Steph to be in Kurt's corner instead of going to the police station, and sees a miserable, twisted, manipulative man that wants to ruin his marriage at all costs, because he's jealous and bitter that he ended his career. Foley denies being the culprit and says he has diplomatic immunity as Commissioner, and would never do it. But if it wasn't any of them, it only leaves Kurt.
Angle wastes no time coming out next and compares himself to Richard Jewell, also taking a chance to brag about his medals. He admits he didn't like how Trips brutally hit his good friend Steph but wouldn't call the cops, he's a man of integrity. He accuses Chyna as the one person who wants to see them break up more than anyone. He says Trips and Chyna still have feelings for each other, they do whatever it takes to get what they want, and clearly they both have no qualms in physically assaulting Steph. Trips is about to go off but Mick interrupts and invites Chyna out.
So here she is now. She takes joy in ramming Steph's head into the mat on Smackdown but denies calling the cops, or that there's anything with her and Trips. Foley brings up how Eddie lost to Trips last week, and stands to lose again tonight, and figures he has motive to eliminate Trips from the picture. So here's Eddie now. Eddie denies it and actually wants to prove to Chyna and the world that he can kick Trips' ass in the middle of the ring. Foley polls the fans to decide who the culprit is seeing as we're at an impasse. Foley makes his way around with Kurt as the last, Kurt tries to suck up to the fans by wishing them a happy Labor Day, but he ultimately gets the biggest reaction.
All of a sudden Test and Trish come out now. Test brings up the night he and Steph were supposed to marry back in November, he's angry that he was supposed to get money, power, and watch his career skyrocket, only for Trips to take her from under his nose. He's waited a long time for this, he smiled big watching the cops take Trips away on Smackdown, and only regrets that they didn't take his sorry ass to jail, before finally admitting to calling the cops. Foley makes Test vs Trips tonight, for some reason calling Trips the WWF Champion. Test says that payback and Steph have one thing in common, they're both a bitch. Trips runs after Test, but Angle attacks him and they double team Trips until Foley and refs break them up. This went way too long but... I don't know whether to appreciate the storytelling or admonish how long it took to do this.

Rock arrives.

Commercial

Replay of what just happened.

Rock comes out to join commentary for the first match. Rock agrees with Trips about the head trauma and brings up Foley's blunder calling Trips the champion.

WWF Championship #1 Contender's Match: Chris Benoit vs Kane
Trading blows until Kane takes control in the corner, then Benoit sent off the ropes, avoids a big boot but runs into a clothesline. Backbreaker from Kane gets two. Benoit sent to the corner and caught with a military press. Kane briefly distracts himself with Rock, allowing Benoit to hit a swinging neckbreaker. Kane shoved face first into the corner, Benoit with a German gets two. Kane sent to the corner and caught with a back suplex.
Benoit up top hits the flying headbutt. Benoit distracts himself now and Kane immediately grabs him while he's on the apron. Kane tries an inverted suplex but can't get him up and drops him right on his head instead, then tosses Benoit to the floor. Kane runs right into the ring post, and Benoit and Rock trade words again, allowing Kane to throw Benoit into the steps. Kane grabs Rock by the throat, throws him to the floor, Benoit hits Kane in the back with a chair for the DQ. (3:27)

Kane no-sells and big boots Benoit. Rock hits Kane with a Rock Bottom on the floor, takes his belt and leaves.

Commercial

Replay of what just happened.

Tables Match: Dudley Boyz vs APA (w/ Kaientai)
APA have control in the early going, Bubba caught with a powerslam in the ring from Farooq while D-Von sends Bradshaw into the steps. JR does say it's not an elimination match, first person to go through a table ends the match. Bubba ducks a clothesline and hits a back suplex, setting up the What's Up. Dudleyz slide a table into the ring and hold it up, just for Bradshaw to boot it back into their faces. Clothesline from Bradshaw to D-Von. Farooq and Bubba fight on the floor as Bradshaw sets up the table near the corner. Kaientai slide in, try to clothesline Bubba with their flag but nail Farooq instead. Bradshaw tries to superplex D-Von through the table, but Bubba powerbombs him through it instead for the win. (1:52)

Kaientai try hard to apologize but gets a spinebuster and a clothesline for their trouble. Bradshaw tosses in another table, Bradshaw powerbombs Taka through it, then Farooq gives Funaki the Dominator onto Taka. I think they were both supposed to go through the table because you can audibly hear Farooq telling Bradshaw not to, but oh well.

