Week of September 11, 2000

Live from the America West Arena in Phoenix, AZ for this edition of Raw. Announced for tonight:
- Angle takes on T&A
- Hardyz meet the Dudleyz in a contender's match
- Lita faces Ivory, presumably a non-title match
- Blackman faces X-Pac for the Hardcore Title.

Commissioner Foley's out to start the show. He starts with a cheap pop and wonders if he should have returned as Commissioner Cactus Jack. He brings up Stone Cold and his imminent return at Unforgiven, but as much he'd love to see Austin interrogate everyone, it doesn't need to happen at Unforgiven. He does clarify Austin isn't there and that he suggests he'll do his own investigation in his place in the meantime. He encourages the perpetrator to come forward and face the calm, cool, collected Foley instead of a pissed off rattlesnake He says Austin's waves off the criminal charges and no one will be charged, but if the culprit has the guts they can settle things right now. He insists this person come out and face the music.
With the weirdest timing, out comes Rock.  Lawler does remind us that it was Rock's rental car that did the deed and says he had the most to gain. Foley immediately thinks this means Rock is admitting to running over Austin. Rock cuts him off mid-rant and admits that this is the most-half-assed investigation he's ever seen, even going so far as to say "Oh hell no" after being asked if he did it. He says he gave his word to the cops, the people and Austin himself that he didn't do it, and says it doesn't matter if the charges are dropped, Austin's name is dropped, or Foley's pants are dropped, all that matters is Austin find who did it and deal with it Stone Cold style.
Foley says it does matter if his pants are dropped, but wonders why Rock is here if he's not admitting guilt. Rock is here for payback and brings up how Kane put him through the announce table on his show, he understands that Kane had a rough childhood and mocks him for being burned. He doesn't care if it's Kane's body, face or balls on fire, he only cares that Kane shows up at Unforgiven so he can lay the smackdown on his candy ass.
This immediately brings out Benoit. He says WWF stands for World Wrestling Federation and calls himself the best wrestler in the company and the industry. He points out he's beaten Rock, who he calls a joke of a champion, once, and if anyone deserves a shot it's him. Foley starts to talk and he's immediately interrupted by Kane, and then Undertaker comes out before Kane can say anything who also stakes his claim to the contendership.
Now we have Taker and Kane fighting in the aisle, and Rock and Benoit fighting in the ring, now all four are in the ring going at it. Kane tries to hit Taker he ducks, and Foley gets knocked out of the ring inadvertently. Rock knocks Benoit to the floor just as the officials run out to try and separate everyone.

Commercial

Replay of the chaos that just happened.

Michael Cole is with Foley backstage. Foley guarantees a #1 contender by the end of the night, and makes Taker and Rock against Kane and Benoit for tonight.

Dudley Boyz vs Hardy Boyz
Winners challenge Edge & Christian for the Tag Titles at Unforgiven. Edge & Christian on commentary.
Dudleyz start a fight immediately to get the match going, Bubba clotheslines Matt in the ring, while Hardy runs along the barricade to clothesline D-Von on the floor. D-Von tossed into the ring for a scoop slam and a leg drop from the middle rope by Matt for two.  D-Von sent to the corner for Poetry in Motion, then D-Von hits an inverted Impaler. Jeff and Bubba tag in, Bubba with a clothesline, then Matt caught with a sidewalk slam for two. Jeff caught with a Bubba Bomb, then an inverted 3D on Matt, cover and Jeff saves it. D-Von clotheslined to the floor and Matt follows with a tope. Bubba misses a senton on Jeff from the middle rope. E&C  leave commentary as Matt goes up top, ref is distracted by Christian. Edge hits Matt with a belt, knocks him off the top onto Bubba in the ring. I thought it was a double pinfall, and honestly both of their shoulders are down, based on how they landed but commentary are saying the Hardyz win.(2:18)

Champs immediately attack. Dudleyz attack  and hit the Christian with the What's Up. They give Edge the 3D with a table after setting one up but it doesn't break.