Eddie finds Foley playing darts in his office, which this week appears to be just a giant empty room and Foley's using a Customer Service Desk. Eddie talks him into making the IC Title match a triple threat in order to protect Chyna and get his hands on Kurt.

Commercial

More political bullshit.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Chyna (c) vs Kurt Angle vs Eddie Guerrero
Eddie doesn't wait for his music to play, while Kurt's talking to Chyna from the floor, Eddie attacks from behind before tossing him in the ring. Chyna and Kurt get shots in and take Kurt to the corner for double teaming. Kurt reverses an Irish whip and sends Chyna to the corner, over the ropes to the floor. Eddie with stomps in the corner and a clothesline, then sent off the ropes into a belly to belly suplex, cover and Chyna breaks it up. Kicks to the ribs by Chyna, then more double teaming in the corner. Kurt sent off the ropes into a double flapjack, then a double suplex, Chyna covers for two. Kurt sent off the ropes, ducks a double clothesline, nails Chyna with one of his own and sends Eddie to the floor.
Chyna sent off the ropes into a clothesline, then goes after Eddie. Kurt with a chair to the ribs, then Chyna saves one to the head. Back in the ring, Angle sent off the ropes into a clothesline, then another. Angle back off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits a German suplex. Eddie slides in with a chair and the ref stops him. Angle nails Chyna with the title belt, Eddie takes him out with a dropkick and a suplex to the floor. Eddie wants to go after Kurt, but tends to Chyna, holds her head in his arms, and inadvertently covers and pins her for the win. (4:03)

Eddie doesn't want it at least at first, then loves it, then drops the title when Chyna comes to before helping her to the back with the title behind his back.

T&A are backstage and Test wants to put Trips in the hospital.

Steph and Trips are elsewhere. Steph is ranting about this but Trips tells her to stay back there, saying Test has no idea what he's in for.

Commercial

Replay of the IC Title match finish.

Eddie is trying to apologize and plead his case, he even tries to give it back to her, says she means more than the title. Chyna eventually forgives him and they hug, meanwhile Eddie has the biggest grin on his face.

Test (w/ Albert & Trish Stratus) vs Triple H
Hunter fends off both T&A on his own, even makes Albert run into Test before getting backdropped to the floor, and Test clotheslined to the floor, all while Trish distracts the ref. Trips pulls Trish in by the hair, tries to Pedigree until Test returns for the save. Boots and rights and choking in the corner, then Trips fights out, gets sent off the ropes into a big boot. Steph is watching on a monitor backstage and up walks Kurt, who just watches from behind. Meanwhile Albert hits Trips with a big boot and military presses him into the ring while Test keeps the ref busy. Gutwrench powerbomb by Test gets two. Test up top misses an elbow, Trips comes back with rights, sends Test off the ropes into a high knee. Trips sent off the ropes for a facebuster, cover and Albert gets on the apron, gets knocked down, Test misses a clothesline, Trips hits the Pedigree for the win. (2:32) Well that happened.

Albert gets a Pedigree too because fuck it why not? Steph comes out to celebrate with her husband

Naked Mideon is approached by Foley in the locker room trying to figure out why he streaked on Raw last week. Foley brings up that he used to wear a shirt because he looks like Mideon, and he's gotten complaints, so he needs Mideon's word that he won't run into matches naked anymore. Mideon complies and offers a hug, then is horrified when he drops his clipboard and Mideon bends over.

Commercial

Replay of the Trips/Test match finish.

Now it's time for Right to Censor. Goodfather says a miracle happens every day, a man is saved, and says selective censorship shouldn't be shunned, but in fact embraced. He continues to preach about how they're trying to do the right thing. Steven says that someone else will help them clean up an establishment that spits in the face of morality, help the RTC, bring virtue to a business that'd rather promote scantily clad women than competition. He says this man will join them in saying no more: Val Venis.
Val comes out not dressed as a member of RTC and calls them hypocrites, denies ever agreeing to join a group that preaches about making the world better by taking away the freedoms America worked so hard for. He also never agreed to join a group that speaks against violence while at the same time abusing women. He also never agreed to join a group that dresses like geeky poindexters. Most importantly he never agreed to join a group that tries to dictate what he and everyone can and can't say, do and tells them to take RTC and shove it up their ass.
Steven is dumbfounded because Val dumped his disgusting, pornstar image, changes his tights from black to white, and dump that vixen Trish and her perverse group, and while Val doesn't see it, Steven says he's one of them. Val says they think their job is to censor what they think is inappropriate while he thinks that's the parents' job. They think it's their job to preach and induct him into the RTC, where he didn't come to debate but instead compete. He says if Steven or his goons come near him they'll become permanently censored and he will end them. Steven says since he's not with them, he's against them. Alright then, I wasn't expecting a Val babyface run before joining RTC.

Crash is in catering trying some pickup lines and is approached by Boss Man, who pours milk on his head and mashes a banana on his face. Malenko approaches with some ladies to stick up for Crash just to get shoved into Crash and Boss Man walks away.

Commercial

E&C are talking about their title defense tonight, trying to come up with excuses to get out of it, pneumonia, Tourette's syndrome, genital warts. Foley walks in to wish them good luck, makes a quick, cheap plug for Highlander: End Games that Edge is in, and makes it clear he'll strip and suspend them if they try to get out of the match tonight.

WWF Hardcore Championship: Big Boss Man vs Steve Blackman (c)
Pre-Match: JR mentions that Foley has made a tag match for later, pitting RTC vs Val and a partner of his choosing.
Blackman kicks Boss Man from the apron before hanging him over the top rope. Boss Man sent to the corner, blocks a monkey flip, misses an elbow and gets dropkicked to the floor. Boss man grabs a kendo stick and nails Blackman in the leg, before returning to the ring. Blackman avoids a few swings and pulls out his escrima sticks, pummeling Boss Man with them, covers and Boss Man gets out with a kendo stick shot to the head.
Boss Man pulls out a fire extinguisher and blinds Blackman with it, who rolls to the floor. Boss Man finds a leather strap and takes the match into the crowd. Blackman whipped across the bac a couple times as they take it to the back. Blackman thrown across a catering table. Boss Man pulls out a baton, Malenko nails comes from behind to nail him with a trash can, Crash throws hot coffee in his face, Blackman nails a side kick to retain. (3:03)

Blackman isn't very appreciative because he nails Crash in the back of the head with a nearby trash can lid, then Malenko too, while Boss Man screams presumably from coffee burns.

Tazz enters Foley's office and demands matches with both Jericho and Lawler, and doesn't care what kind of matches they are. Foley compromises and says he'll give him both tonight, and even give him a partner, says he's a monster, won multiple WWF titles. Tazz promises to make Foley just another victim if his partner isn't all that.

Right to Censor vs Road Dogg & Val Venis
Bull and Roadie start, Roadie takes control with rights and in comes Val, Bull sent off the ropes into double back elbows. More rights from Val, comes off the ropes and runs into a clothesline. Goodfather tags and runs into a drop toe hold, then Val sent off the ropes, kneed by Bull and clotheslined by Goodfather. Val sent off the ropes into a shoulder block, then takes Val to the corner. Bull back in, Val sent off the ropes into a back elbow, then Goodfather in again. Val sent off the ropes, big boot and a boot takes him down. Val sent to the corner, gets a boot up and nails a clothesline. Roadie gets the hot tag and delivers flip, flop and fly until Goodfather takes contreol. Goodfather runs himself into the corner and Roadie nails a flying forearm, while Val is sent into the steps by Bull and... Roadie wins? With a forearm? Alright... (2:29)

Bull with a DDT to Val on the floor, then an ax kick on Roadie back in the ring. RTC take to kidnapping an unconscious Val. Camera follows them to the back and out of the building into a van driven by Steven. Well so much for that babyface run I was thinking of.

Commercial

Replay of what just happened.

Jerry "the King" Lawler & Chris Jericho vs Tazz & Naked Mideon
Pre-Match: For reasons unknown Lawler is conveniently wearing his ring gear under his jacket. Mideon comes out to Real American and I think JR actually thinks it could be Hogan? Mideon even does the Hogan poses, what the hell is going on here Actually, Bash at the Beach has already happened at this point, so theoretically that's not impossible. And technically, Mideon is a former European and Tag Team Champion under different gimmicks.
Anyways Tazz is dumbfounded, King immediately rolls him up for the win and Mideon runs off.