WWF Women's Championship: Lita (c) vs Ivory
Pre-Match: Apparently this match was made because Ivory teamed up with Lo Down in a losing effort to Lita and the Hardyz the night before on Heat.
Lita immediately gets Ivory with a drop toe hold, then Ivory sent to the corner for a clothesline. Lita with a snapmare and a dropkick to the back gets two. Ivory sends Lita off the ropes into a sidewalk slam for two. Ivory with... well it's basically Lyra Valkyria's Night Wing gets two. Ivory caught with an enziguri. Lita hits a suplex, just as Naked Mideon hits the ring to dance and leave just as quickly. Ivory hits the Twist of Fate and the moonsault off the distraction to retain. (2:02)

Kurt enters Foley's office, which again this week looks like it's just a giant empty hall in the arena. Kurt sucks up a bit asking Foley how he is and says that Foley's health concerns him more than anything. Foley appreciates his insincerity and thinks he's doing better than Kurt was last week, bringing up how HHH kicked his ass on Smackdown. Kurt says he's going to beat T&A by himself, something Trips couldn't do. Foley toys with Kurt a bit suggesting T&A stands for Taker & Austin. Angle says he had nothing to do with "his untimely demise" as if he's dead . Kurt's issue is that Trips has the night off. Foley agrees to put Trips in a match with "a suitable opponent" on the condition that Angle shuts up. I'm mistaken, Foley's office is just on the back of one of those vehicles that transports things around, not a forklift, but the things where they have a big platform behind it to carry heavy things around, but they leave anyways.

Commercial

Video package on the relationship issues with Chyna and Eddie.

Footage from earlier in the day, Chyna's doing her makeup, Eddie walks in and immediately gets shoved out. Eddie tries to promise that what happened last week won't happen again as he comes back in and she shoves him back out. Eddie enters again to offer what seems like a real apology, admits he lost control and blames the title getting between them. He insists he loves her and is everything to him, says he wants a partner in life and wants her forever. He wishes she'd never seen that side of him and begs for forgiveness. Chyna says she already forgave him and invites her out to dance and kick ass.

Too Cool vs Eddie Guerrero (WWF Intercontinental Champion) & Chyna
Eddie immediately blindsides Too Cool, stomping them down and taking Sexy with a clothesline to start. Scoop slam by Eddie, then takes the face with his boot. Eddie in the corner with rights and boots. Sexay sent to the corner, gets a boot up, goes to the middle rope  with a missile dropkick. Scotty tags in with a leg splitter, then off the ropes with an elbow. Rights in the corner from Scotty until Eddie rakes the eyes, then sent across the ring, Scotty slides under the legs and out of the ring. Eddie's tripped, Scotty off the top with a crossbody for two. Eddie back with rights before he's sent off the ropes, a weird miscommunication, then Scotty sent off the ropes, slips behind with a back suplex.
Chyna tries to ask Eddie for a tag but he waves her off, Sexy scoops him up but gets off balance and accidentally knocks Chyna off the apron before slamming Eddie. Scotty comes in with the bulldog to set up the Worm. Chyna returns to clothesline Scotty out of the ring, Sexay up top  hits the Hip Hop Drop on the back of Eddie's head and neck while Chyna goes after Scotty and Too Cool get the win. (4:01)

Chyna returns to the ring to talk things out with Eddie who keeps his cool and they both agree to dance with Too Cool despite the loss. Except Eddie lays them both out with the IC Title mid-dance to Chyna's confusion. Rikishi comes out to make the save. Eddie is set up for the stinkface until Chyna nails Rikishi with the belt to make the save to her visible reluctance.

Cut to Trips and Steph. He accuses Kurt of copying him with tonight's handicap match but says T&A will tear the guy apart, and now Foley's apparently put him in a match without naming his opponent, and he wonders if everyone's lost it. He tells Steph to stay in the back because he doesn't trust Foley. Steph says he wants to watch her in action, but he says she'll see him up close before leaving.

Commercial

Replay of the Eddie, Chyna and Too Cool drama. Footage shows Sexay was busted open from the belt shot as he was helped to the back.

We're about to get to HHH's match but we cut to Eddie and Chyna returning to their dressing room as Trips makes his entrance. She tells him he needs to control his temper. He insists he was and claims he was protecting her while also talking about how hot she looks. This is where she reveals she's going to be on the cover of Playboy. Eddie tries to be excited until he founds out she's nude in the magazine and claims no one will see her naked, he loses it thinking about how his friends and family will think about it. He even threatens to storm the Playboy Mansion.

Triple H vs Chris Jericho
Pre-Match: Jericho says he was surprised when he found out this was his match, but figures Trips is no stranger to surprises given he saw Angle plant a big kiss on Steph's lips, or when she complained and seemingly enjoyed it. He doesn't care about whether Steph and Kurt enjoy kissing each other, or if Kurt even enjoys kissing Trips, because all three of them can kiss his ass.
Immediate lockup to start the match, and a shoving contest into the corners and the ropes. Then an exchange of blows until Jericho is sent off the ropes to hit a flying clothesline. Trips sent off the ropes, kicks Jericho and gets nailed with a spinning heel kick. Jericho then back dropped to the floor. Trips off the apron with an ax handle before dropping Jericho onto the apron chest and throat first. Jericho shoulder first into the ring post before returning to the ring, but Jericho knocks him off the apron with a dropkick, .
Chops by Jericho, then Trips face first off the steps before getting tossed into the crowd, and just as quickly back to ringside. Back to the ring, Jericho goes up top to deliver a spinning back elbow for two. Jericho sent to the corner, gets a boot up and runs into a high knee for two. Jericho counters an Irish whip, but Trips counters and goes for a Pedigree, until he's distracted as Steph comes out. Jericho counters out and tries for the Walls but catapults Trips into the corner and Jericho follows with the bulldog. Jericho tries to follow with the Lionsault but Trips gets the knees up. Now Kurt comes out to try and take Steph to the back, which distracts Trips again as Steph tries to pull away. Trips hits the facebuster as he's sent off the ropes and now he goes after Angle on the ramp. X-Pac suddenly shows up to hit a heel kick on Jericho in the ring for the DQ. (5:10) That was actually a decent match but the ending is just confusing.

X-Pac continues the assault much to Trips and Steph's confusion. Both of them argue and shove each other, X-Pac gets shoved to his ass as they trade more words and X-Pac leaves.

Commercial

Right to Censor vs Acolytes
Goodfather starts the match with Bradshaw. Bradshaw sends him off the ropes into a back elbow, then a shoulder block, just as Val Venis comes out to the top of the ramp with a chair. Back suplex by Bradshaw and Farooq tags in. Goodfather counters an Irish whip with a boot and in tags Bull, he's sent to the corner and rebounds with a clothesline. Bull sent off the ropes into a powerslam for two. Val moves halfway down the ramp as Bradshaw tags in, Bull sent off the ropes into double shoulders and an elbow for two. Bull sent off the ropes and hits a swinging neckbreaker, then leaps off the middle rope with a clothesline. Bradshaw sent to the corner and rebounds with a shoulder block.
Farooq back in with a clothesline, then Bull sent off the ropes into a powerslam. Goodfather tries to save nbut gets knocked down, Farooq with a spinebuster on Bull, cover and Goodfather save. Bradshaw gets elevated tot he floor by Goodfather. Farooq tries to get Bull up for the Dominator, Val gets on the apron and argues with the ref, Bull hits Farooq in the head with a big boot, Goodfather covers for the win. (2:38)

APA attack but Val enters and lays out APA with his chair. Steven Richards runs out to join in for a 4-on-2 beatdown and they all leave together.