Commercial

During the break, Tazz somehow got his hands on a leather strap and uses it to choke Lawler out.

Over to WWF New York where the hos are still running their "Save the Hos" campaign.

JR announces that Stone Cold is going to make a statement on Smackdown.

Commercial

We're supposed to have the Tag Title match but Kane is out now to inexplicably join commentary with Lawler being tended to by medical staff. Most of what he says is hard to make out or understand.

WWF Tag Team Championships: Edge & Christian (c) vs The Undertaker & The Rock (WWF Champion)
Rock and Christian start, Christian sent off the ropes into a back elbow, then avoids a back suplex and runs into a clothesline. Taker tags in with rights, then sends Christian off the ropes into a big boot and an elbow for two. Christian sent to the corner for a clothesline and a sidewalk slam, cover and Edge saves it. Christian back to the corner, catches Taker with a corner and tags in Edge. Edge with rights before sending Taker off the ropes, who hits a DDT, covers and Christian saves it. Taker with elbows in the corner on Christian allowing Edge to hit a spear and a double team ensues, with Rock inadvertently keeping the ref busy.
Edge back in taking Taker to the corner with mounted punches, only to be shoved to the mat, off the ropes and misses an elbow. Christian back in to choke Taker in the corner, Edge with cheap shots from the floor as Taker is kicked out of the ring. Taker fights back only for Christian to get him from behind and takes it back to the ring. Edge in again, whips Taker into the corner hard, Christian back in to choke Taker and apply a headlock. Edge back in eventually, Taker starts a comeback, sends Edge off the ropes into a boot, tries the Last Ride, then tries a chokeslam on Christian until Edge cuts it off with a dropkick, then covers but his legs are in the ropes. Christian back in, taker sent off the ropes into back elbows for two, then another cover for two. Taker sent off the ropes again, avoids back drops, then sends Edge off the ropes and they take each other out with clotheslines.
Rock gets the hot tag and in comes Christian, Christian sent off the ropes into a tilt-a-whirl slam. Rock counters an Irish whip with a DDT for two. Benoit tries to run interference but is immediately caught by Taker and they fight at ringside. Edge knocked to the floor,  Rock Bottom on Christian, cover and Edge breaks it up before hitting a clothesline on Rock. Edge grabs a chair and nails Rock in the head while Christian keeps the ref busy, Taker is still busy with Benoit, Christian covers but it's only two. Rock with a spinebuster, cover, and Kane pulls the referee out. Taker goes after Kane on the floor with the ref between them, while E&C connect with the Conchairto to retain. (9:55) Felt like it dragged too long when Taker was in there getting double teamed but it was fine.

Broadcasting from Freedom Hall in Louisville, KY for this edition of Smackdown. Scheduled tonight, Stone Cold has a special message, Rikishi faces Benoit, Eddie Guerrero up against Road Dogg in a non-title match, Triple H fends off T&A in a handicap match, and APA and the Dudleyz have a Bar Room Brawl. Cole is by himself tonight after the attack by Tazz from Raw.

Speaking of, Tazz comes out to Lawler's music carrying his crown to join commentary.

Chris Jericho vs X-Pac
A quick exchange ends with X-Pac getting thrown to the floor. Another exchange back in the ring that ends with a chop from Jericho. A third exchange ends with Jericho clotheslining X-Pac, followed by a spinning heel kick, then a triangle dropkick knocks X-Pac to the floor. Jericho misses a baseball slide, gets sent into the barricade and runs into a spin kick. X-Pac has control back in the ring, sending Jericho off the ropes into a sleeper, then Jericho counters with one of his own only to be dropped with a back suplex.
Exchange of blows drops Jericho down in the corner setting him up for the Bronco Buster. X-Pac celebrates in the corner allowing Jericho to plant him with a powerbomb. Now Jericho takes control, sent off the ropes and hits a flying forearm, then a bulldog for two. Jericho ducks a clothesline, misses an enziguri, counters an X-Factor with a spinebuster. X-Pac gets the knees up on a Lionsault. There's a sloppy stalemate as they try a backslide on each other, X-Pac gets in a low blow out of the ref's view, gets the backslide and his feet on the ropes for the win. (5:02) A fine opener.