WWF European Championship: Al Snow (c) vs Tazz
Pre-Match: I wanted to post the video in this blog but the file size is too big, so I'll direct you to the tweet I made with the video here. As I'm typing this I've watched Al Snow's entrance probably 5 times and have been laughing 20 min straight now at the absurdity. Though putting it through Google translate, I think the German version of Al Snow's song is a bastardization because "What does everybody want?" doesn't quite translate to what is said in this version of his song. I think.
While Al is trying to remove his lederhosen, Tazz attacks from behind to start the match.  T-bone suplex by Tazz, then a vertical suplex by Al. Al sent to the corner and hits a sitout powerbomb on Tazz. Al off the top with a moonsault bu tTazz gets the knees up, Tazz applies the Tazzmission. Al tries to counter by pushing out of the corner and takes out the ref by accident in the process, but it still forces Tazz to release the hold.  Al is tossed to the floor, then over the announce table into Lawler. Tazz takes it back to the ring, Lawler smashes the Hasselhoff picture Al took to the ring over Tazz's head while the ref is still coming to. Al retains with an inside cradle. (1:28)

Tazz calls for a mic and says he's had enough, he's not playing games anymore, that he can't compete when Lawler has the political power he has in the company. He claims no one wanted him in the WWF, that he's the outsider, He says he taps out and that he himself becomes just another victim to the WWF.

More political crap.

T&A are on their way to the ring, as is Angle.

Commercial

Chris Jericho Chef Boyardee commercial.

Kurt Angle vs T&A (w/ Trish Stratus)
Pre-Match: Angle dedicates the match to the prospective, American, Olympic athletes, then brags about his own gold medals. He also dedicates it to his good friend Steph. It disgusts him what they tried to do to Steph last week, and they remind him of Randy Johnson and Curt Shilling: two lugs that accomplished nothing.
Albert starts the match and takes control with rights and boots int he corner, Angle sent across the ring, avoids a splash, hits a German, celebrates early and eats a big boot from Test. Angle sent off the ropes into a double gorilla press. Butterfly suplex by Albert and Test tags in with more rights, boots and a choke in the corner. Angle sent off the ropes into a back elbow. Angle back in the corner for more rights. Angle fights out but gets caught with a full nelson slam before getting clotheslined to the floor. We've tut tot he back to Trips and Steph watching and Trips enjoying Angle getting his ass kicked, but this time Trips turns to see Steph has disappeared. Angle tries to return to the ring but gets knocked off the apron. Trish gets in some cheap shots while the ref's back is turned and Steph runs out to throw Trish down. Test and Albert get Steph in the rign, Test goes for a powerbomb, Trips runs out for the save and the DQ. (2:54)

Trips tries to fight off T&A on his own until Angle makes the save, helping to clear the ring. Angle checks on Steph though which pisses off Trips when he sees it. Steph gets between until Trips shoves her aside. The ref gets between them, Steph slaps him, Trips with a double-leg takedown on Kurt and a fight ensues. Trish tries to keep them apart, refs rush out but Trips and Angle take them both out. Trips goes to Pedigree Angle, Steph gets a waistlock on Trips from behind to try and pull him away, but he elbows her in the head, presumably because he thought she was a ref. Angle delivers a few rights causing Trips for some reason to drop an elbow on Steph. They keep fighting, Steph eventually gets up, makes it to the apron, only for Angle to be whipped into her and knock her to the floor. Eventually Angle gets thrown out and Trips checks on his wife.. He tries to carry her to the back only for Kurt to drop him with a right, which causes more refs to rush out to try and restore order.

Commercial

Replays of the chaos with HHH, Kurt and Steph.

Steph has an ice pack on her head back in her and Trips' dressing room. Foley comes in to say it's gotten out of hand. He makes HHH vs Angle at Unforgiven, and makes himself the referee to make sure this ends.

WWF Hardcore Championship: Steve Blackman (c) vs X-Pac
Pre-Match: JR announces the big tag main event with Taker, Rock, Kane and Benout will be No DQ now.
We actually get a quick exchange to start the match until Blackman sends X-Pac to the floor with a dropkick. X-Pac dropped on the barricade before getting tossed into the ring. Blackman slides in a trash can and lids until X-Pac intercepts with a lid to the head, then gets one kicked up into his face. X-Pac sent off the ropes and gets nailed int he ribs with a trash lid, then a back shot to the back of the head. X-Pac sent back off the ropes, popped up and nailed in the back of the head with a lid for two.
Blackman wedges the trash can in the corneronly to be sent face first into it himself. X-Pac drops him in the corner with a series of kicks to connect with the Bronco Buster. X-Pac tries to spray Blackman with a fire extinguisher but he avoids it and sprays X-Pac instead, before pulling out a kendo stick and nunchucks. They head up the ramp, can to the back of X-Pac, then the head. X-Pac makes Blackman catch the can before grabbing the truss of the entrance setup and kick it back into Blackman's face. X-Pac prepares to use the nunchucks but Jericho cracks him in the back with a kendo stick, allowing Blackman to cover for the win. (3:27)

Benoit approaches Kane in the locker room and points out they have to function as a team tonight. He understands Kane doesn't play well with others, wondering if it started when he was a child, not well liked on the playground, reported as "doesn't get along with others" on his report card, maybe even picked last for kickball. He says all that matters is tearing Taker and Rock apart tonight. Benoit goes to leave but Kane pulls him back just to make it clear he was never picked last for kickball.

Commercial

Replay of the finish of the Hardcore Title match. During the break Jericho was signing an autograph for someone only to be brutally assaulted by X-Pac in the face with nunchucks.

Rock finds Undertaker backstage. He reminds Taker how he got a Conchairto the last time the two teamed up and says he may as well just go out by himself if that's going to happen again. He admits they're not friends and probably never will be, but asks how things are going to go tonight. Taker agrees but says he'll be there for Rock, and when Foley announces the #1 contender he'll be there for Rock too.

Commercial

No Disqualification Match: Kane & Chris Benoit vs The Undertaker & The Rock (WWF Champion)
Commissioner Foley on commentary.
Pre-Match: While Kane makes his entrance we cut to the doctor tending to Jericho backstage, Jericho a bloody mess.
Taker and Benoit start the match, Benoit is shoved into the corner to be hammered down with rights. Benoit sent across the ring, rebounds into a powerslam, cover and Kane breaks it up. Rock tags in with rights, then Benoit sent off the ropes into a back elbow. Rock counters an Irish whip with a crossface but Kane breaks it up again, joining Benoit on a double team. Snap suplex by Benoit, then Kane tags in and pulls Rock to ringside to drop him on the barricade. Back in the ring, Rock sent off the ropes into a big boot. Benoit back in to stomp Rock down, then Rock tries to fight back only to be sent to the corner, but comes back with a clothesline. Kane knocked off the apron, spinebuster by Rock on Benoit. Rock tries for the People's Elbow but he's tripped by Kane and Benoit hits a scoop slam. Benoit hits the flying headbutt from the top, covers but it's a near fall. Benoit sent off the ropes into a belly to belly suplex.
Taker gets the hot tag and drops Benoit with rights, then Kane sent off the ropes into a boto and sent to the floor. Big boot to Benoit. Rock and Kane fight on the floor  and Taker nails the chokeslam on Benoit. Rock face first off the announce table. Taker goes for the Last Ride, Kane with a clothesline and Benoit rolls into a jackknife pin as a result to get the win. (5:00) Anti-climactic finish but a decent main event.

Taker immediately attacks Kane in the corner, and Rock goes after Benoit, Benoit and Kane sent out of the ring. Taker and Rock stare down, and Foley on commentary announces a fatal four-way for the title at Unforgiven. Benoit and Kane return to fight and take control of things. Referees rush out to try and restore order but they all get their asses kicked. Rock hits Benoit with a Rock Bottom and Taker chokeslams Kane to end the show.