Angle finds Foley playing darts in his office, which I can't tell where it is this week. Kurt complains about being put in what was basically a handicap match on Raw, says he was under pressure, and that he should be IC Champion seeing as he took Chyna out in that match. Foley twists his words as an excuse to give him a match with Taker.

Commercial

The Tag Champs come out, Tazz is still on commentary. Edge says that while they could brag about beating Rock and Taker, or The Rockertaker, but they're not that type, so instead of giving a 5-second pose, they're here to give a history lesson about the great city of Louisville. Edge points out it's in Kentucky. Christian then brags about beating Taker and Rock in Lexington, which we get a replay of Christian getting the pin on Rock. Edge repeats they're here to educate, not gloat, continuing on that soap was first used in Louisville in 1996. Christian brags about getting a clean win over Rock and Taker and shows the replay again, this time in slow motion. Edge ultimately admits this is about them and we get the replay again from a different angle.
They try to get a fourth replay but they're finally interrupted by Rock. Rock calls them jabronis and points out Christian didn't beat him on his own, and challenges them both to a match tonight. Christian figures he's woozy from the Conchairto and says that's not happening, because as Edge says they're not ruining their undefeated against Rock in Kentucky streak, and says they reek of awesomeness. Rock mocks their new catchphrase and says they reek of Kentucky Derby horseshit. Christian says they'll give him the match on the condition that it's tornado rules. Rock accepts the condition. Edge adds that they also want the WWF Title on the line. Rock accepts. Rock takes out his invisible crystal ball, sees Edge, Christian, they're still Tag Champs, it gets foggy, he shakes it, and sees Rock whopping their asses all over Louisville.

Trips and Steph are backstage, she accuses Rock of copying him talking about his handicap with T&A. She says Rock will never be half the man he is.

Commercial

We go to the Have a Nice Day Cafe where APA are having drinks, by the talk this is where the Bar Room Brawl will happen. We get a replay of what happened on Raw for context.

Rikishi vs Chris Benoit
Benoit corners Kish only to be shoved to the mat. Benoit is right back on the attack then shoved down again. Kish sends him off the ropes into a clothesline, followed by a scoop slam and a leg drop. Kish with a clothesline in the corner, dropping him into position for the Stinkface, but Benoit quickly escapes to the floor. Kish doesn't let up but gets thrown into the steps for his trouble. Back in the ring, Benoit delivers a back suplex before going up top to hit the diving headbutt but only gets two. Kish sent to the corner chest first, Benoit with a Northern Lights suplex gets two. Benoit back up top gets cut off and Kish delivers a belly to belly suplex for two. Benoit sent off the ropes, tries a sunset flip, Kish drops ass first onto Benoit for a two count. Samoan drop by Kish gets two. Benoit gets squashed in the corner. Bull comes out, Kish hits a superkick on Benoit. Bull distracts the ref, now Goodfather comes out but gets knocked off the apron. Benoit delivers a bridging German for the win. (4:38) Great match.

It's at this point I need to point out how insufferably obnoxious Tazz is on commentary so far. Anyways RTC immediately pounce on Kish. Too Cool nail Benoit from behind on their way down to make the save, so Benoit cuts them down to give RTC the advantage

Recap video of what happened with the IC Title on Raw.

We get footage from earlier in the day where Chyna's confronting Eddie about the grin on his face when they hugged on Raw, apparently she's since seen that footage. Eddie tries to defend himself but she's not buying it, says she would have given anything including the title, that she wanted to build a future with him, while he just cared about his career. Eddie is pissed now, he says he's given up friends, family, personal wants for her. He gets pissed that she's got all the attention, even being on Leno and 3rd Rock from the Sun, not in any magazines and accuses her of not being behind him and leaves her a crying mess. Well that escalated quickly.

Too Cool vs RTC has been made for tonight as we get a replay of the Eddie/Chyna insanity.