Still at the America West Arena in Phoenix for this edition of Smackdown, and immediately we begin with Commissioner Foley. Announced for tonight:
- Rikishi and Too Cool take on Right to Censor
- Y2J teams with the Hardyz to face X-Pac and the tag champs

Foley reminds us that Vince left to become a "genetic jackhammer" a few months ago and Linda made him commissioner, and says most assumed he had absolute power, and answers to no one. But he says he answers to the fans, and not to just suck up, then gets a cheap pop, and in that vein he says he made two matches he thought the people wanted to see: the four-way WWF Title Match and Angle/HHH. He doesn't think any of those people can keep away from each other until then and possibly ruin the PPV, not to mention force him to put Al Snow in the main event. He has a foolproof plan to make sure they all get to Unforgiven.
Rock interrupts before he can announce his plans. Rock knows he's a targeted plan but makes it clear he's going to make it to Unforgiven despite what Foley thinks, says he wipes a lobster's left testicle with what Foley thinks, which apparently is anatomically accurate for lobsters, then promises to kick all their asses. Foley claims lobsters don't have testes, and he only knows because he's looked. Foley replays the segment from Raw where Taker and Rock talked before their match, his point being he saw the same look on Taker in that footage that he saw when Taker threw him off the Cell.
Taker comes out now. He admits he doesn't hide his feelings well, but says he won't take Rock out just because they aren't friends, and just because he and Austin don't see eye to eye doesn't mean he ran the guy over. He says he is the kind of guy that gets what he wants, and he wants the WWF Title. Benoit's here now and says that Foley's plan sucks, whatever it is. He makes a good point, showing the finish from Raw's main event, that he got the pin on Undertaker and should have gotten a title shot one on one, a fatal four-way makes no sense. He says he proved he's the better wrestler, and neither Taker or Rock can prove him wrong. This brings out Kane now. He doesn't care about proving Benoit wrong, instead he's going to prove the people right that called him inhuman, a freak and a monster.
Foley tries to move onto his plan but now Angle's here. He apologizes for the interruption and calls this nonsense, says that WWF titles can be lost at anytime unlike his gold medals that forever brand him as a winner. He says this all pales in comparison to the bigger issue, that being Steph's health. He accuses Trips of brutally attacking her again, showing the footage of Steph being nailed with an elbow. He says while he can control himself he has his doubts about Trips, and doubts his love for Steph.
Now here comes Triple H and tries to make a beeline for Angle but he's held back by Foley who finally manages to speak. To ensure they won't tear each other apart he's forcing them to team up against T&A. Then, Angle and Benoit will face the Acolytes in an Acolytes Rules Match. Finally, Rock and Taker will team up a third time to face the Dudleyz in a Tables Match. He also adds the stipulation that if one of them attacks their partner they'll be removed from their respective match entirely at the PPV. Angle proposes that spouses should not have physical contact involved either. Angle leaves, Trips tries to go after him, Foley keeps them apart on the ramp. Kane, Benoit, Rock and Kane start fighting in the ring. Taker tries to leave Rock hanging but he finally gives in and goes back to make the save. Well sort of. He gets rid of Benoit, leaving Rock to take a chokeslam from Kane.

Replay of what just happened.

Footage from earlier in the day where Eddie's hanging out in a low rider.

Acolytes Rules Match: The Acolytes vs Chris Benoit & Kane
Benoit starts fighting APA before Kane even comes out and gets double teamed for it. Benoit sent off the ropes into a double spinebuster just before Kane makes his way out. Farooq goes after Benoit while Kane and Bradshaw takes blows. Bradshaw knocked to the floor and attacks Farooq from behind before Bradshaw pulls him to the floor. Benoit avoids a Dominator and hits a series of Germans. Bradshaw grabs the ring bell but gets clotheslined by Kane before he can use it. Benoit sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and locks in the crossface.
Kane sent face first off the steps Bradshaw who makes the save and lays some boots in on Benoit, following with a powerbomb, makes the cover and Kane pulls him out of the ring. Bradshaw face first off the ring post. Benoit sent off the ropes into a spinebuster by Farooq, cover and Kane saves again. Farooq sent to the corner into a backbreaker from Kane. Benoit just leaves. APA double team Kane, sends him off the ropes and he hits a double clothesline. Clothesline sends Bradshaw to the floor, then Farooq sent off the ropes into a big boot. Flying shoulder block off the top by Bradhaw, then a back suplex/neckbreaker combo. Kane immediately gets up and grabs Bradshaw by the throat, but Farooq gets him with a chop block. Clothesline from Bradshaw and a double pin gets the win.  (3:46) Surprisingly good for how short it was.

Kane immediately leaves and goes after Benoit to the back.

Hunter finds Foley in his office, which tonight appears to be a workshop or something. Hunter says he can't team with Kurt, takes credit for some of Foley's head trauma but notes he has to realize they can't be together without Angle getting torn apart. Foley wants him to tear Kurt apart because he's sick of him too, but insists on tonight's match and stipulation... and suddenly the feed fades to black but there' s still audio.

Right to Censor come out. Richards brings up the mystery of who ran over Stone Cold, who he blames for the moral demise of the WWF with his finger gestures, beer swilling and vulgar mouth. While they weren't sorry to see him go, he does deny them having anything to do with it and other things. Val takes the mic and denies being brainwashed, he says there was something missing that he didn't realize what it was, until meeting Steven. He's not proud of what he's done or of the examples he's set, and when he was told to look back at those things, things he did to get ahead or popular or gold around his waist, he was asked two things: if those things helped him become a better person, and if his actions helped make the world a better place, the answer to which was no. He says the RTC helped open his eyes wide for the first time and realized selective censorship isn't wrong, while turning your back on the world's ills is. He says he was caught up in his own life and couldn't see the evils around him, and while there's air in his lungs and blood in his veins he will stand by the side of his brothers and fight the good fight against violence, vulagarity and scantily-clad women. He promises that the WWF will change whether it likes it or not.

E&C come out to the ring. Christian sympathizes with Phoenix for dealing with the Suns, Cardinals and Diamondbacks, and says it must be nice for them to have winners within state boundaries finally. Edge says they totally didn't run over Austin, calling it heinosity to the max. He even claims they'd go back in time to stop it from happening if they could, that's just how they are. Christian claims they do have a time machine though, and since they're going to beat the Hardyz at the PPV they can put it to use, bring back the Hardyz of the future, so they can see if the Hardyz learned how to talk.
So they bring out the Hardyz from 2050. "Jeff" says he feels too extreme before coughing up a lung. Christian asks if they still replaces s's with z's in the future and "Matt" says he's cold and hungry. Edge says he must be hungry for action. Edge prepares to spear them "for old time's sake."
Lita from 2050 comes out presumably for the save. "Lita" says she loves prunes.  Edge says Lita will do a Hardy for anything... er, anything for a Hardy. Edge prepares to spear them again but now Foley's here, and he basically makes the PPV match a Cage Match in a convoluted way before bringing out the actual Hardyz. Lita's right behind as the Hardyz beat down the champs, and Lita joins in for a triple suplex to send them packing.