Back to the Cafe, APA are ready to leave when the Dudleyz finally arrive and set up a table in the middle of the room. They trade words before the Dudleyz smash beers over their heads, then Bradshaw smashes one over D-Von's head , then D-Von one over his. Bubba and Farooq break stools over each other, then a chair to the back. Bubba breaks a glass over Farooq's head, Bradshaw throws D-Von through doors completely destroying them. Bubba smashes a bottle and goes to cut Farooq with it only for Bradshaw to break a broom over his back and Farooq puts him through the table with a spinebuster. Bradshaw smashes a bottle over his head. Some random bargoer walks over and gets punched in the face by Farooq for no real reason. I guess APA win. That ruled.

Tazz rants about being tough before King comes from behind int he crowd and chokes him with a leather strap. Referees immediately rush out to try and pull them apart.

Commercial

I have never been so happy to see Lawler and get Tazz off commentary, while we get a replay of what just happened.

Test gets his hands on Steph, Kurt runs out for the save to send him into the steps. Albert gets hung up on the rope, then nailed with the Pedigree for the win. (5:33) It's just occurred to me during this match that Triple H is supposed to be the babyface, which is fucking weird. It was an alright match.

Road Dogg checks up on Chyna in the back, she's defending Eddie and thinks she should be more supportive. Now Eddie sees them  and tells Roadie to mind his own business before leaving with her.

Commercial

Replay of the finish to the handicap match.

Commercial

Replay of what just happened.

Trips returns to his room with Stephanie and she's upset he attacked Kurt. He says he did what he wanted and will continue to do it, insisting on his distrust of Angle. Steph says Angle let his actions speak for him tonight and reminds her husband that he saved her, and asks what'll happen next time she's in danger.

We go to Stone Cold in his home in Teaxs (in a pre-tape). He says he's been out more than nine months, and reminds us he doesn't forget or forgive, pointing out the irony of the Unforgiven PPV name. He says he's giving whoever ran him over until Unforgiven to admit to the act, but if they make him wait, he's going to go to Unforgiven and interrogate everyone until he finds out who did it. When he does, he hopes God has mercy on their soul because no amount of prayers will save them from Stone Cold.

E&C are talking in the back. Christian suggest they go for the IC Title so they're immersed in goldage. Edge marks out over a soda machine with his name on it and Rock attacks him from behind with a chair. Edge gets thrown into the vending machine.

Commercial

Replay of what just happened.

Time for the main event. Rock comes out first. Then Christian comes out by himself. He says even though Rock took out Edge, Foley has ordered this will still be a handicap match and introduces bis new partner.

Tornado Handicap Match for the WWF Championship: The Rock (c) vs Christian (WWF Tag Team Champion) & Kane
Rock immediately goes after Kane, who enters the ring first. Kane counters an Irish whip with a clothesline, then a right. Kane takes Rock to the corner for rights, Rock mounts a comeback but gets sent across the ring and gets a boot up. Rock avoids a clothesline and hits a Samoan drop, covers for two. Kane follows with a big boot. Christian stays at ringside presumably scared of Kane while Rock tries another comeback. Kane goozles him, Rock fights out, tries a Rock Bottom only to be sent to the floor with a right.
Kane takes the fight into the crowd, Rock whipped into the barricade before it's taken right back to ringside. Christian inadvertently distracts the ref allowing Rock to nail Kane with the ring bell, but it allows Christian to hit him with a clothesline. Back in the ring, Christian stomps and chokes Rock, Rock trying another comeback, but Christian ducks a clothesline, nails a spinning heel kick and gets two. Christian sent to the corner, nails an elbow, goes up top, Rock nails a boot off a crossbody and delivers a DDT for two.
Christian sent off the ropes into a belly to belly. Rock knocks Kane off the apron. Christian sent off the ropes into a spinebuster. Rock goes for the People's Elbow, Kane intercepts with a chokeslam, covers but Christian breaks it up and nails Kane with a low blow. Inverted DDT by Christian on Rock, cover and Kane pulls Christian up by the hair and tosses him out of the ring. Christian pulls him out of the ring only for Kane to take control, sending him face first off the apron.  Kane takes apart the announce table. Edge returns to the aid of Christian but Kane easily hammers him down too. Christian grabs the title belt, but Rock catches him with the Rock Bottom to retain. (6:26) This was basically a glorified triple threat match but was still some good fun.

Kane returns to the ring to attack Rock and shove the ref down. Kane eventually chokeslams Rock through the announce table to close the show.