WWF Hardcore Championship: Perry Saturn (w/ Terri) vs Steve Blackman (c)
Pre-Match: While Saturn's making his entrance we cut to commentary and Tazz is in the crowd to take a guy's seat, even has his own sign.
Steve and Perry start on the floor with Blackman delivering rights, Saturn's tossed in. Saturn tries a suicide dive but Blackman nails him in the head with a trash can lid. Blackman pulls out his escrima sticks and wails on Saturn. He tries to use it to hit a back suplex but Terri jumps on Blackman's back. Blackman prepares to spank her but Saturn nails him in the back of the head with a stop sign for the save. Blackman gets tossed into the crowd and Saturn follows, leaping off the barricade with a lid to the head. Another shot to the head, Saturn takes control and takes it back to ringside, Blackman coming off the barricade with a kick but grabs his knee on the landing.
Back in the ring, Blackman tosses in a trash can and lid, wedging the can in the corner, Saturn tries to whip him into it, Blackman tries to float over but Saturn avoids it and dropkicks Blackman face first into the can. Northern Lights suplex by Saturn gets two. Back out of the ring, Terri holds Blackman so Saturn can hit an Asai moonsault before taking it back to the ring. Saturn grabs another trash can, goes up top and gets it kicked back into him midair for Blackman to retain. (2:51)

All through the match they kept cutting to Tazz being obnoxious and throwing popcorn at Lawler, even hits Cole with his sign.

Kevin Kelly is backstage with Taker. Taker says him and Rock aren't friends and don't like each other, but he's still going to be professional and get the job done tonight. He hopes Rock doesn't piss him off though for his sake.

Edge, Christian (WWF Tag Team Champions) & X-Pac vs Chris Jericho & Hardy Boyz
Jericho and Hardyz attack from behind to start the match, X-Pac and Jericho taking it up the ramp briefly before taking it to the ring. Jericho with a cheap kick to the ribs until Christian saves him, Jericho sent off the ropes and hits a flying forearm. Chops by Jericho, then Christian sent to the corner and rebounds into a bulldog. Matt tags in, scoop slam by Jericho and a leg drop off the middle rope by Matt, who mounts with rights then one for Edge. Matt sent shoulder first into the corner and X-Pac tags in to deliver kicks, dropping Matt into position for the Bronco Buster. Edge tags in and sets Matt on the top rope only to be shoved off himself, then throws Matt off. Lita trips Edge and pulls him groin first into the ring post behind the ref's back.
Jericho gets the hot tag and in comes X-Pac. Jericho catches a kick and hits a clothesline, then another. Jericho ducks a spin kick and catches him in the Walls, but Edge saves it. Jeff gets Edge and X-Pac with Whisper in the Wind then gets nailed from behind by Christian. Jeff sent off the ropes and hits a double dropkick on E&C. Jericho clotheslines Edge to the floor, Hardyz hit Poetry in Motion on X-Pac. Christian gets it too, then a Twist of Fate and the Swaton. X-Pac slides in to hit the X-Factor on Jeff while Edge pulls Matt to the floor for the win. (3:54) Good tag match.

More political BS where they're trying to get a political debate to happen on Smackdown next month.

Lillian is with Rock backstage and asks if he can trust Taker. Rock says Taker should be worried that he's already pissed him off and has already decided he can't trust Taker, he can only trust himself. He says he can't trust Taker, Kane, Benoit, the goof holding the camera, some woman off-camera gawking at him, or even Lilian. Rock asks her if she likes pie. She does. Just like thought.

We see the footage of when Austin got run over at Survivor Series back in November.

Tables Match: Dudley Boyz vs The Undertaker & The Rock (WWF Champion)

Rock back in, D-Von sent off the ropes, ducks a clothesline and hits one of his own. Rock sent off the ropes into back elbows before the Dudleyz knock Taker from the apron. Scoop slam by Bubba setting D-Von up to hit the What's Up. Bubba calls for the tables.
Dudleyz slide a table into the ring. Taker big boots it back into them as they try to set it up. Taker sets the table in the corner, Rock tries to throw him into it but Bubba tackles him to save it. Rock grabs a table in the aisle and slides it in for him and Taker to set up. Clothesline from Rock to Bubba, D-Von with a low blow on Taker, Rock tries to put Bubba through the table with a Rock Bottom but D-Von moves the table to save it. Taker with a back suplex on D-Von.
Rock and Taker set a table near the corner, Rock sets another near the ropes. Taker goes to chokeslam D-Von through a table, Bubba pushes Rock into him to save it.
